I bought a 2015 Jeep Wrangler, clearly advertised through Radical Auto as coming with DUAL Top Group, hard top and soft top included. The car had the hard top on with what appeared to be the equipment for the soft top in the back. Before buying the car I confirmed with the dealer, George, that it was in fact the soft top before purchasing. He confirmed that it was, we even discussed it as a main selling point before closing the deal. I drove the Jeep home and the very next day pulled the soft top out only to find that it was missing the majority of the equipment needed.
I contacted Radical Auto and explained the problem, assuming they probably had the rest of the equipment in a storage unit and forgot about it. I also contacted the original owner of the vehicle and he told me that when he traded the car in, the back was stuffed full of all the equipment for the soft top. George told me that, after looking, they could not find the rest of the soft top but were positive that they received the car the same exact way it was sold to me, a stark contrast to what the original owner said.
I asked if there was anything they could do for me considering I bought the car under the false pretense that it came with dual top group and that the dual top group was factored into the price of the vehicle. George was less than helpful but told me to email him proof of the car advertised with dual top group and he would send it to his boss and see if anything could be done. Since I sent him the email with the proof, over four weeks ago now, I have not heard back. I've contacted George through his personal cell and he refuses to take my calls and will not answer my texts asking for confirmation that he received my email.
I was extremely disappointed to see how quickly my relationship with the dealership turned sour. My simply request for compensation for a product I was sold, and DID NOT RECEIVE, was not a large or ridiculous one. Instead, the dealership refused to take responsibility, claiming that they were oblivious to the fact that the soft top was incomplete and is now refusing to offer any assistance, is ignoring me, and hoping this will all just go away. Terrible customer service and a disgusting, blatant attempt to take advantage of a young first time car purchaser. read more
