purchased a 2000 Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG from Rockstar Auto Group for about $22,000. I fully understood that I was buying a 26-year-old AMG and expected normal age-related maintenance. What I did not expect was to be dealing with roughly $4,700 in immediate repairs within weeks of purchase. I took the car to MBZ Auto Service for a post-sale PPI/100k-mile inspection. They found failed engine and transmission mounts, a significant oil leak requiring transmission removal, transmission service, spark plugs, door-related repairs, and other age/mileage items. The car was put on a lift and the issues were shown to me directly. What makes this especially frustrating is that I had actually scheduled a PPI twice before buying the car. Gor was fine with that, but after repeatedly telling me the car was sorted, that he had personally driven it 500-600 miles without problems, and that it was in great condition, I asked him if I really needed one. He told me, essentially, that if I were his brother or family member, he would tell me I did not need one. Based on that reassurance, I canceled it. When I called afterward about the repair bill, Gor initially said I had gotten a PPI. I reminded him that I had not because of that exact conversation, and he acknowledged remembering it. He then said he could not trust my mechanic's findings and that I would need to pay to have the car towed back to his mechanic before he would even consider doing anything. Even then, he promised nothing. This is the same mechanic I was told had already inspected and approved the car before the sale. I understand that older enthusiast cars need maintenance. What I find unacceptable is being personally reassured that the car was sorted, only to have nearly $5,000 in immediate repairs identified shortly afterward, followed by a defensive response and no real accountability. Based on my experience, I would not buy another car from Rockstar Auto Group. If you are considering an older or enthusiast vehicle from them, get a completely independent PPI from a specialist of your own choosing, no matter how confident the verbal assurances sound. read more

I just bought a 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander here! My transaction with Gor was very straightforward. He doesn't go out to "talk to a supervisor" or anything like that, which I really appreciate. All the cars in the dealership have Carfax. He let us inspect the car, as well as test-drive the car on the freeway. He was also okay with bringing in our own mechanic to inspect the car (OBD2 and all) before we made any purchase. I really appreciated this level of transparency, so thanks! read more

A amazing experience buying the car. I was in and out in a half an hour. The guy didn't mess around. Didn't try to sell me something I didn't need. He told me this is the price of the car that's what I can do it for. I said that's great. We signed the papers and I was there less than an hour. Don't know a better, more honest dealership, Rockstar is the example. read more

I took my car to at least 20 locations trying to sell it. I got lots of lowball offers, but when I took the car here the owner was very thorough and kind. He brought the car to his mechanic to make sure it was good. Everything was perfect on his end. I messed something up with the dmv when trying to apply for a duplicate title so we couldn't make the car deal that day even though we went through with all of the paperwork. He promised he would buy the car in a month for the same price. One month later, he kept his promise And bought the car for the amount we agreed upon This place is has no BS! you are in good hands here. read more

My wife's car was totaled in an accident and the insurance company paid out an unreasonably low amount given the highly inflated price of used cars at the time. Thankfully, we went to Rockstar Auto early in our search for her replacement, and were immediately impressed by the condition of the used cars in their inventory, and the prices they were asking. On a like for like, make, model and year comparison, on every car we were considering, they quoted slightly but not insignificantly lower when compared to all the 9 other dealers in the north Hollywood, studio city, Sherman oaks and van nuys area. But what really sold me on going with them, was Gor's friendly attitude and complete lack of high pressure sales tactics when we were indecisive. Even when we were fairly sure we had made up our mind but were still waiting for the insurance to pay out, he let us reserve the car for the week with just an extremely low deposit. Low enough that we really could back out without feeling like we'd taken a big hit. His professionalism was again on display when he insisted on volunteering all potentially valuable information and imperfections on the car before he would even let us pay that small deposit. Given it would not have been possible for us to discover these very minor details before the sale, he had no incentive to do so other than just being a good guy. He also was extremely accommodating in allowing for our mechanic to conduct a comprehensive inspection. Lastly he was very transparent in pricing. Within 10 minutes of quoting us the sale price, he provided us with the full final price, with all taxes, fees, registration, etc included so we knew exactly what we'd be paying before we committed. No silly made up fees some other dealers tac on at the last minute. My wife's had the car (Kia Optima Hybrid) for 6 months now, and she loves it. She drives 4 to 6 hours a day for work, working 7 days a week. Even with those thousands of miles of stop-start driving, there have been no mechanical, electrical or unexpected interior wear and tear issues. She's getting better mileage than her old Camry. In a much larger, roomier and more comfortable vehicle. She's very happy she took his advice and went with a hybrid. A decision she probably wouldn't have had Gor not explained how advantageous a hybrid would be for the driving she does. The experience could not have been better, and if I'm in the market for a used car, there is no question RockstarAuto will be my first point of call. read more

Gor you're the best thank you for helping us out with my flat tire and referring us to get it fixed!

Fantastic Dealership!! I had told Gor, the owner, I was gonna wait a few months to write a review, but I don't wanna wait any longer. I purchased this vehicle on June 11th, 2020 I had been looking for a work truck for at least a year but its hard to trust people/dealers nowadays selling used, overpriced, high mileage vehicles. So many used car dealers have terrible reviews, and I pay attention to that, as well as their responses to customers reviews and how they interact online as well as in person. I saw the reviews for this place and they had Blue 2004 Dodge Dakota SLT with 101,000 miles on it. Honestly its in pretty pristine condition a few scratches. dents but it runs solid and smooth. I can't be any happier with this purchase. They were honest, easy to work with, and extremely well priced. I will probably buy another car from them in the future as well. I wouldn't be working right now if it wasn't for purchasing this truck, and I'm grateful for the transparency and the fact that it runs like a champ! Thank you guys! read more

Was looking at a Prius. Had cash in hand ready to buy. Spoke to Gor and it was Friday around noonish said he's going home for the day and to come back tomorrow. We made an appointment between 1230-1 the next day (Saturday) Same experience as another guy on here, Gor no showed, I emailed, called, left messages. Stood outside the dealership for over an hour after driving from San Bernardino. I bought another car, but I know GOR is going to read this. Just want to let you know you're a flake and a real piece of Sh*t to make me drive all the way down and flake out on me. I know you got my messages cause I heard the phone ringing in the dealership when I called. If I ran my business like Gor ran his, I'd be out of business. It's only a matter of time before these guys go under. You can't legitimately run a business this way and expect to be in business very long. read more

In the middle of this pandemic I was in need for a car. I can't afford too much because of my hours at work we're cut. I was walking by and stopped just to let a look. I recently had someone run through a stop sign and total my car. In looking for a new one in a pinch, I came across Rockstar Auto Group originally for an Infiniti. Gor was going to give me steal on the vehicle, but just due to the short timing and my personal finances- it just wasn't time for a luxury vehicle purchse. Over that weekend I went to about 7 other dealerships for more economical options. I was extremely uncomfortable with the sales tactics of all of them. The cars were decent for their price ranges, but I just could not get myself to do business with people who felt more like vultures than humans. After a very agonizing 3 days of this, my gut just said to stick with Rockstar Auto Group. I called back Gor, and he instantly met me on a Sunday evening and was so ridiculously helpful. He showed me around to the other options he had on the lot and I ended up settling with a 2010 Toyota Prius with 61,000 miles. He was very quick and honest with all of his business. There are also just a few minor (electrical not mechanical) fopas with the vehicle that I discovered, and in letting him know, he is having me come back to have that fixed. Gor and his brother are honest and just great humans who are not there to pressure you into getting something outside your means, and stand by the vehicles and their reputations. For that, I salute them ten fold. It is hard to find such genuine people in this world anymore. Honestly, my partner and I will continue to go to them for all of our mechanic, detail, and car buying needs. If you are really looking for a genuine buying experience, I 1000% recommend Rockstar Auto. read more

This is the BEST place to go if you're looking to buy a car! My family and I have worked with numerous dealers and auto groups, but Rockstar Auto Group definitely stands out from the rest. Gor and Harry were super patient and stayed long after business hours with us to help and answer our questions. They were extremely professional, friendly, and genuinely kind. They did not push us into buying and they were very honest about their vehicles. Their transparency was refreshing and we appreciated how much time they took to walk us through everything. Let me start from the beginning, I work at Starbucks down the way from Gor and his brother's dealership. I have known Gor for a few years now and he became one of my favorite regulars at work. I finally saved enough money to make my first vehicle purchase and explored my options for a used car. This was my first auto purchase so I didn't have a lot of experience or knowledge on what I needed to do. Gor and his brother really came through for me and guided me through all of the necessary steps to finance a car that they had on their lot (it was a huge coincidence that they had the car I initially was searching for, a Subaru Crosstrek! The universe was looking out for me!). They set me up with a vehicle that was affordable, low on mileage, great on gas, and to my safety standards! They were patient with my questions and not only answered them, but gave me answers to questions I didn't know I would have during the process. Gor was very thorough with the paperwork and talked about all of the fees the car would come with to ensure that there would be no surprise charges when I finalized my paperwork. What was most refreshing was not being pushed into making a purchase right away. Gor gave me time to think about my decision and told me to reach out if I had any other questions or concerns. Such a friendly and supportive team, thank you guys for helping me with my first vehicle! I would highly recommend giving them a visit if you're looking for an affordable used car. They are also handling COVID very well, didn't feel uncomfortable when meeting in person whatsoever! read more

NEVER BUY A CAR FROM THIS PLACE !!!!! I usually don't write reviews but buying a car from this place was my biggest mistake. The shop is ran by 2 armenian brothers, who in my opinion don't know anything about cars and will sugarcoat everything just to sell you the garbage they have. Therefore I want to warn other people about this Seller Gor cars & Rockstar Auto Group. This piece of sh*t sold me the car and all he said was: "it has minor issues like interior cosmetic that need to be fixed, everything else is perfect". The seller tries to impress the customer by talking a lot, cracking jokes, swearing on how honest he is & keep you distracted - After just 3 days of purchase, i saw what all he had lied about: The AC & Heater don't work, the rear mirror just fell off, the alignment is messed up, the entire dashboard lights don't even work, it makes a loud cracking sound when i reverse the car and the gear stick is damaged too! (look at photos for proof) Of course its a used car so little problems are normal, but everything i mentioned above is costing me a FORTUNE TO FIX ! On top of that, he charged me way more than what the car is worth with all its damages and issues. Honestly, I would've been better off buying a car off craigslist. He runs this SCAM BUSINESS to sell faulty cars. Don't trust a word that comes out of his mouth. I hope Karma gets back to you for what you've done Gor & Harry and your business goes under ! read more

I came across a chevy volt on their website and reached out. I got in contact with Gor and was able to come see the car. Upon arrival, I was quickly greeted by Gor and shown the vehicle. The car was in amazing shape and had very low mileage. Gor went into great depth about the vehicle and how their dealership works. He also gave some great advice on how your average dealership and car buying process works. He was able to show me the exact breakdown of the pricing with insurance and provided me with a buyout form to take to a credit union for financing. I needed to discuss with my fiancé before moving forward so he offered that he could hold the car for a small deposit that would go towards the down payment if I proceed. After discussing with my fiancé, we decided not to proceed due to our current situation. However, I would definitely come by this dealership again to see what they have when we're ready. I had a great experience with Gor and his brother who really work hard on making sure you have a great experience. Gor was friendly, took me out on a test drive and was very personal. We negotiated in a kind manner and struck a deal quick. It didn't feel like I was negotiating with a shark, which is the usual feel at many car dealerships. He provided a Carfax report that I requested and made sure the closing of the deal went smooth. Transparency and honesty in a business fraught with shysters. My son and I went to Rockstar earlier today to "look at" a Corvette. With the appropriate amount of cynicism I introduced myself to Gor. Within minutes I was disarmed by his genuine demeanor. At 66 I have become a very good judge of character. Every answer, every statement was honest and he never once tried to: suggest his mechanic, or, sidestep any of my questions, or, push me into making a decision, or any of the usual deception you often get from small independent car dealers. The price was very fair, the service was exemplary and the transfer of registration/title was shockingly simple. I will be buying additional cars from Gor and his brother. read more

For all of you who have been dealing with dishonest or shady characters selling you a used car for years. I now have found a place with two brothers Harry and Gor, who are just the nicest and most honest guys you'd ever want to deal with. They are just starting out and want to build a reputation of carrying outstanding used cars, even cars that go back for than a decade or more. But each car they carry is prime. They don't carry junk, and they don't try to sell lemons that are going to break down 6 months to a year after you buy them. They look for quality cars, from owners that have taken extremely good care of their cars, and which are in outstanding condition. But the biggest thing is, they are HONEST people (a good close friend who knew them turned me onto them) and they are starting out and building a new business, so they are really cutting their margins as much as possible to give a good deal, which they did with me for a mint 2003 Toytota Corolla, 150K miles, but prime condition, engine, cooling system, transmission outstanding, leather interior, Bluetooth put in by previous owner, all the paperwork or repairs and servicing, it is absolutely beautiful. But the most important thing, the excellent condition they said the car was in, was completely true. This is the most important thing. Two brothers working together to build a clientele and continue to expand by BEING HONEST TO A TEE, and going out of their way to give you the best price possible. I knew what they purchased the car I bought for, and the margin of profit they left themselves, was MORE than reasonable. They are making the effort to sell, VERY dependable and quality used cars, for very fair prices. But it's the TRUST that are selling, because they know that's what get referrals and repeat business. I am on cloud nine since I bought this car, and I am telling everyone, especially my immediate and extended family members and close friends. I'm telling you, this review is not coerced or done for personal gain as some stuff up on yelp might be. When you meet these two guys, I guarantee you will know immediately, you are dealing with two brothers that truly care about us, their clients, and they don't just want our business now, but they want our business and our referrals forever. That's the way to run a business. And they are both really nice easy going cool guys. No sales pressure and no salesman bulls_t. If there's a way to contact me here on yelp or you want some type of personal confirmation. I'll even leave my work email gsc@gregoryscottcummins.com and if you want to connect up - I'll give you my cell then and we can talk. I don't do reviews often up here, but when it's deserved, for them, and for you, just trying to tell it like it is because I'm ecstatic I found them. Greg C. read more

This is the place to go if you want to get a great deal on a used car and transparency! I was a little nervous looking for a car that was used because of the typical situation where you have to walk in defensive and try to look for the catch, but Gor changed all of that for me! He was very relatable and made sure that my family was comfortable. He had great tips on how to buy and he didn't just throw me into a contract. He educated us on the process even though it did take a little while to go through the financing company which I wasn't used to, but just to do business with Gor made it all worth it. The car that we purchased looked brand new on the inside and just minor fading on some of the paint, but still a steal! I literally shopped around and couldn't find a better deal within a 30 mile radius! I would definitely refer my closest friends and my family here and I was very happy with the selection. The Rave Reviews for Rockstar are True! I help folks buy and sell cars... for a small fee. This time my client wanted a "very good, low mileage, vintage Mercedes sedan." After a career in the automotive industry, including working as an engineer, factory test driver, quality control analyst, and then in sales and service, I have come to expect and be skeptical of typical used car dealer hype, deception, and their frequent inclination to pack sales deals with deceptive fees. I usually do better when buying from private parties, especially when they provide a credible story of vehicle history, supply lots of maintenance records, and allow me to do a thorough inspection. Imagine my surprise when I found a very good car at this small family-owned store in North Hollywood. The 2003 E-320 had a wonderful CARFAX history, full of regular dealer servicing, and the car looked flawless. Brothers Gor and Harry Vkhkryan were transparent and completely accommodating with my nit-picking investigation of the car and its records. Gor made me laugh when on my initial test-drive I felt a slight vibration in the steering wheel as I first shifted into Drive and we both looked at each other, and at exactly the same time we both said to each other... "bad motor mount." He knew it and wanted me to be sure I was aware of this fault. He also pointed out a faulty passenger side sun visor and a loose door handle. Within a few hours I had found, inspected, negotiated a fair price, and bought a fine used car for my client. She is happy, I made a few bucks for my efforts, and feel fortunate and honored to have met a couple of truly good guys in the used car business. I highly recommend Gor and Harry at Rockstar Auto Group in North Hollywood. Don C. , Long Beach read more
