RAD Construction was responsive with our quote and competitive. Russ is no nonsense and straight forward, honest. We opted for pre-inspection by an engineer to ensure that the work RAD quoted would satisfy engineering requirements. The engineer came back with several items that weren't on the original quote and Russ figured out a way to keep on budget with the original quote! He could have easily taken advantage and tacked on additional costs, but he worked a few things around and made it happen. Again, an honest person. The major cracks in our doorways are gone after the work. The engineer gave it the thumbs up in post inspection. His workers were courteous and cleaned up when done. Based on the worksite "chatter", they were having fun working together and presumable RAD. All around a great experience. I would use them again in a heartbeat. We had R.A.D. Construction come out during inspections while we were purchasing our home. It's a nearly 100-year-old house, so we wanted to make sure the foundation was in good shape and also wanted to see what it would take to get the home earthquake retrofitted. We had a slight crack in our foundation, as well needed post and piers put in, and we also decided to go ahead and have the house earthquake retrofitted. Throughout the process - from the original inspection + quote, scheduling the work, and the two weeks of work itself - Manny, Diana, Michael, and the entire team were such a joy to work with. We have some hairline cracks in our tile floor and some others in the walls and ceilings. We did an extensive remodel four years ago and thought the roof loads were creating the problems. Fearing the worst we called RAD to come out to determine the cause and talk about solutions. Their office called the day before the appointment to confirm everything. Russ arrived 15 minutes early and started by assessing the outside of our house. He asked very relevant questions and then looked around inside and out for another 15-20 minutes. Russ recommended no repairs for the time being but instead said we should measure the property and monitor the cracks for further movement. Russ did offer a couple of solutions for us if we are really concerned but left those decisions up to us. I asked him what the fee was for him to come out and he said "no charge." Russ has been in the business for 25 years and really seems to know what he is doing. I have a feeling he has "seen it all" and can probably fix it, too. We may end up needing repairs in the future and RAD and Russ will be the first call we make. read more

Granted my house didn't need any fixing, I'm writing this review for honesty from RAD. I had a fear that the cracks in my wall and other issues with my house were going to be problems. I'm not a construction/house guy, so I don't know what to look for. He came out and looked at the whole house; on the sides and underneath and stated that there aren't many issues. The few that he noticed weren't a major issue and if my house needed anything, it would have been a tuneup and could wait. I was thankful for that, the honesty. R.A.D. did a significant foundation repair in my garage in 2002. It has held up very well. When I had concerns about another part of the garage foundation, they were happy to have Russ come out to look it over. He carefully reviewed and discussed the foundation and factors contributing to its movement. Fortunately, no further repairs are needed right now but what a relief to hear that from a pro.
