I am so happy that I discovered LG Construction. I was looking for someone who would take on a small job - reinforcing a garage door spring support. Sam promptly responded and came with his wife, Maria the next day. I was so impressed with their skills and work ethic, that I looked for other projects for them to tackle. They also repaired a water-damaged bathroom ceiling, patched and painted our hardscape stucco walls and repaired a water-damaged wall in the garage. He is also working up quotes for epoxying our garage floor and replacing the threshold on our front door. Sam is up to any challenge, and no job is too small. But their main business is remodeling/renovation. Sam and Maria excel in every aspect. They are knowledgeable, skilled, efficient, easy too work with, excellent communicators and reasonably priced. Sam is a perfectionist and sets high standards. Highly recommended. read more

Very profesional, pleasant, great craftsmanship. He and his team were a pleasure to work with. Very trustworthy, I left them in my place while I went to work several days and they always locked up behind and left everything super clean. I highly recommend!! read more

Had another great experience with LG Construction! Highly recommend for projects both big and small. Quick, responsive, and great communication! I will definitely work with LG Construction again! read more

Sam and team did phenomenal work on our bathroom remodel. They were communicative, on-time, and completed the work exactly as quoted (on-time and 100% complete) They truly treated the remodel as if it was their own home, and the quality and attention to detail was clear. They went above and beyond by performing paint touch ups to resolve cosmetic issues left by another contractor. This was unprompted and a pleasant surprise. When unexpected changes had to be made (which happens with just about any remodel), they were quick to communicate what the changes were, how it would affect costs and timeline, and getting our full permission to do so. Ultimately, we are 100% satisfied and have already been recommending LG Construction to anyone we know. Well done team. read more

They responded . And thought this company was legit . But immediately stated the charge was going to be $325 just for a quote... I will say this ? This isn't our first rodeo with a flood dilemma . But this is our first time a company wants to charge us for a quote... On to the next ... $325? Just so you can gather all the information? Because why ? This must have been their first time doing this type of job ... smh . read more

I hired Sam for a kitchen remodel project and I am very satisfied about the result. He did all the preparation works including patching the walls, extending the floor tiles (older cabinets were laying on the concrete), moving electrical outlets, installing the supports to hang the cabinets. Then he installed the kitchen cabinets: these are quite expensive cabinets made in Italy and I was obviously very vigilant about the installation process. Sam was very patient and collaborative; he listened to all of my concerns and he also asked a lot of questions about how I wanted certain things done to be sure that his work would meet my expectations. Overall I can definitely say that Sam is a hard working person, very respectful, reliable and honest. I also think that the price that he charged me for the entire work is very fair. I would definitely hire him again read more

Semyen and his team helped us during the last phase of our basement renovation. They installed the baseboards, bedroom door, closet door, shelves and microwave vent. Sam re-did our fireplace and it turned out awesome. He was easy to communicate with and did the work very quickly. When I reached out for an estimate he responded quickly and was lower than other contractors I contacted. Once he started the work he kept me updated until completion. Excellent work! Sam and his team did exceptional restoration job in our house after severe water damage. They even found what mitigation contractor have missed and took care of it. Overall we are very happy with the results! They did great quality work in a short period of time. They took care of all the details and even additional requests. Project went smooth and communication was very easy. Now our place looks way better than it was before. We definitely recommend LG Construction to home owners! read more

Sam did an amazing job on our kitchen demo/remodel and I would highly recommend him to all my friends and family. I had reached out to other companies about removing a potential load bearing wall, pocket door, and kitchen cabinetry in our 60+ year old house. Most of them wouldn't take on the project because it was too small in scope and more of an "add on item" to a larger remodel that we just weren't interested in doing. Sam offered to take on the project and was timely, communicative and prompt. There were a few surprises during the demo- definitely to be expected in a 1950s home- and he communicated with us every step of the way on how he planned to tackle each challenge. We're just so impressed with the level of quality and his ability to get it done in such a relatively short time frame. Sam, we appreciate all of your hard work!! read more

I highly recommend Sam and Leypynov General Construction without reservation. We worked with Sam and his colleagues for the remodeling of our bedroom and en-suite bathroom/laundry room in March 2021. Following our initial onsite visit (observing COVID-restrictions) and discussion of our plans - Sam generated a clear and concise statement of work. The statement of work outlined deliverables, timelines, budget and materials. His transparent approach, attention to detail and flexibility regarding the workplan and budget was a breath of fresh air from other contractors we have solicited in the past. Our project included the following 1. New floor installation, 2. Multiple window installation, 3. Interior wall installation, 4. Full bathroom installation (including plumbing, shower installation, tiling), 5. Insulating the walls and Attic, 6. Painting, 7. Installation of new plumbing and 8. Installation of new electrical items to highlight a few items. I hope this gives you a sense of the breath of work Sam and his team conducted. Sam was agile, detail orientated and an expert troubleshooter - which was necessary as our home is almost 100 years old. Prior to the commencement of work - Sam generated clear diagrams to inform new plumbing requirements and diagrams for interior walls, bathroom vanity locations etc., Sam was particular good at communication, he would text me each morning outlining arrival times, trips to home depot, and other general project updates. His utilization of a shared on-line spreadsheet facilitated a detailed outline of work in progress and/or completed. In outlining the project - Sam broke down the budget into milestone and clear deliverables rather than bulk sums, this was appreciated and added to his transparency. We are extremely satisfied with all the work conducted by Sam and his team. As outlined in the photos attached - he diligently installed complex tiled floors and walls, a new laundry system, bathroom, and windows. He performed significant work that cannot be seen in these photos - including rerouting plumbing, electrical, insulation etc., which are equally as important as astatic pieces. I 100% recommend Sam and Leypynov General Construction- In fact Leypynov General Construction has already begun work for friends, neighbors, and family members. Look no further - The best general contractor in San Diego. read more

Sam seemed to be knowledgeable about the work he was doing and everything came out well, but he is so rude and unprofessional, he left the kitchen and living room a mess. There was sawdust on the tv, the new PlayStation, the counters, food, and cooking utensils. I've worked with contractors before and they have put up plastic to keep their work space clean and he didn't. On his last day, I asked him to please clean up after himself and he was so mad and just left without showing me the finished project and left the kitchen a mess. He also wanted to be paid before he completed the project. He should have disclosed that clearly in his contract but he didn't. He was so upset when we told him we would pay him when he completed the work as we have done with other contractors. read more

Sam is a fantastic contractor. He is responsive, easy to work with and follows up quickly. It was hard finding someone that would work on our wooden patio that needed reinforcing (additional bolts, pole). In addition we had to add a vent above our microwave and out of the house. He was knowledgeable about the work, supplies and time needed for this project. We are so happy with the work! read more

Sam reconstructed my bathroom after a significant water leak incident. I reached out to Sam and asked if he could quote me on my bathroom reconstruction. It was for an installation for a new bathtub, partial shower tiles, vanity, mirror, light fixtures, toilet, and to install new drywall that wrapped around my bathroom and a bit of my hardwood flooring before entering the bathroom. I kid you not. Sam had a complete, detailed invoice within two hours while other companies that I reached out to took 48 hours or longer to reply with an entire invoice. I should also mention that out of the five companies that I reached out to, and Sam had the best pricing. There was no delay in Sam's response time, and I appreciate it so much because it was an emergency for me at the time. Sam did a great job on the entire project. He's honest and always prompt, extremely professional, and had excellent communication. If I had not purchased the wrong size bathtub, Sam could've finished the whole project literally in less than a week. After such a lovely experience with Sam and his wife, Maria, I ended up calling them again to help me replace and install my washer and dryer, and he also helped change my kitchen hanging light fixtures. It's been a pleasure having them work on my bathroom reconstruction and home. I look forward to working with them again, and I've also recommended them to friends and family. I recommend LGC to anyone who's looking for honest and professional people! read more

Easiest five-star review ever. Sam and team completely gutted and renovated our 1920's kitchen into a beautiful, functional space that kept with our home aesthetic. Sam was timely, responsive, reasonably priced, and a true collaborative partner in our vision. Due to global supply chain shortages we had already picked out and procured our appliances, IKEA SEKTION cabinets, and tile. I then found out that many San Diego kitchen remodelers absolutely refused to work with anything but their pricy "custom" cabinetry, which is so lame! Sam had no complaints and actually complemented us on our decision (and IKEA's craftsmanship). Right off the bat i knew this was someone we wanted to work with. In total, Sam and team demo'ed the existing cabinetry, tile, and plumbing (including proper handling of lead-based paints and tile), drywalled, prepped and paint-matched, assembled and installed cabinetry, installed dishwasher and garbage disposal, sink, countertops, and hand-laid tile. It was a big undertaking but Sam was very responsive and accurate with all of his timelines and cost estimates. We especially appreciated Sam's eye for detail. We had a specific vision for the design, but as non-professionals we clearly missed a few things here and there. Sam caught everything and didn't get frustrated with any of our mistakes. He also had a lot of great suggestions where things could be done better, and we really appreciated his feedback and help. Finally, when there were decisions we had made that weren't necessarily the easiest or cheapest (like picking zellige tile that needed to be hand-set one by one) Sam made sure we knew what we were getting into and then delivered a truely stunning result. Will be recommending Sam to everyone we know, and will be surely using his services again in the future. read more

I am so thankful to have come across Sam at LG Construction! He recently helped us to reinforce our outdoor balcony and add stair railings to our home. Throughout it all, he was always communicative about the steps involved, the materials he would purchase, how much it would cost, and when it would be finished. We had to manage these renovations from out of town so all of these communications were done seamlessly over text, and he was thoughtful about sending photos and videos as well. He was patient and understanding when we had small change requests and was always willing to help out and give us suggestions. He is honest, trustworthy, and reliable - and truly a jack of all trades. It was a pleasure working with him and I know we will be calling him when we have other projects for the home. Thank you so much, Sam! read more

We needed our kitchen exhaust fan replaced with a new exhaust hood. Sam was able to quickly get us a quote that included a breakdown of all the items that would be required, from demo, electrical work, hood installation, dry wall and patch/paint. He also took time to explain what was involved, such as special pieces needed and other adjustments he made that he felt were more suited as he started working on the job. He ended up being able to get everything installed and patched up for less than the original quote, and completed it all in less time than expected as well. The exhaust hood is working great! If you are looking for someone honest, straightforward and knowledgeable for your project, I highly recommend Leypynov General Construction. read more

Sam fixed the flooring and interior of our family apartment in San Diego. He was extremely professional, affordable, and did an excellent job at remodeling our unit. We had flooding from the apartment above our unit that ruined part of the ceiling and part of the flooring. This review is long overdue! We hired Sem to demo and re-build the mantle surrounding our fireplace. The existing fireplace was very old and the dimensions of the fireplace made the rebuild complicating. Sem communicated well with us through the entire process and we are very happy with his work. Note: I did not have a chance to use Sam for any jobs, but I did want to leave a rating for his customer service. I contacted him exactly one month ago with a list of odd jobs around the house and asked for an estimate. He responded within 1 day letting him know he'll get the estimate to me the following day, but then ended up surprising me with the estimate that same day. Unfortunately, I dragged my feet and didn't respond until a month later when his job flow had increased. Even when I reached back to ask when he was available, he still responded within 1 day to tell me he couldn't take it (in a short response--but I still appreciated the communication back!). I really like the very fast responses and the actual drafted estimate, rather than receiving a message back to call them or just getting a $$/hour response that I've been getting with other handymen and contractors on Yelp. I would reach out to him again if I need another job done in the future. read more

Sam knows what he is doing and is always well equipped for the job. He helped me with few parts of our kitchen renovation project - putting new tile floor, replacing part of the laminate flooring with tile (to extend the kitchen area) , changing plumbing, moving electrical outlets, moving the kitchen ventilation and adjusting IKEA cabinets for my unique circumstances in few places (ranging from basic but custom cuts to fabricating custom wall mounts). He is quick on finding out of the box solution for the problem at hand and gives recommendations on how to save money while achieving the set goal, which worked out great. He worked either alone or with his wife. He know russian if that's something you are looking for :) I will definitely work with him again. read more
