The door to delete

Deleted an exterior door. Got a good quote for the exterior work but the contact was saying they would leave the door frame in place. I knew that wouldn't work but figured it was difficult to communicate about it over the phone. figured I would just wait until the day of to discuss further. Quote for the drywall patch was almost the same price so I passed but thought it was a missed opportunity for both. Two guys showed, dad and son, polite, respectful, and on time. Dad removed the security door and door, while son went to grab supplies. After the door was out, it was obvious the frame would have to go too, or the Stucco wouldn't sit slush against the existing surround. The guys on site did the right thing explaining that they had to or they could set the OSB against the framing to have enough room to get the rest of the patch material in. I was happy with the end result. The original contact reached out after I made payment via Zelle to ask if I had the guys do additional work. Felt a little off but knowing I wasn't seeking anything additional, just the exterior work done properly I stood affirmed that only the exterior work was completed. All in all I was content with the end result.

I called this company many times. I mean many many times because I was told they were really good. I have not received a call back from them. The only time someone picked up the phone and answered was approximately two weeks ago and the lady on the phone said she will text me back right away. Well, no text whatsoever. I then tried to contact them through their website. That's is not working either. I didn't know I was suppose to chase them in order to hire them. Apparently that's the case. Keep that in mind if you are waiting for them to call you back.

We hired based on good Yelp reviews and this company delivered. No regrets here. Hector is very nice, approachable and knowledgeable. He listens and gives recommendations. He gives updates on every stage of the project. A few recommendations he provided: have any painting done after skim coating right before stucco application; install gutters to protect walls and ground; have licensed electrician install new fixtures. The finished product is amazing and to our liking! I highly recommend Mr Stucco Man for your stucco projects.

This is the third project I have used this company. Super happy with them they do a great job no drama my wall looks great

The garbage they left during the two weeks they never showed.

We entered into contract on Feb 22. Since that day Hector and his crew have failed to show up 6 times on dates previously agreed on. He promised to deliver quality work with a Santa Barbara finish but what little has been finished (perhaps a 1/3) of the project has not been performed to the finish on the contract. What's more, he has left his garbage in my house (my entire driveway) for two weeks refusing to pick it up and forcing me to dispose of it myself (obviously at a cost). From the inception we have agreed that he would deliver a finished product before his trip which is April 22. What's more, he has demanded payments ahead of time. The contract states first installment would be 10% of the total project however, we were asked to pay a total of $23,648 on the first day (which is a misdameanor) . Subsequently, I got asked again by Hector to pay 50% of the remaining installment which would've been the date of completion , which he claimed was 7000. In fear of retaliation and with the threat of not finishing the job looming over us we paid $4,300. We overpaid to prevent the situation we are in now and here are. He came to correct the wall but unfortunately damaged my newly installed turf which was intentionally delayed so we could stucco wall first. What's more it's hollow so they will have to (the new people we hire) demo and restucco. This company has been a nightmare to work with. RUN We have hired a lawyer and gone to the board

Can't recommend Mr Stucco Man enough! We had a relatively small job in which we built a wall and we asked them to just stucco it and match the color to the house. Although they are a little backed up thanks to covid they came out gave us a quote and completed the job within a few weeks. We are so happy with the final results! The wall looks much better with the stucco added and it matches the house perfectly. If you need any stucco work this is a wonderful company in the San Diego area!

Initial damage; stucco started peeling off the entire wall

The entire process was wonderful from start to finish. Sean and Ismael were incredibly responsive, professional, and attentive to every detail. The quality of the workmanship was excellent, and it was clear that great care and pride went into every aspect of the project. One thing we especially appreciated was the communication. Every evening, we received a text outlining what would be worked on the following day, so we always knew what to expect and could plan accordingly. This level of communication and organization made the entire renovation process so much less stressful. Both bathrooms turned out beautifully, and we are thrilled with the finished results. The combination of outstanding craftsmanship, attention to detail, responsiveness, and consistent communication truly set this company apart. We would absolutely work with them again!

Like any major…read moreproject, we started by reaching out to a couple of vendors to get quotes, that's where we met Alon, the project manager for Lumina Builders. What immediately stood out to us was that he had ideas and solutions to address our pain points and make enhancements, we wouldn't have ever considered, and didn't just wait for us to tell him how we wanted things. He created a vision for us in that first quote visit. The other contractor we spoke to didn't provide any ideas just asked us how we wanted it. It was a very easy decision to go with Alon and Lumina Builders. Our project was estimated to take 2-3 months and ultimately took two and a half months to complete. We designed a brand new kitchen, addressing all of our concerns and adding a few recommendations from Alon to streamline some areas. They ripped everything out aside from the flooring and walls. We got brand new custom cabinets, custom lighting, and new countertops. Our fridge was moved to a new, more accessible area. Our sink was shifted down to align with the stove for continuity sake (never realized how much I hated it being in a corner previously). We had a new little cabinet built in our little breakfast nook area and we had an appliance garage built to house everything that took up counter space. Everything is so much brighter and more open and, even though we know the demensions are roughly the same, it feels so much wider. We are ecstatic with how everything came out. Alon is a genius. He was responsive to us throughout the project, checking in weekly to see how things were going, giving us peace of mind throughout this process, as first time remodelers. We were indecisive about the primary cabinet color (I was very worried we'd be stuck with something we didn't really like) but he worked with the cabinet makes to give us several samples to choose from. He was very patient with us. We LOVE how everything turned out! We'll definitely be using Lumina Builders for all of our future projects.

We went with Forever Builders, who also did some demo for us when we first moved in. Among other things, we 1) stripped and replaced the floor, 2) demoed the built-in tub and replaced it with a soaking tub, 3) replaced the vanity countertops, 4) installed a chandelier and sconces, and 5) installed a custom shower door. Steve was our project manager for the entire project, which took 3-4 weeks. We are so incredibly pleased with the result, and just as happy with the service and professionalism we received from Steve and his team. Steve managed every aspect of this complex project flawlessly, stopped by frequently to check progress and QC each phase of work, and was consistently responsive and professional. He took my calls on nights and weekends, and I always felt taken care of and valued as an important customer--such a rare occurrence these days. The craftsmanship was flawless too. I am a detail-oriented person and tend to demand perfection, and Forever Builders exceeded my expectations. As a bonus, they also installed a floating vanity for me in a secondary bathroom, as a complimentary part of the project. Since then, I have also asked Steve and Forever Builders to patch up a huge portion of ceiling drywall at my mom's house that was screwed up by another company, and they did an amazing job with that as well. You will not find a more consistently exceptional company. I'm a customer for life.

02/13/2026 Ben…read morecontinues to say their "inspection" found no active leak and claims the water must be coming from an exterior outlet or prior waterproofing. Based on that storyline, they're refusing to take responsibility for the flooring damage. The windows were installed without permits. I brought in four independent inspections, including three licensed general contractors and one home inspector. All confirmed active water intrusion and pointed to the window installation as the likely source. Despite that, Forever Builders continues to deny, redirect, and avoid addressing the actual installation. The floors never had water intrusion before the remodel. The problem started after their work. Instead of owning it and fixing it, they've chosen to argue technicalities and wait for CSLB to force the issue. For a company that promotes itself as 5-star, this has been anything but. When serious defects surface, there's no urgency, no accountability, and no effort to stand behind the work. Just excuses. That is not 5-star service. That is not what integrity looks like.

Review Update (2026)…read more I am updating my original 5-star review from a few years ago. At the time, we were very happy with our kitchen remodel and the overall experience working with Creative Design & Build. The project turned out beautifully, which is why I originally left such a positive review. Over the years, however, I noticed that one section of the flooring felt slightly soft when walking on it. At first, it did not seem serious, so we continued to live with it. Recently, the problem became worse and a section of the floor began to noticeably sink when stepped on and eventually a few edges of the flooring broke. At that point, I became concerned that it could become a safety issue. Because we still had plenty of spare flooring boards left over from the project, I attempted to replace the affected board myself. Unfortunately, I was unable to get the new board to fit correctly due to the locking system, and I could not restore the original board either. I then contacted Creative Design & Build for assistance. One reason I reached out was because our original project manager, Oded, had told us that if we ever had any issues, we should contact the company. I left a voicemail and later received a return call from a staff member. After I explained the situation, she said she would check with management and get back to me. A few days later, I received a text message stating that the warranty had expired and that no repairs would be covered. This was disappointing because I had never been informed that there was a four-year warranty period, nor was I able to find any reference to such a limitation in our contract. When I asked for details regarding the warranty and whether they could recommend someone to repair the issue, I did not receive any further response. There were two other issues relating to electrical and plumbing, however we decided to live with that until we had a major problem we needed fixing. I still appreciate the work that was done on our remodel years ago, and our kitchen remains a space we enjoy. However, I have been disappointed by the lack of follow-up and support when a problem arose. My advice to future customers is to make sure all warranty terms, coverage details, and expiration dates are clearly documented and understood before signing a contract.
