We are incredibly pleased with John and Garrison's work on our home. They've put in a tremendous amount of effort, diligence, and care to renovate our exterior beyond our expectations. Best Value - John's quote was among the most competitive quotes we received, but he set himself apart by recognizing the small details his peers failed to recognize. There was no cost overrun; he even put in extra work without additional charges. John operates in a lean team, does much of the work himself, and doesn't hesitate to use extra materials to ensure the highest output quality. As a result, work quality was impeccable! Dependable - We made it clear that waterproofing and completing the project on time were very important to us. John and Garrison would show up exactly on the dot every day and remain on track throughout the six weeks timeline. He even went above and beyond to double-waterproof our windows and help better insulate the home. Respectful - John took great care of our property during the project. He cleans up the work site daily and places everything back (light fixtures, cable wires, yard decorations, etc.) exactly where they were on the final day. We found some intense mold on the inside of our house, and the root cause ended up being that the previous owner hired someone who plugged the stucco weep screeds, which meant that water was collecting at the bottom of our home's exterior instead of draining out. Needless to say, the mold and water damage made for a very stressful situation. It oddly was difficult for us to find a good, reliable, and responsive stucco contractor, but ultimately we are so glad that we found and went with John Floyd. - His estimate was shockingly detailed (really showed that he was thinking through how he would work on our house specifically). - He was receptive to our specific requirements, like adding extra plywood and housewrap for additional protection from water - He had a very clear price breakdown and schedule with milestone payments - He was timely, tidy, and cleaned up after each day's work. Most of the time we couldn't even tell that work had happened, they were so neat! :) John removed the front 1/3 of our home's wood siding to replace it with stucco; and he also removed the plugged weep screed around the back 2/3 of our house to correctly install new weep screeds. We are so happy with the end result of our project. John was fantastic to work with. Our 45 year-old house was looking pretty dated, with wood shingles on all the street facing walls. John and his crew removed all the old wood, installed new furring strips where needed, new building paper and wire lath, then artfully applied scratch coat and stucco to all areas. After calling nearly every stucco company on Yelp and either not getting called back or getting flakes that would come out and then not follow up, I was starting to think I was going to have to do it myself. Then I called John. He was very communicative. He had an emergency to follow up on the day he was going coming by for the estimate and he called me to reschedule. John and Garrison are amazing at what they do, these guys are not contractors, they are skilled craftsmen. The quality is top notch, these guys did a higher level of quality than the other company I hired to do interior remodeling. John was very personable and asked all the right questions when he did the estimate. He explained the entire process, not just a "I'll send you an estimate", he actually took the time to explain the entire installation and materials used, textures and what demo would need to be done. No gimmicks, no up selling, he was straight with us and that is appreciated to no end. Cost was comparable to the other companies we received quotes from. He was able to squeeze us in the next week as walls were opened and there was concern of water intrusion with demoed stucco If it rained. He and son showed up on time, with all the tools, materials and equipment they would probably need for the next 5 jobs. No running to Home Depot here for hours at a time. Guys worked fast and efficiently. There was no running about wasting time like some other contractors like to do to kill time. This appears to be a family owned business and it shows. i didn't even have to ask them to tape and cover, first thing they did -prepped the windows with plastic, taped everything up and rolled out heavy duty ram type paper along perimeter of the house. they Left the area they worked in cleaner than it was! Quality was amazing, they do not cut corners, based on what I saw everything was done to code and very professionally. these guys have a system they follow and they did not miss even one spot of damage on the house, they demoed, installed wire framing where needed, pained bonding agent on, did the stucco coats and texture. once it's painted you won't be able to see where new stucco begins and ends. In total they did stucco around 4 windows and repaired failing stucco on 2 sides of the house. I must admit the rounded corners they did from rood to ground on the front bay windows are mesmerizing, they are so even and uniform that it looks like a computer rendering, You can tell these guys are professionals at what they do.
