We had several new lights installed on the back of our house, with two lights for each of our four…read moresliding doors. When our electrician did the installs, he not only had to cut the holes where the lights were going, but also had to do holes up near the top of the walls in order to fish wiring to both sides of the doors. On one of them he had to cut a long section out of the inside drywall because it couldn't be accessed from the attic since the ceiling is arched in that room. We had also had him move some of the existing lights so all the lights would be evenly spaced on all the doors. In addition, we had removed a shelf that had been built into the outside of our garage wall, and when we had pavers installed, I wanted to move the weep screed line down on our patio since we no longer had a raised deck, and lastly, we had removed two wall hose reels and needed small holes patched for them.
This ended up causing a total of 11 holes from the lights in our stucco that needed to be patched, fixing the weep screed line, patching the small hose reels holes, as well as patching up all the cracks and screw holes on the inside drywall,
I did extensive research to find a good stucco professional, having four places come out for an estimate, and received three quotes. One of them never bothered to send a quote, so he was definitely out as I don't feel I should have to hound someone for an estimate.
All of them did have good reviews, but Larry not only was the most competitively priced, he was also available sooner, with one of the places telling me he wouldn't be available until January (I got the quotes early to mid-November).
Since he has such great reviews, is fully licensed, and was available sooner, I decided to go with a Larry. He was actually able to do the work the same week I contacted him to set a date.
I'm so glad I went with him. The stucco work looks amazing, and the inside drywall patch, which was mostly done by his helper, Sergio, also turned out great. I am happy with the end result and I will be calling him back after we replace our front door next year to fix our stucco around the edge of our entryway from when we had pavers installed, and fix anything the door replacement may cause.
I also had them repaint and they did one coat, which should have had two coats, as there are spots you can see now that I'll have to touch up, and although they definitely protected our pavers and inside well, they could've done a better job of clean up as there are a lot of stucco pieces around I'll need to clean up better. But, the main thing I was concerned about was that they would protect our new pavers, and do good patches, which they definitely did!
Overall, I would highly recommend Larry for any of your stucco needs. He's a very friendly, laid back person who has decades of experience and definitely knows what he's doing as he was able to match up the existing stucco very well, which is not easy to do!
