Less than 18 months after having our roof re-done by RAA Construction Group (now called RAA Roofing), we've since had two separate roof leak incidents in Feb '24, and now again in Feb '25. In Feb '24, the roofer came out to fix the issue which involved them replacing the metal flashing around our HVAC system. We notified our solar company who subcontracted RAA Roofing that we had another leak, and they had someone from RAA Roofing come and tarp our roof before the next rainstorm came. However, what RAA Roofing meant by tarping the roof was to tarp our roof and the entire roof-mounted HVAC system. Imagine our surprise when my wife and kids got home after school/work to find the entire house smelled of noxious carbon monoxide fumes with our pets inside the home. They immediately opened all the windows, shutoff the HVAC (heater), and removed our pets and themselves from our house to let it air out. I called to complain and they sent the guy back out in the dark to get on our roof and fix the tarp. That could've ended very badly for us. The owner of the RAA Roofing, Mordechay Shaul, said his guy didn't know the HVAC system was a centralized (all-in-one) system which is amazing since this is the same company that re-roofed our house back in July 2023. I guess they forgot, huh? But honestly, who tarps an entire HVAC system like that leaving nowhere for carbon monoxide to escape? Not smart at all, it would've killed us all had we not noticed. A week later, the roofer came out to assess the cause of the roof leak and instead blamed it on our HVAC system which is less than five years old. I brought Mordechay into our home to show him the damage to our bedroom ceiling which I told him needed to be repaired, along with the insulation in our attic that got wet from this latest roof leak. He said they would need to do an asbestos test first, I agreed as it is an older home built in 1957 and hasn't been tested to our knowledge. I even gave the roofers our garden hose to water-test the roof around the HVAC system to see if they could determine the exact location of the leak only to have them abruptly leave our residence without telling me anything. When I reached out to the solar company, I got a long email back explaining that they had taken photo/video evidence of our roof and HVAC system and that the leak was not their fault. They said a seal was damaged and that was the cause of the leak. We regularly maintenance our HVAC through Service Champions though and they take numerous photos of our HVAC unit, the ducting in the attic, inside and out. We asked Service Champions to come back out a few days after the roofing inspection and Service Champions said it appeared there was a seal that was somehow torn, but it wasn't torn after the last Service Champions visit. We asked if the wind or something else could've torn the seal and they said no. So, it appears that RAA Roofing tore our HVAC seal to make it look like the cause of our latest roof leak is not their fault and to avoid having to repair it. We are now in the process of taking them and our solar company to court over this. I highly recommend that you avoid RAA Roofing at all costs. read more

Very rude sales reps have come to our home several times. I told the scheduler about the previous experiences and that I didn't want to waste their time or mine, but she insisted this time would be different and that they wanted one more chance to send a rep to the house to provide us estimates. The rep was rude from the start, but I allowed him to see the area of the home requiring work and I explained in detail what we needed to have done. He asked what our budget was, so I was honest in telling him the figure we have in mind. That's when he became even more rude and basically walked out. We already have gotten 2 other estimates for the amount I mentioned, so we will go with one of those other two contractors. The key is to find skilled contractors who work for themselves and not have to pay a whole team of people exorbitant prices for the same work. This company is trying to bully people into thinking that every bathroom remodel requires $20K - $30K...but I can honestly tell you... that is not the case. You just need to shop around. read more

Joseph is extremely professional, has high integrity, and works hard to make sure you are satisfied with the outcome. To me, these are the most important traits for a contractor and he has a bright future in the industry. I chose RAA to remodel two bathrooms and renovate an office after interviewing many firms. RAA was not the lowest cost, but Joseph was way more organized and professional than any other company. He clearly laid out every step of work, with a well written, detailed estimate and timeline. Our trust paid off as our project came through within budget with minor overruns, and on time as well. Joseph came to the job site every day to check on the work. When we did have issues with any aspect, RAA redid the job at no cost to us. If I do have any criticisms, its that 1) not all of their subcontractors are as detail oriented or careful as Joseph. We went through two grout companies, and re-grouted twice, but the grout still came out discolored in spots. However, Joesph's tile contractor is exceptional. 2) RAA didn't provide enough assistance in transporting materials from the store to the job site. We had to make many runs to buy and return tiles and other items. Other jobs I've worked on the contractor was responsible for picking up purchases as they have the time and trucks, and we will insist this be in the contract in the future as we just don't have time as two working parents. As they continue to build their business, I hope they maintain their high customer service, and continue to find the most high quality crews. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again for future projects. read more

Tommy came an hour late, Jonathan let me know 10 min earlier to the schedule appt that he would be there 20 mins late. When I called an hour later, he was surprised Tommy was not there. Tommy is what I would call a bad car salesman. He did not listen to what was being asked and add all fluff and no factual information. He did not take any measurements of his own. He pushed to try to combine my project with another he had starting in the area a few days later. Tommy told me he would do my proposal within 24 hrs and I never got one. I spoke with Jonathan the next day as a follow up and he was very professional with my concerns. He followed up later to let me know Tommy had told his boss some false information of the job. I'm sure Tommy is a fluke for the company, but if you get him-walk away. They claim I have a current job open and going on so they cannot get involved, however this is news to me as there is no current job going on. read more

Not only did we have an add-on that went to pieces with the last two heavy rain winters, but we also found colonies of black mold on the ceiling. Moti was actually the last one I met out of all of them, and all I can only say is that I am quite happy I didn't reach a decision before meeting with him. We're just finishing up a full kitchen re-model with Michael at RAA and have had a great experience. As promised from the beginning, Michael was available and communicative throughout the project. I got flooring reinstalled and my shower completely redone by RAA, and had a fantastic experience. The reason I went with RAA was that I felt like Moti genuinely cared about the client and the results of the job - as an inexperienced homeowner and my first construction job this was important to me as I knew I'd need some basic things explained to me and have heard horror stories about other construction projects. That initial impression from was kept consistent throughout the project by Josef. He was always thinking ahead about things that needed to be done, and was able to work around my busy schedule easily. In addition, he was patient with my basic questions and really took a wholistic approach with the project, doing whatever he could to have a successful project and happy client. I had experiences with other contractors in the past where I very much felt like I was being hung to dry, and were really difficult to get on the same page with to figure out what they needed and vise versa. I didn't have that problem at all with Josef - super great experience. The quality and speed of the work were definitely up to par, with good attention to detail and feel like the finished product is one that will last. My husband and I just completed a project with RAA Construction Group, and we are very happy with the results. Our project manager was Michael, and he did a great job from start to completion. We were only doing a partial/minor remodel of our master bathroom; so we were having trouble finding a company that would be willing to take on the small job (as opposed to a full, very expensive remodel). RAA demoed and installed new tile in our 2nd guest bathroom; and then demoed old stand-alone sinks, installed new light fixtures, did plumbing work (install & re-configuring), and installed our new double-sink vanity, medicine cabinet, and huge vanity mirror. I had RAA to resurface my kitchen cabinets and put in new doors. They did a beautiful job. You would think that resurfacing was easier but it's not. The easy way is to gut the kitchen and start again. The service that I got from my project manager Joseph was exceptional. I knew what was happening and who was coming every day of the project. When I would be worried about something Joseph would say "don't worry it will be fine" and it was. They give top notch service with project completion on time. This was my second project with them, the first was my bathroom. The subcontractors that they used come in, do their job and clean up.
