Was sent the wrong rotors from an error on R1 and had to pay for the shipping back. Knowing things can get mixed up and errors happen is not a big deal to me. But when you have to pay 50 plus to ship items back for an exchange isn't really good custom support. Worst business ever. They advertise a bunch of products on Amazon that they don't have in stock. They mark idems as shipped out even one and they don't have it and they will call you the day that is supposed to be delivered to tell you they can send the cheaper version of what you ordered at no extra cost and late. When I asked for at least priority shipping or to someway make this up to the customer they refused. I run a business and would never treat my customers like this. UPDATE: A manager named Joe Dang contacted me in regards to this issue and promptly issued my refund. He seemed very nice and accommodating and was sincerely apologetic. It shows that at least somebody truly values Customer Service. The reason I decided to buy brake parts from R1 Concept was because it was highly recommended by friends/coworkers that are car enthusiast as an alternative for affordable/reliable brake parts company. Even though my first experience with them didn't go smoothly, I'm at least confident that someone's got your back to resolve an issue. 3.5/5 fair rating This company is the worst company I've ever dealt or 'attempted' to deal with my entire life. 9/7/16: An order was placed by myself by mistake. I thought I had ordered a full rotor + pads kit from them thru eBay. Within 30 minutes I reviewed my order and contacted them right away, I was relieved when I found out they had a live chat system on their website. The person named Sheila that i chatted with made sure it will be investigated and promised me not to worry as they will cancel my order if it was not what I had intended to purchase. Next day, I received an email from a person named Albert, confirming the error, made sure that it will be cancelled the same day and that they will forward the issue to their financial department to have the refund processed. 9/12/16: Still, I haven't gotten any refunds back, contacted them again thru email and the same person Albert replied within hours, apologizing for the inconvenience and 'went ahead and personally made sure' he gets the refund issued the same day. 9/21/16: Which is today as I'm currently writing this. I got no more follow up from them, contacted them thru PayPal as well 5 days past with no replies. Now I'm left waiting out a few more days till I get the charge disputed off my card. read more

With the amazing photos of clients who use their brakes and the great reviews here, I'm super disappointed. I feel like the whole ordering process was great up until I gave them my money. It's been almost two months and I have not heard a single word about my big brake kit. I sent an email last month asking for an update, and someone said they'd get it to the sales team but I never heard back. The product seems great, but so far my experience has been less than stellar. For an $1800 sale, I would've expected some correspondence between now and then. Do I feel the product is worth the money? From what I've seen online, definitely. But it honestly feels like once they got my money, I no longer mattered as a customer. It could take 5 months to make these brakes, but I would still like to be kept in the loop. If I was close to California, I would've just gone in store, since it seems people have had great experiences in person. Update: they replied to my email and looks like my kit is finally about to ship. I will update this review and rating once the brakes come in. I'm still excited about the brakes, but the experience has waned my excitement a bit. read more

Very bad breaks followed proper procedures and they warped and one has the pad cut into the rotor really bad they are junk and will not take them back because they are used less then a day of use on them stay away from aftermarket rotors. They are made with bad metal stay with oem, factory spec. They don't except returns if used for a day how can you know if there defective or not until they are on read more

The shipping was fast and I got the correct parts. But the fit and finish of the front pads are not exactly OEM spec. I have a 2018 kia stinger with brembo calipers and there is a little bit of play in the pads that makes it clunk when going from reverse to drive. When in revers the rotor spins backward shifting the caliper down and when you put it back into drive the second you apply the brake it make a clunk because the pad shift back up. i took a video showing the play in the pad and customer service basically told me to kick rocks and that it is my cars fault when it did not do this with the OEM pads. I'm going with only 4 stars hoping my review won't be filtered out like so many other 5 star reviews?? But the bottom line is this: I put a set of the cross drilled/slotted rotors with ceramic posi-quites on my wifes 06 Accord after burning though the origional factory rotors in 50K miles in LA traffic. Fast forward 117K miles later and they are still fine--although we are on the second set of posi-quiets. We have had zero brake dust issues--almost none, and it's not all black either. Her car stops on a freaken dime too! My car is a '00 Mercury Mountaineer V8 w/ tow package. After buying a 22 ft popup camper and being so satisfied with them on her car, I put them on the fronts of my 'car'. I went with the posi-quiets too. I felt very safe pulling a big camper and having kids in the car too. 5 years later, the camper is gone, and so too (recently) is the Mountaineer. But the R1's went with it and the rotors were going strong. I don't really miss the ol' suv, as I traded in towards a new (to me) Mitsubishi GTS and am planning to getting a new set of R1's w/ the posi-quiets for my new car. I'm a pretty cheap guy, but am willing to even pay for the shipping costs to have them shipped up to Sacramento, as I've moved away from LA finally. But given that I know I'll be set for years to come once I get them on. Oh yeah, they freaken' look REALLY cool too..... Called Carlos, shipped wrong ones back and a week later I get the exact size as before. WRONG AGAIN !! 14 days later I've been on the phone with Carlos regarding refund as I couldn't wait or take a chance on a third time as my car had already been taken apart on the first wrong shipment. I ordered rotors and breaks, they sent my package and i never received a tracking # i called them the guy said il send you another 1 in 15 min. Never got it. 3 days later ups sent me a tracking number. I got my package and 3 rotors were wrong. I told these idiots to check twice to make sure the parts were correct. They disregard my notes with carelessness and ignorance! Cant expect nothing more from idiots in sewer town! If they would have looked the first time they would've found out the items were wrong! It was so clear a blind man could've seen the difference. They tell me well get the replacements out to you and they'll get to you quick cause they in so-cal. For my civic '07, I got the slotted rotors, looks nice and works well. My process went smooth, and everything fitted. easy replacement and I really like the slotted look. Lmao its not really needed for me, it was just for fun. Came back to get my boyfriend some rotors and pads for his truck. '06 Silverado, Everything fitted and having brakes again felt so much safer. Honestly, best brakes to get when you're doing the process yourself. I ordered both ceramic brake pad and rotors from them over a year ago and just got around to installing them. When I finally opened the box there were 2 front left rotors in the box rather than 1 for the right and 1 for the left. The mechanic was not able to install them. When I contacted R1 about the situation they refused to let me send one back and send me the right front rotor even after I offered to pay the shipping costs. Now I have 2 left side rotors and can't use them. Make sure you double check your orders immediately upon receiving anything from them so you don't get burned like I did. I waited 2 weeks to receive the brakes that I ordered for my car. I was told to pick them up in a 2-3 day period, when I called they said it wasn't there yet. few days later I called again, and nothing. A week later, I called again and they said that they didn't have it available and that they were waiting on Hawk to deliver the brakes. After two weeks I finally received my brakes in the mail. They were nice/professional on the phone, that's the only reason why I'm giving them 1 star. I really needed the brakes. I just think 2 weeks for some brakes is to long. I ordered a full set of rotors for a 2019 crosstrek, and not only was I sent hybrid rear rotors, they basically told me it was my mistake, and Instead of a replacement I was forced to pay 73$ to send it back to them through UPS, non refunded of course, just for the front rotors to be warped by the time I get the rear ones, basic conclusion, these rotors are trash, the customer service is worse, they don't honor warranties or appear to care for customer satisfaction. I placed an order Tuesday evening, 1/9/18 for front/rear rotors and pads for my WRX. The website mentions to allow 24-48 hours for a shipping label but since I ordered late in the day I decided to give an additional day. Friday 1/12/18, no shipping label, so I called R1 support and got a gentleman (can't remember his name) and was told they had to machine my rear rotors and since I was in California I should get my order by the following Thursday or Friday. 1/17/18 - no shipping label, so I called R1 support again and got a lady and was told my rotors were sent for zinc coating and that the coating company is behind due to a lot of orders. They're "really sorry" at this point. Okay, I understand things happen so I wait a bit longer. 1/22/18 - I get a voicemail from R1 and they told me my rear rotors are out of stock and "the best option is for R1 to send me my front rotors and refund my rear rotors." I thought... how is that a good option? What happened to my rotors were out for Zinc coating? I called back to get a full refund. At least the refund was fast. No where on the site did it say the rotors were out of stock. I never got an email for a shipping label nor an out of stock message. For two weeks I thought my order was on its way. read more
