We used R-Way moving for several moves and we continue to discover damage to our belongings. As the cost to repair these broken items continues to soar, my evaluation of their service diminishes proportionately. read more

I can't imagine a move of this magnitude having been smoother or easier. Chris Sr., Chris Jr. and the whole team were the most caring, efficient and well-choreographed operation I've ever seen. R-Way Moving has earned a big fan and my eternal gratitude. read more

We could not be more thankful for Chris and the whole team at R Way moving! Moving with 3 kids, and just having a newborn weeks before, these guys really took the stress out of moving for us. They are also the epitome of great communication and teamwork. We are so incredibly grateful for them, and could not recommend them more. They are worth every penny, and are by far the smoothest part of our move! read more

Best move ever! Cannot recommend Chris and his outstanding team enough. We moved from NYC to NJ last week and we're already mostly unpacked and organized thanks to their exceptional system. Let that sink in for a minute! 10 guys showed up at 7am sharp. Everything in our 1200 sq ft apartment was wrapped, boxed and loaded onto 2 trucks by 11am. We didn't have to lift a finger. In fact, we left! The team was at our new home by noon unloading everything. I showed Tony, the team leader, my vision for where everything was to go. He had a photographic memory for my furniture, and knew exactly what I meant as I was describing each piece. All was in place by 3pm. For me, the real test of character is when something goes wrong. As I was completing the walk through, I noticed that our new credenza was minorly damaged along one side. Nothing major, but definitely damaged. I personally saw this piece all wrapped up, so I'm not sure how it happened - it certainly wasn't for lack of carefulness on their part! But hey, it's a move - these things happen! I reluctantly mentioned this to Tony, and he not have been more graceful. He called Chris, the company owner, who instructed them to take the piece with them to get repaired. Back on the truck it went, and it's currently being repaired by someone who also does restoration work for Christy's auction house. They will deliver the piece back to us once it's looking like new. Talk about service! Don't hesitate. Book these guys. This was the best way to kick things off in our new home. You won't regret it! read more

All I can say is wow. Chris and (his very large, capable) team did a fabulous job- packing and loading in New York and delivering in Florida. They offered great advice (although imposed none at all) and had us thinking ahead in ways we hadn't known to do. I cant recommend them highly enough. read more

Rita aughanin, absoutely fabulous. dependable, courteous and fast. the best.

We contacted R-Way Movers after we read several glowing reviews about them on various online forums. We were so happy that we did. It was a stress free move from start to finish. To begin Chris was the only mover who inspected our apartment before providing an estimate. We're skeptical of online quotes. He broke down the costs in very precise terms and explained that they would refund a portion of the packing charge for any boxes that we packed ourselves. They provided the boxes the following week which gave us plenty of time to pack. On the day of the move they arrived ON TIME with a crew of 10+ people! As Chris explained to us moving is all about manpower. With Chris coordinating everyone's efforts it was an extremely efficient process. Within the first hour the first truck was packed and ready to go. By 11:30 am they were done packing and loading all of our stuff, and we were on the road. At the new house Chris brought in an extra crew who had just completed a nearby job, because he thought they were behind schedule (trust us they were not). They were done by 2 pm. Surprisingly what really impressed us was not the speed of the move. It was care with which Chris and his team handled our stuff. For example, in our new home Chris had all of his team members remove their shoes and put on booties to protect our newly refinished hardwood floors. As Chris explained it you can do everything correct but if you scuff the floor on the way out that is what the customer remembers. We were beyond satisfied with R Way, and we would highly recommend them to anyone. Their level of professionalism and customer care is unmatched, and it was an absolute pleasure working with Chris. He is a perfectionist, and you see it with his work. We wish all of our contractors were like R Way. read more

Definitely 5 Stars. Our coop apartment had serious water damage in exterior-facing walls and parts of flooring. In order to get the work done, we needed to be able to move stuff around a few times and send some furniture and stuff to storage. Not knowing anyone else who ever needed this particular kind of service, I searched the internet for companies that might do this kind of stuff - e.g., not your typical pack up and move somewhere else project, and that were also preferably located within a reasonable distance so we wouldn't have to be concerned with the company having to come over bridges or through tunnels or otherwise from some distance. I found a few that might be able to do what we needed and met the other criteria and made some calls. One or two simply gave an hourly quote over the phone. Only one company was interested in coming over to actually assess what needed to be done. That was R-Way. I first ended up talking to Chris Sr. I learned that it was unusual for them to get a customer that was not from a referral. I had a very nice conversation with him. Chris Jr. is who ended up coming to make an assessment. We had a few conversations over a week or two and finally settled on a plan and price. Due to the nature of the work that was going to be done and the fact that our coop was getting the contractors who would be doing the renovation work, we needed to wait to get official word of the starting date. Chris Jr. worked with us to be able to meet our needs, which changed a bit over about a 6-to-7-week period. Chris was part of the team almost every time that participated in the packing and moving and such. We were very impressed with the whole team of folks who came at various times. They were all nice and pleasant and helpful and efficient. We couldn't believe how efficiently they got stuff done. it was like watching a well-oiled machine. 5 stars. We highly recommend them. If we ever actually move somewhere else, R-Way is who we will call. read more

Cannot say enough good things about Chris and his team. Meeting with Chris in person to do a walk through at my old apartment immediately put me at ease. His personal touch and attention to detail is unparalleled. R-Way moved me in mid-May and have proven to be the only reliable, efficient and helpful part of my entire moving ordeal. They arrived on time to the nanosecond at 7am with a virtual army of capable, helpful, kind guys with smiles on their faces that had 20+ years of living in one place packed up from soup to nuts in less than 3 hours. We were loaded and moved in at my new apartment without a cardboard box or speck of dust to be seen before 2pm. I was sad to see them go! Even my new building management said "we've worked with R-Way before, you're in VERY good hands. Five stars plus! read more

If I could give them 10 stars I would! We have moved all over the country and within New York City. R-Way are BY FAR the very best movers we have EVER had. Ever. They have been in business for decades - a family company who stand by their word, are responsive and dedicated, and are some of the nicest people you could ever hope to work with. A dear friend recommended them to us, and Chris Rooney (the owner) came personally to our apartment to give us an estimate. On moving day, they showed up EARLY, moved us within Manhattan from one high rise building to another, in about 4 hours total. Nothing broken. Nothing lost. None of our wood furniture even slightly scratched. They even packed up our perishable food in the fridge and freezer, and we had it al unpacked in the new space as if it had been there the whole time. Incredible. I cannot recommend them more highly! read more

Not sure why they have 4.5 stars. If it was possible to give 10 I would have. Proficient doesn't even begin to explain this company. Chris and his team were professional, effective and efficient. They were early and ahead of schedule throughout the process. The guys on the team were genuinely polite and excited to help us move. Sounds silly but in this day in age you don't find that anymore. They made leaving our old home easy and stress free. We left with positivity. Handle with care does even quantify how they dealt with our stuff. They treated it like it was they own heirloom. The team was beyond pleasant to work with. I can't recall everyones names but Chris and Tony took care of us and they surpassed any expectations. They set the bar across the board. read more

I am very upset last year I moved to Manhattan R1way moving company employees were so helpful gentle and safe with all my stuff got everything to and from where I had to go perfectly but I'm very mad because the owner told me to put the money I want to tip all the employees into my payment and I left a substantial tip for the great Staff and I ran into one of the employees and was told they didn't get a single dollar unbelievable terrible place don't trust the owner!!!!!!! read more

I will never ever hire another moving company in my life as long as R way is in business. They are the absolute best. Neil and his crew did an absolutely phenomenal job moving me from our second floor apartment into a 4 story house. The care they put into my furniture was simply astonishing. Everything was wrapped and covered and the entire crew was such nice guys. Thank you Chris Rooney, Neil and all the guys for your amazing hard work. Also after the move the owner Chris gave me a call to make sure everything was well and to thank me for my business. That's great business right there. Already recommended them to two people I know who are moving soon. read more

This is my first Yelp review but I felt I just had to share my INCREDIBLE experience with the team at R-Way. My husband and I just moved within Jersey City and the team at R-Way FAR exceeded our expectations, we hope to use R-Way for all of our future moves. Their level of professionalism, speed, level of accommodation and communication is unmet. I had purchased a lot off of Facebook Marketplace before the move and they were able to arrange various pick-ups prior to our move. The team they brought were all friendly, talented and extremely efficient! They are the best!!!!! Don't hesitate, just work with them. read more

Recently moved from LIC to South Orange, NJ. Moving is very stressful and Chris (the owner) took the time to walk us through the process, pricing, and payment options. On the day of the move, his team showed up promptly at 7a with at least 10 guys, and we were packed up and on our way to NJ by 9:30a. We were unloaded by 1p and while we're still unpacking, we are impressed by how carefully and thoughtfully they packed up our stuff. Chris has followed up with us since our move to make sure everything is in a good place and we really appreciate how he handles his business. We would definitely recommend and use R-Way again in the future. read more

Not cheap, but worth it. Our move was quick, efficient and nothing broken. They work like a well-oiled machine. Really friendly movers and highly professional. read more

I cannot recommend these guys enough. They are true professionals and are courteous and incredibly helpful. There are a lot of hack movers out there who will promise you the moon and the stars for a couple hundred bucks and then gold brick you the minute they do something extra. Not these guys. They go the extra mile and don't take breaks. Their efficiency is shocking and they will minimize your moving stress. If you are hiring movers, look no further. Chris and his team are by far the best around. read more

Outstanding professionalism and service. They take amazing care of your items and do the job right. They arrived at my parents house at 6:30am to pick up some miscellaneous items and then headed over to our storage unit. The unit was packed up in a couple hours and then brought down to the UWS. They finished by 1:30. I can't say enough about how wonderful and courteous these guys are. All my conversations with Chris were informative and he was nothing but honest the entire time. I'll never move with anyone else. read more

I hired R-way to move us crosstown based on a recommendation from the super of our building. Chris Rooney came to our apartment for an estimate the same day that we called. He came back a couple of weeks later to bring us boxes (no charge). His team showed up at 7 am on the day of our move which turned out to be one of the the rainiest April days ever. All our furniture was carefully wrapped and delivered to us in perfect condition. These guys were hard-working, careful with our things and a pleasure to be around in spite of the challenging weather. R-way is the company to hire for a stress-free move. read more

Chris and his amazing team came at 7am, took our crazy kid-stuff filled apartment and boxed it up in no time. I was sitting in my new apartment with all the furniture rebuilt and the whole crew gone by 1pm. Everything was very carefully wrapped and packed. I was given R-Way's information and a glowing recommendation by a good friend and later learned that another person had used them twice and was highly recommended them. It was a great decision. Everyone at R-Way was delightful to work with. They were on time, friendly, professional and STRONG. They easily managed a complicated move, and really helped bring my stress level down. We were unpacking before we knew it! read more

R-way movers were great! We have 2 small children and moved from a 2BR UES apt to a house in lower Westchester. Needless to say we didn't have time to pack and got way behind. Chris Rooney and team helped take this stress away. I believe the company was started on the premise of trust and care. That is exactly what we got from them. The team arrived at 7am to start packing and the truck pulled away from our new location at noon! The staff worked hard and fast but with great care. We were extremely pleased with the service and highly recommend their services. Thanks again guys ! read more

Used R-Way movers for my move in NYC and will definitely be using them again in the future. I scheduled them last minute and they were still able to fit me in. I scheduled them for 9 in the morning (and they showed up early around 8) so I could start packing some of my personal things into boxes. When they came into the apartment at 9, they were quick and very careful about making sure everything was packed without damage. They were in and out in only an hour!!' They also moved me in to my new apartment a few days later and they were very flexible with the timing (they allowed me to adjust from a 9 am to 12pm move) and yet again they were very quick, very professional, and very careful about making sure everything remained in good condition. Great company and excellent movers!!! read more

My favorite movers. Over the past few months, five of my closest friends in NYC have moved and influenced one another to use R Way. Everyone is grateful. These are very special movers with great skill who take good care, and they are most efficient. How could I choose anyone else to move my 91 year old mother? I will choose them again and again. Thanks so much! read more

Highly recommend R-Way Moving. I have used them for two separate moves and have been more than satisfied both times. Efficient and professional. And fast! They will help you situate things any way you want and won't leave until you are completely satisfied with how everything is set up. Very trustworthy. You won't be disappointed! read more

Great - They packed our 1500 sq ft apartment contents (in 3 hours), stored it all for six months, and moved it into our new apartment. These guys are the best. They are fast (11 firemen working at once would be!); efficient, great to work with - even having to carry an 8' sofa up 11 flights. I would never use another mover! Worth the cost from the horror stories I've heard from others. And - the Super in our move-out building said he had never seen such good and efficient movers. read more

R-Way has moved us three times, and we will soon be calling them for yet another move. They are very professional, friendly, extremely efficient and careful. They handled all the packing, including packing some things for storage and some going to the new location, provided the materials, moved everything, and put things where I wanted them on the other end. At times hard to keep up with them, because there are so many of them working on the job and things are moving quickly, but all in all a great experience each time. Fair in their pricing and worth it for the quality they deliver. read more

Chris and his team were beyond fantastic. They moved my daughter from Murray Hill to the Lower East Side. They had the apartment belongings loaded into the truck in under 2 hours. When we get to the Lower East Side, my daughter could not move in because the apartment was not ready for move in. We were in critical mode. Chris said "Don't worry." They stored all my daughter's belongings in their warehouse for three weeks and then moved everything in (all in pristine condition) without issue. They even put her bed together! There are no words. Don't bother using anyone else. read more

What an absolute pleasure to do a move with Chris and his team from R-Way. One of the doormen in my building recommended R-Way to me and said hands down it was the best moving operation he had ever seen in our building (300 apartments so I can imagine he has seen the good, the bad and the ugly). The guys (all 10!) were all gentleman - letting my two young boys "help" them pack. We had an almost three week lag between move out and move in date and Chris was so accommodating - making what could have been a painful process as smooth as possible. Worth every penny. I wouldn't ever book a move with anyone else. read more

What a pleasure to have these guys move me . Went from Manhattan to Connecticut and all in one day. Great clean cut guys led by manager Neil who was a true gem. Would've given them a five star rating except for one thing I learned a few weeks later at a wedding. My son just so happened to be roommates with one of the part time workers at rway and to my disbelief after tipping generously to the owner Chris to be spread amongst the workers I came to find out by my son's friend that he keeps it . I was completely upset because these guys really deserved it for there flawless work . I now see why Chris kicked them all out when it was time to square off as he promised me that by giving him the rip it would be equally shared . NOTE TO ALL WHO IN FUTURE if you are happy with the service which I'm sure you will be , make sure you tip the guys individually because giving to Chris will be a loss cause and will go only in his pocket . Other then that I highly recommend this company ! read more

Hands down the most amazing movers ever! I have never seen a more efficient team in my life. Chris and his team are all very down to earth, hardworking, friendly guys. They were on-time and finished early. They packed ALL of our stuff from our one bedroom condo and storage unit, and moved it all into our new townhome taking care to wear booties when on new carpet or our newly stained floors. If we ever move again, R-Way is the only company we will be calling to move. Of all the money spent on purchasing a new home, renovations, etc. R-Way was hands down the best money spent in this whole project. They make your move look effortless and ensure its stress-free! Absolutely awesome! Friends had used them and raved about R-Way. Sounded too good to be true. We just moved from a big house to another big house a few hours away. Efficient. Pleasant. read more

R-way moving was incredible. I was braced for a stressful day. Shockingly, it wasn't stressful at all. The crew arrived at 8, just after I got my kids off for school (as planned) and by 1 pm, the R-way crew was gone, with furniture perfectly in place, beds set up, and rugs down. When my kids came home from school at 2:30, their beds were made and toys were in their rooms at the new house. It was seamless. Anything the crew deemed to be particularly important was placed in boxes with red labels marked "must find." They were also just a great group of people-- they are all clearly friendly with each other and they managed to demonstrate skill, efficiency and humor throughout-- lightening the mood on a day when my family really needed it. Our new neighbors even commented on the seamless nature of the move. I can't say enough good things about this company or Chris Rooney. By far, the easiest part of our move was the actual moving day-- how many people can say that? read more

I am late in writing this review, but I told the owner, Chris Rooney (a retired NYC firefighter and dad), that I would be happy to shout his praises from the rooftops. First of all, this is personal service, with Chris being at every job and his amazing employees being exceptionally polite and careful. Chris will personally come to your place to look at your belongings and give you an accurate estimate of the cost. He moved us from NYC to the suburbs last fall and they did a superb job. They not only moved our 2 br apartment, but a few days earlier, they even picked up a ton of stuff that we had in storage outside the city to load it onto the truck ahead of time. On moving day, he must have brought 15 guys with him, some were packing, some were moving between the apartment and truck, and others were loading the truck. Our 1500 sq ft apartment was packed and loaded into 1.5 trucks in LESS THAN 2 hours. You cannot ask for an easier experience than that. On top of that, his crew (made up of his main team as well as FDNY firefighters) were incredibly personable and thoughtful in the way they packed and unpacked our belongings. I mean, these guys took their shoes off when entering our home when we didn't even need them to--just nice, friendly people who also happen to work their butts off carrying very heavy furniture into homes, up staircases, and negotiating tight turns--all with absolutely no complaints--they joked with each other and seemed to have fun, too! While many other moving companies in NYC may be less expensive, you have to think about this in terms of value--how much do you value your time and your belongings? I always think about that triangle of three items: good, fast and cheap. You only get to pick two. Pick the right two and hire Chris Rooney and R-Way movers. The only lifting you will have to do is taking out your cell phone. read more
