I love pizza and am always looking to try new places. This place is delicious! There is a wide variety of pizza to choose from. I'm working on being more adventurous and this is definitely the place for that. My first visit I ordered the pepperoni. Sooooo good!!! We've lived in Eugene about 4 yrs now & have not been able to find good pizza. The one place we liked closed. We just tried R Pizza and it was delicious. I had the classic vegetarian, hand tossed crust, not too thick but crispy crusty the way I like, it had whole roasted garlic cloves on it with thin slice zucchini, onions, bell peppers etc. Delicious. The place is more of a take out but there are a few tables. My husband really liked his pepperoni pizza & Caesar salad, I had the Asian salad but they forgot the dressing, bummer. I made my own. First off, lets start with Service. I put in an online order for later pickup and due to an error the pizza and wings was produced far too early. I called up R and they were super accommodating and re-made the pizza and wings for me so they would be fresh when I picked them up. Great friendly service. As to the food, it was great. Had a pepperoni pizza with olives and onions and Garlic Parm boneless wings. Everything was flavorful and fresh, nothing was overly greasy. The wings were flavorful but not spicy, which is what I was hoping. Would definitely repeat this order again. The shop itself is a small hole in the wall place, but clean and tidy. Wow! This place has awesome pizza. Probably the best pizza in Springfield. The crust is perfect-- crispy, light, with the right amount of chewiness. So far we've tried the Paneer Tikka, BBQ chicken, and Ultimate Vegan pizzas and all were excellent. There are also the more traditional types of pizza for the less adventurous. We were in Eugene moving our son into his apartment and we're staying in nearby Springfield. Hungry for pizza after a long day of moving. I searched pizza places and R Pizza popped up. I called to see if they had dine in available and was told they have a small dining area. We headed straight there and let's say this place is small, I think there was 5 tables and we were lucky enough to grab one for three people. Me, my husband and sister decided to order out own individual size pizzas. One of the best pizza's I've ever. I had the classic vegetarian, my sister the hot Italian and my husband had pepperoni. All hand tossed. All perfect deliciousness! Flavor, crust and bottom of pizza had that perfect little bite. Toppings were abundant! Garlic, olives, onions, zucchini were just perfect in my veggie. Pepperoni was good size and had nice little spice to it. The hot Italian was like a mix of veggie with jalapeño, sausage , pepperoni great flavor combination. The personal size was perfect after a long day of moving. We even had leftovers to take with us for our early drive back to California. The guys in the shop were awesome too! Very attentive! The name does disservice to the variety of ethnic dishes available here. I rarely return to a restaurant but this one deserves reviewing and frequent visits. All food is prepared fresh, with everything from kimchi pizza to butter masala. The umami rice bowls are tasty as well as the naan breads! Wow!!! We absolutely LOVED trying R Pizza. My boyfriend saw your restaurant behind rooster coffee and we were soooo excited to try. He said the ambiance when he went to pick up had a "glow" to it! The pizza was AMAZING. The toppings were excellent, cheesy heaven, and a very nice crust. Not too greasy. Yummy yummy garlicky ranch. We will definitely be regulars at R pizza on weekends. I'm reluctant to even give 2 stars and truly hate giving bad reviews. Besides my husband did like his basic burger, so there is that. I on the other hand ordered a carnivore salad plus added an extra protein of Bacon. The menu says the salad contains Shredded romaine, tomatoes, onions, olives, ham, capicola, salami, pepperoni, bacon, croutons, and garlic ranch. My first salad only came with the extra bacon I ordered but non of the other meats listed. They also messed up the drink order. My husband ordered a Hibiscus mango tea and I ordered a mango lemonade. We received 2 teas. I called and asked about the salad, confused if it only came with 1 of the meats listed since I had asked for a bacon protein to be added. She said that it should have had all the meats listed. She said that she would have the salad remade and I can pick it up along with the mango lemonade. I was impressed with the friendly service and their willingness to make it right. I came in and the lady at the front handed me my bag and added that she had "Doubled checked it was right" I even tipped a second time. Thinking they had great customer service and I also felt bad for complaining. My big mistake was I didn't check it. I got home and not only did it not have any of the meats listed again it didn't have the Bacon protein I Initially paid extra for. The Mango lemonade tasted horrible. It was thick and sour. It was more like an unripe mango that was pureed and they forgot to add the lemonade or any juice for that matter. I didn't bother calling a second time. I guess because Fool me once shame on you Fool me twice shame on me. I was looking for pizza one day and I came across R Pizza. I looked at their site and saw they had great reviews so I decided I wanted to try their pizza one of these days. Well, one of these days was this past Sunday evening. I love a good combination pizza and I saw none of their menu. So I decide I'll pick up the phone, call, and talk to a real human. A very nice young lady answered and her name was Christine. I told her my dilemma and asked what could be done about it. She very nicely explained that what she suggests for customers to do, is to order the vegetarian pizza and simply order the meats I wanted to top it with. Their vegetarian pizza looked good on their site so that exactly what I did. I added pepperoni, salami and sausage. I did not know this was a "to go" place, and had no dining area, but that was okay with me as we wanted to take it home and eat there anyway. OMG, it was great! I wish I had taken a picture of it before we dove into that bad boy! I highly recommend R Pizza for those who want a unique and delicious pizza! read more
