We go here all the time. We love it. Breakfast is always excellent. Salads are awesome. The chicken parm grinder is about the best thing on earth. Entrees are wonderful. This is a diner, not a coney island. The waiting staff is always friendly and warm. And the restaurant is clean. Absolutely no complaints. read more

Every single meal I have eaten in this diner has been great. They have amazing omelettes, wonderful homemade breads, an amazing menu that makes it easy for anyone to find something they like. The broasted chicken, the schwarma, it is all devine and the people who own the establishment as well as running it are some of the best in Monroe County! read more

I always order takeout for breakfast or lunch. Breakfast prices and the amount of food they give you is good for 2 people. Smothered chicken for lunch was really good. Chicken and waffles were my favorite next to any breakfast item! read more

Line out the door we got seated within 5 minutes and our drinks followed. Our waitress got our orders quick. Got the stuffed green pepper soup and it was amazing!! Clean friendly and fresh food. My Greek salad was good but I wasn't crazy about their dressing..but very fresh. My husband really liked their rice bowl and my daughter enjoyed her Swiss mushroom burger. read more

You will be charged a 15% convenience fee if you use a credit card to pay for your meal. There's no mention of it on the menu, you won't find out until you receive your bill. Not good business. read more

Good food, great service, large portions. The owner will add $1.50 to your bill if you pay with a card, which I think is very petty and cheapskate. read more

Great diner with quick service, a large menu and tasty food. The pancake portion is generous and enough for two meals. The Monte Cristo was piled high with ham, turkey and eggs, with thick French toast slices. A great spot in town! read more

FANTASTIC eggs Benedict with potato cakes! Hungry man breakfast very good , minus the hash browns very stale tasting and chewy. We had a great waitress!! and the atmosphere we nice and clean. Nice addition to Monroe Will definitely return read more

Poor service, the food was even worse. The server wanted to argue about how my order wasn't on the menu, but it's simply a 3 eggs with a waffle instead of a pancake. She was rude, didn't ask if I needed anything when my food was brought out- I had to walk around to find mustard at another table. The food was awful and cold. read more

Loved the brunch. Service was great. Our waitress was the sweetest. Food came in pretty quick and was delicious.

Friendly service, awesome food, and you always take some food home with you because you really get your moneys worth. You can't eat it all there is so much food. The menu is huge. If you are hungry for something and you don't know what you want. I am very sure that you will find something to eat from their menu and be very satisfied read more

Quite possibly one of the best restaurants in Monroe, delicious breakfasts. Amazing burgers.. and their oasis platter is fantastic.

the best chicken strips in town!!!!!!!! and best homemade cookin !!!!! i love r diner we go weekly.

Amazing food! The flavors are there! The pickles are the homemade dill taste, with dill in the batter too. The mushrooms were huge and fresh, so good! The best homemade ranch and tartar sauce. The turkey was moist and fell apart, all the flavors are there. The perch is AMAZING! Hands down the BEST fish I've had in forever and when I said fried hard, they did just that. The mashed potatoes and gravy were good, only downside is not enough for both dinners in my opinion, I put it on my stuffing as well. The stuffing I honestly didn't care for it's more mush, needs more texture and veggies. The coleslaw is very good as well, reminds me of my favorite up north. The inside is like a normal Coney Island tables and booths, very clean. The service was amazing all the girls were very friendly and tentative. The manger handed me my food I believe, everything was packed correctly and missing nothing. Will definitely be back to try so much more. read more

Very good diner, great for bringing family in the morning, they have a large booth. When I went they were super packed but we got are food about 7-10 minutes after they asked for our orders!! Great diner! Also a great choice of menu, i got the farmers omelet but the only thing I didn't like was about much green peppers were on there, but the gravy on the side was very good! read more

Breakfast menu is creative. Food was delicious. Portions are for hearty breakfast or sharing. Staff is quick funny and kind. Restaurant was clean and spacious. read more

Watch out they charge $1.50 if you use your credit card. There are no signs stating this except a tiny one at the checkout. It shows up as a convenient charge on your credit receipt. If I had used my credit card that would amount to a 20% markup. The restaurant should post this on the Menu. read more

Service was good, food was good, portion size was amazing. The price was a little high for a local Diner, but they made up for it with the portion size. I would return here for sure. read more

Found R Diner when visiting Monroe recently, and were we glad we did. Had a very nice lunch. Large and varied menu: items ranged from egg dishes to pancakes to sandwiches and salads. I got the Quesadilla with scrambled egg and veggies - quite good, more than satisfying. Co - diner got - and enjoyed - the turkey sandwich. He pronounced it to be "a good, solid sandwich." Friendly and efficient service added to the positive experience. All in all, would recommend R Diner to anyone visiting the area. With the development of the River Raisin battlefield site on the horizon, that number could well be about to increase. read more

We stopped here for the first time on a Saturday morning. The restaurant has an appealing exterior, has ample parking and is nicely landscaped. The seating area was nearly full, but the hostess greeted us and seated us quickly. The waitress appeared , our drink orders were taken, and we scanned the menu. Our drinks appeared, orders were taken by the pleasant server. We all ordered 'specials' which proved to be an excellent choice of flavor and quantity. Overall, the experience was terrific a 'must try' place. read more

Always great food and great service and very clean and sanitary. I love all staff and guest have face coverings on

Great service, great food anytime you go. I've never had a bad meal nor service. Pricing is reasonable too.

Ordered a hot Turkey sandwich. The turkey was processed even though they said it wasn't, then they put beef gravy over it for some unknown reason. Couldn't stomach it and went somewhere else for dinner. And it only cost $11 to walk out hungry. No apologies from the staff. You have been warned. read more

Only complaint would be that you need to pack your patience when picking up your "to go" order because of how busy the wait staff is. . . . . never had anything less than a great meal either dining in or to go! read more

Love this place! Great service, Great Food, Never have been disappointed for an old-fashioned, comfort food, type of diner. Need a larger place tho, always busy and hard to get in at times, but that's always the sign of a great place. Keep up the great job! You have my business! read more

Love this place! It's a family diner that treats you like family! We drive about 20 minutes to get here when we have somewhere that's like 5 minutes from our house. The hash browns are great, the chicken Greek salad is amazing! The home style chicken is amazing. Love how they put shower curtains from their ceilings to ensure they can use more booths and be safe. Haven't had a bad meal here. read more

I have always enjoyed R diner and never had reason to complain, however recently I placed a delivery order and had the wrong order arrive. I called the restaurant and explained we had someone else's order and a few minutes later the delivery driver arrived with our correct order. The problem is, they took back the food that they gave us initially. We are at home sick and we told him that it was opened. He replied "I've gotta get the right food to the right people". Food should not ever be returned and then given to someone else. That's extremely unsanitary! This makes me concerned about their practices in general now. read more

Found this place on Yelp for breakfast. It did not disappoint! I had Irish Eggs Benedict (corned beef instead of ham) and it was awesome. My son had the southern platter and loved it--a lot of food though. A cup of coffee and a side of toast with that totaled $21.69. Not bad at all. I don't know when I will have a chance to be back here but I would definitely do it again. read more
