The front office phone reps were all great as is the service tech that has come out the last three times. I just wish I didn't need to adjust my schedule to accommodate all of these visits. This was by far the lowest quote we got but it was that and the professionalism that made us choose them. The crew was great - fast, efficient and very, very skilled with Hardie board siding. We had several other projects done at the same time and each contractor commented on how well the Hardie was being installed. They kept us informed and communicated well when there were questions or decisions to be made. The entire project was done in six working days, clean up with thorough and we are 100% satisfied with the results. My husband and I hired Energy Exteriors NW for a Milgard sliding door installation, and months…read morelater we're still dealing with the fallout, both from the door itself and from how the company has handled it. The install, twice: The first crew (7/30) installed the door with the frame out of square and the handle missing a part entirely, so it couldn't latch, rattled constantly, and had an inconsistent gap against the frame. They also cut out the old door and frame without putting down any protective sheeting, so concrete board dust (a fiber-cement material containing silica, an OSHA-regulated health hazard) covered the interior of our home, especially our kitchen. When the Project Manager inspected the door the next day, he confirmed the frame was installed incorrectly and promised to reinstall it properly. The second crew came back to redo the frame and reinstall the door (8/03), and while removing and replacing the trim and frame, they damaged our exterior siding. Erin offered to send her own crew to fix it, but after what happened during that reinstall (below), we didn't want any more of her installers in our home, so we're handling that repair ourselves. The incident: During a follow-up visit (8/04) to address ongoing problems, I pointed out that the door still wasn't right. One of the installers snapped at me in our kitchen: he shook the door hard, smirked, and yelled "YOU DON'T LIKE THIS?!" at me repeatedly, then suggested he could just remove the security lock if the rattle bothered us. My husband told both installers to leave. Ownership's response: We called immediately. Owner Erin didn't call back until later that day and showed no real concern. She followed up with a lengthy, polished email questioning our account of the incident, since our home security camera only captured the outside of the house, as if that meant what happened inside couldn't be trusted. It's a telling response from someone whose installer had just screamed at a customer. Where things stand now: Milgard has since come out to inspect the door as a warranty matter, and confirmed that the rattle and stiff latch are common on a large, custom 7.5-foot slider like ours (something we were never told when we ordered it), and that there's nothing more to be done about either one. The scratch on the interior glass, which appeared during the first install, will finally be repaired next week, months after the original install. One more thing worth knowing: their contract includes a non-disparagement clause instructing customers not to post negative comments online. That kind of clause is illegal and unenforceable under the federal Consumer Review Fairness Act of 2016. Its presence alone tells you how this company intends to handle complaints. (Not a lawyer, but this is well-established consumer protection law.) If you look through Erin's responses to other critical reviews here, you'll see a pattern: she replies to nearly every negative review personally, and instead of taking accountability, she consistently questions or minimizes the customer's experience. That's exactly what she did with us. We wanted a door that worked like a brand-new door should, an intact house, and honest communication. What we got was a door we still have to fight with every time we use it, a house we're repairing ourselves, and a company that was never straight with us. Do your research before hiring this company, and think twice before signing a contract with a non-disparagement clause in it. You can save yourself a lot of time, headaches, and potential damage by hiring a company with careful and professional installation crews, and managers who aren't (seemingly) motivated by a compulsion to always be right, even when they are demonstrably in the wrong and making mistakes left and right.

I ordered an SDL French exterior door with two sidelights for nearly $8,000 (installation was an…read moreadditional $2,500). Matt, the salesperson, was great throughout the sales process. Unfortunately, everything went downhill after the installation began. The door arrived with a broken pane, gouges, peeling primer, and large globs of adhesive in all four corners of each of the 35 divided-light panes, which would make painting the door extremely difficult. The installation itself was equally disappointing. Throughout the day, I raised concerns about a number of issues, including a bouncy threshold (part of it appeared to be plastic), poorly finished interior trim, damage to my cedar porch floor, a crookedly installed handset, and exterior trim that was uneven in width despite originally being a consistent 4 inches. The installer placed a 6'9" 5x1 cedar trim piece on top of the side trim without securing it, and it fell from a height directly on my head, leaving me with pain, dizziness, and a large bump for 2 weeks. By 6:00 p.m., I asked the installer to stop. The exterior trim was still unfinished, there were gaps of at least 1/4 inch in the interior trim, the door sweep was loose, and blown-in insulation was falling from the gap in top trim, and a large piece of plaster came off from trying to place the door in place. The interior trim had been attached to my lath-and-plaster walls with what appeared to be brad nails, which did not seem adequate to securely hold the trim. I could easily move the trim after it was installed. The next day, Rob, the installation manager, came to inspect the work and took photos. I explained everything in this review above to him. That was two weeks ago. Since then, I have been unable to get any meaningful update despite multiple attempts to contact the company. I emailed and texted the owner without a response, emailed the operations address, and still couldn't get either a response or Rob's direct contact information. I was also told I would receive a call today, but no one reached out. At this point, I'm still waiting to hear what the plan is to correct these issues. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company. For a project of this cost, I expected much better workmanship, communication, and follow-through. UPDATE 7/14/2026: I finally received an email from "Operations" requesting my availability for an onsite inspection of the door with the local vendor. Unfortunately, I am still unable to communicate directly with Rob, the operations manager, or the owner of the company. Instead, all communication continues to go through the administrative staff. Initially, the emails were signed with the administrator's name, but they are now simply signed "Operations." I also received emails on a Sunday evening outside of normal business hours. Rather than communicating with me directly, management continues to rely on administrative staff as the intermediary. I find this frustrating because it makes resolving the issue more difficult and leaves me without direct communication from the people responsible for handling my concerns. At this point, I remain disappointed with how this situation has been handled. I hope the onsite inspection finally leads to a resolution.
