Randy (the owner) came highly recommended by an 'old school' Milguard windows guy in retirement. That was five years ago and I'm still thrilled with my 'new' windows. Our 14-unit condo building is self managed, so getting everyone on the same page is sometimes difficult. We set ourselves a 5-year timeline for all windows to be replaced. Most owners did it the first year and the other owners have followed over the years. I tell the story because Randy and his crew have been patient, professional and knowledgeable throughout the process. Our building is stucco and has special issues with replacement. Two of the units had problems with the windows right away. The issues were most likely related to the original building construction but Randy sent his crew back no questions asked (and no charge of course) until the problems were resolved. Most recently, I needed some re-calking in the bathroom and Randy sent someone to do it at no charge. The worker checked all of the other windows while he was here. Response to phone and email is sometimes a bit slow but I think he deserves 5 stars anyway. He is an owner-operated business and gets back to you as soon as possible. Approx. Cost: $850.00 Work Description: We called R & L to give us an estimate on three windows that were a part of a garden window. Randy asked if we could provide him with the measurements of the glass pieces and he asked about the window's construction. I provided him the measurements and he gave me an estimate of the installed windows. The estimate was reasonable and we accepted. He called the following day to schedule a visit to come and check the measurements and two days later the windows were built. He set a tentative date for window installation (2 days after his visit) and weather permitting the windows would be installed. His work team (2 people) showed up at the agreed time - although it had been raining that morning, the rain had stopped and so the work commenced to remove and replace three panes in the garden window. His work crew set up, did the replacement, cleaned up and left within an hour and a half. The rain held off until they were finished. Both guys were polite and professional and safely replaced the glass. The glass replacement has a 5 year installation warranty as well as a 10 year warranty for the panes themselves. Randy and R&L were great. I had received two quotes from competitors before contacting Randy. Both competitors came in at a higher price (about $1,000 more) and provided less information. Randy showed up on time, provided multiple product options, and explained why I would be interested in each product. I appreciated his customer focused approach and felt that he had my best interests in mind the entire time. He had an opening in his schedule and was able to get our project done a few weeks ahead of schedule. Randy's crew was fast and clean, no complaints. He also took the time to follow up with me after the installation was complete and provided thorough documentation to make the PSE rebate process easy. I had a home built in '56 with a large 9' x 5.5' front window that needed replacing. I attempted to get quotes from a couple of long established window companies and either got the runaround, or didn't get a call back with a quote. In a Google search, I found R & L Windows. Tasha, the company owner, came to our house at scheduled time and measured our 13 windows for a quote. There was no pressure or aggressive sales tactics. The quote was priced fairly and easy to understand. Randy and crew came on the scheduled day and returned daily until finished. Our old windows were embedded and hard to remove.
