I found Acamar Computer Services on Yelp and decided to contact Evan based on his excellent reviews. Everything I read was accurate! After explaining the urgency of my situation, Evan was able to see me that afternoon. During the consultation, I mentioned that I was prepared to hear that I needed to buy a new computer, considering I had purchased mine in 2021. However, after just a few minutes, Evan informed me that my hardware was in good condition. He only needed to address the "software bloat" to get my computer back in order. He also assured me that once this was done, I would likely have another two years before needing to worry about replacing my computer. We spoke on a Friday, and he kindly asked if I needed my computer back over the weekend or if I was okay leaving it for him to start working on it the following Monday afternoon. I chose to wait until Monday so I could finish a few more tasks. I dropped off my computer on Monday evening and picked it up the next day. Evan took the time to explain in detail everything he had done and how each change improved my computer. Evan is extremely talented, efficient, and a pleasure to work with. His pricing is very competitive and well worth every dollar spent. His primary focus is on delivering exceptional customer service, which is exactly what Acamar provides. So this 5 Stars is fully for friendliness and integrity. Sure he could have came out and charged couple hundred (probably mostly for driving) as the vendor's tech was in and out in 5 minutes. Then I have a trip coming up where I need to bring my equipment to work off location. My hard drive died the night before and he contacted me pronto to help. He saw me the next day where we met to confirm my laptop was dead on arrival then I ran to get a new laptop where he took it and made come to full life. Full life meaning he saved my old hard drive, my software and set-up better processes for me to use. When I say software, we're talking Quickbooks, Adobe, and Office! Yes I was stressed. But knowing Rodney was on the job, I was sound. And I had my new laptop back and I was up and running that afternoon! This is an updated review as I worked with him back in 2016. He helped me figure out how to print and scan on my Brother printer using their Command Center (that Center is wonky to use). Then helped me with it again and my new HP as again couldn't get them to both scan. I gotta scan and print for my biz. He came to my place after he finished his current appointment. After explaining the issue, he gave me a flat rate that was very reasonable. I've used the Geek Squad in the past and they've charged me 3-4 times his rate (Geek Squad is a total rip off). After an hour, he removed my spyware and fixed a couple other items on my computer too.
