I have been long awaiting the return of the fried mini sausages as my friend has been raving about them for a while. They kept pushing back the time of the return and this weekend when we called they finally said they had them in store. We got 2 orders of fried mini sausage with pepper salt seasoning. In my opinion the fried sausage was not the best and was just very salty. I have also had their fries and chicken before which are also pretty ok and there is a good selection of seasonings. Their boba is where it starts to go down hill. If you watch them make their boba in store particularly on summer days you will notice that they don't make the drinks fresh. They will scoop your drink out of large containers of slush or tea depending on your order and you can taste that the drink isn't that fresh. The boba pearls are also never fresh and also visibly look discolored and old most of the time. (If you do end up getting fresh pearls it's like winning the lottery). The store itself is kind of run down and also has pretty quick service. They eliminated their 50 cent student discount but they are still a pretty cheap spot to go to for boba or a snack. read more

I remember always looking forward to a bubble tea from Quickly's. It's hard nowadays with the upcoming of specialty bubble tea shops. Though the price for a medium cup of milk tea is only $3, there's a reason for that. The tea is standard, the bubbles have no flavor and are slightly on the harder side. I forgot to ask for less sugar so the drink was very sweet. I got the hazelnut milk tea because that's not really common in a store like Kung Fu or Xin Fu Tang. Quickly has been in Elmhurst and running for years now. Their boba drinks are great for the summer as well as their food, and its pretty inexpensive. I consider myself a loyal costumer, therefore writing this feels weird. I have recently been introduced to their mini sausage, but every time I would attempt to order, it wouldn't be in stock. Finally after a long wait, the mini sausages were in stock, and they didn't even taste good. They were drenched in oil, the salt and pepper seasoning (my favorite) was overly seasoned on it and straight up tasted like a clump of salt with oil. Majority of their food are fried in the oil fryer such as the fried crispy chicken, mini sausages, fries, etc. During my recent visit, I was looking at the process of preparing the food and drinks, I honestly don't know how they passed a sanitary inspection. When they prepare their drinks, the flavor for drinks are all put in a fridge and look like they've been there for days, makes sense on why the drinks taste a bit bland and not fresh. The worker is short and Asian for the most recent encounter which was tonight. Whoever worked on July 12, 2019 during night shift (9:50 PM) was rude and had a bad attitude, over the phone AND in person. She spoke to me and my boyfriend with frustration. TLDR: I went to Quicklys because I have been craving it, and even though they were supposed to be open at 10, when I stopped by at 11:30 NOTHING was ready and I left empty handed. I guess if you go try going in the afternoon :/ I've been CRAVING their taro bubble tea and fried chicken after not having it for years, so when I was in Forrest Hills I went out of my way to stop by. I ended up going around 11:30 (about an hour and half after they were supposed to be open) and nothing was ready. At first I didn't even think they were open because all the displays for the menus were off but the door was open and there was someone a guy standing by the register on his phone. The person working confirmed they were open but when I was in the process of ordering (taro bubble tea & fried chicken) he said the boba wouldn't be ready for another hour, and the chicken wouldn't be available for another 30 mins to an hour as well. I figured I could just get a taro milk tea, with no boba but weirdly he just repeated the boba wouldn't be ready for another hour, so I explained I just wanted the milk tea without boba but he kept repeating the boba wouldn't be ready for another hour. At that point I couldn't tell if he kept misunderstanding, or maybe he meant the taro milk tea also wasn't ready but it was awkward so I ended up leaving empty handed. I haven't had Quickly in a while. Ever since their Manhattan location on Grand Street closed down many years ago, I've been paying $5+ for my bubble teas. I was in the area today and decided to grab myself a $3 medium bubble tea from here. Their bubble tea wasn't the best that I've had, but how many places do you know of where you can grab a decent bubble tea for under $5? The tea was pretty strong and the bubbles were soft, slightly sweetened and chewy. Overall, Quickly is a solid spot to grab inexpensive teas and snacks. There isn't really any seating in this venue, so this is mainly a grab-and-go place. You can even add extra bubbles to your drink for no additional charge! read more
