Last time I was here, you had to check in at the kiosk, no person to actually help if you had issues. I did not. However, I watched two people come in and have trouble. One rang the bell and the lady just kept telling them to use the kiosk, and when they said they were trying she kept saying use the kiosk, use the kiosk, use the kiosk. The person gave up and left. The second person needed help and after watching that, I helped. I was able to help them get their license scanned and checked in. This person was not a English first language, the lack of help was appalling to me. Then the billing. I have visited several times and not showing payments posted. I called and asked for a statement of account. Any provider should be able to provide this, it is a list of services and payments. I was told I would be sent the statement, what I received was individual copies of bills. I noticed a payment was not posted, I called back and the person, says, "there is another bill". (Why do I not have it, I thought) I said I requested a full statement of my account. She said, "we don't do that, we can only send copies of individual bills" so I asked again to have a copy of every single bill sent so I can reconcile to make sure my payments are posted. I am now waiting for that, but I will not use Quest ever again. It is ridiculous that they can't print one statement for me with everything and they way they treated people in person was degrading. Time to reward myself, going to Wheatberry Baking Company; see other reviews. Atmosphere - Small location. Plenty of parking. Open 5 days a week, Mondays to Fridays from 6:30am to 3pm. Again, I think I was the first customer at 9am?!?! Service - Mostly self service. Again, online appointment, self service kiosk. Online results. Slight issue with the kiosk for me and the lady behind me. Nothing a restart could not solve. On time appointment. I was the first customer I guess. :) Daisy was very professional and knowledgeable. She even shared, due to their increase in business, they will probably get a second self service kiosk. Again, I was out of there in approximately 2 minutes. Walk-ins are welcomed, but I highly recommend making appointments. They had 10 appointments from 9am to 10am. January 20th I had a blood draw at the McCarran location and this was the worst experience I have ever had on a blood draw. The technician stuck the needle in so hard it caused severe pain. She then put a gauze pad on to stop the bleeding and held it in place with a tape that was more like clear packing tape than the kind they usually put on that comes off gently. When I got home I removed the gauze pad and the tape was stuck on so tight that it was painful to remove. I then saw a huge bruise where she did the draw. Later in the day, the site started to swell up and got very hard. I tried to call the office to see if they thought I should go to Urgent Care to have it checked and there is no direct line to the office. This will be the last time I use Quest. The phlebotomists were literally yelling from one room to the next just gossiping the entire time. Told me to have a seat and didn't even lift up the arm of the chair. Didn't ask which arm I wanted to use and just stuck me without any warning. Blew my vein out like they do every single time I'm there as well. Made my appointment online and had to reschedule a couple of times due to 2023 inclement weather. But all is good, yesterday, I was in and out, first customer of the day. This is type of business if your visit goes well, most are typically not going to write a review on it. Maybe it was because I had the last time slot (2:30) on a Friday but my experience was great. Arrived about 10 min before my appointment and checked in on the tablet. No one else waiting. One customer was finishing up. I made it a point to be patient and friendly. I imagine this job can be challenging at times as people typically don't get blood tests unless they have health issues so a lot of customers probably aren't in a good mood to begin with. I just like to check a few key vitamin levels once a year and you can get it done here through Ulta Labs for a lot less than you have to pay at my doctor's office (Renown.) I had to wait about 5 minutes. Then another 5 in the room while Amanda was logging some other draws. I think she was the only one working. I'm typically difficult to get a good vein and Amanda was great and used a pediatric butterfly needle in my hand and I barely felt anything. I imagine you have to exercise some patience when they are busier though. read more

My first time at this lab. I had a TB test taken in Carson a few weeks ago, and unfortunately the specimen was sent to Tennessee .. And unfortunately, the test didn't make it in the 48 hour time frame.. It's all good... I booked my appointment online right after the mishap..showed up early.. and they called when they had a few minutes to get me in before my time. made a same day appointment online , super quick and easy process, when I arrived I checked in via text on the link sent and had a seat, I was taken back exactly on time and had my blood drawn by Daisy, who was super patient and kind despite me being nervous. She even helped me with a program since im uninsured and she saw me stressed about the price, which she absolutely didn't need to do but was so appreciated. Horrible company. First, they don't honor their own appointment system. You can go through the trouble to make an appointment at a specific time then check-in, but they will still make you wait and take people first-come-first-served. I waited like a half an hour while people without appointments went first. In addition, they don't take BlueCross/BlueShield in NV - which is amazing given they are one of the biggest insurers in the country. Worst lab in Reno, by far. I have medical conditions which require frequent blood monitoring so I've seen, the good, the bad and the ugly. This lab on McCarran qualifies for bad and ugly. Well, my poor wife got two arms full of missed veins including a full experience of the phlebotomist trying to draw blood from her flesh and wondering why I'd wasn't working. Just plain terrible customer service. The website says walk-ins are welcome, but it does not tell you that the wait may take hours. I arrived @ 9:55am, signed in, and then I was told it should only take a few minutes. 35 minutes later they realized I did not have an appointment and then they basically said sorry but I would probably have to wait hours. Apparently I was only going to be seen if someone else didn't show up for their appointment. Tell me that when I arrive, not 40 minutes into my wait! They are slow and just don't care. I have to get labs drawn monthly at the minimum and I had to switch from Lap Corp with my new job a few years ago to Quest due to insurance contracts. So I have been coming to this Quest for over 3.5 years. To me, this is the cleanest lab in town, or the cleanest lab I have experienced at least in the Reno/Sparks area. Parking can be a bit of a pain though because its just tight and sometimes busy parking lot. The "main" lab lady, Michelle, is super skilled, and knowledgeable. In my experience, she has always been great to work with. Once when my labs were expired, another tech refused to draw so I left until my doctors could get a new order faxed in, but Michelle called me back and told me to just come back in and she called my docs for the order. Keep in mind that was a year or so ago, before Covid when she had a bit more time on her hands I think to offer such customer service. I think that they have a lot of "floats" that bounce between locations, Michelle is not a float and stays at this location. Another great tech is I think Maria. Her and Michelle seem to work really well together and I like them both a lot. The rest of the techs I've dealt with can be hit or miss, most of them are friendly though at least. Michelle might get a lot of flack because I have noticed she doesn't tolerate any BS, and she has a bit of RBF if I am honest which can be intimidating. I have seen people be upset with her for stating the facts when she is just doing her job. To me she is just a no non-sense person. This lab used to be hardly busy, and I never had to make an appointment. Since Covid has happened, appointments are HIGHLY recommended. Anytime I come in now its busy outside, they are currently operating at 3 appts every 15 minutes so please be patient with them. I see a lot of reviews frustrated that they don't accept walks in after a certain time, or don't have appointments available for a week, that might just meant that THEY ARE SLAMMED. Call them ahead of time if you are wondering if they can draw your specific lab or not. I believe walk ins aren't accepted after 1:30 with covid currently. Which honestly that should be standard now anyways. Every business may not keep up their online hours, and temporary closings etc so it should be standard to call ahead. Make use of the online appointment feature and make an appt, the covid protocols are strict, so you get a text to "check in" once you are there, once they are ready to draw your labs, you get another text saying to come inside. if you do walk in, you check in digitally on the ipod and you can select to wait outside which is preferable as they have only a couple chairs out in the waiting room to comply with distancing. You can also see an estimate of the walk in wait time for each location online as well when you look at the Quest website. Its all very high tech and they have pretty great protocols I feel completely safe having to get labs drawn the techs wear masks and face shields. read more

My husband has to get blood drawn monthly for medical monitoring purposes. The woman at the front desk, who also works as a phlebotomist should be terminated. She is extraordinarily unprofessional, rude and attacks individuals with medical disabilities. This is highly illegal, and I encourage fellow consumers who have experienced harassment at quest diagnostics to seek legal counsel as my husband and I will be seeking. I cannot believe that quest diagnostics has fallen to such abysmal standards; I'm a registered nurse, who previously lived in Indianapolis, and was required to have routine blood tests for professional reasons, and used quest for these purposes. I never experienced such deplorable customer service as my husband has experienced here in Reno. read more

What an awesome place this is. Super clean, friendly staff, and check in on the Kiosk was a breeze. They took me in exactly at my appointment time. If you show up early YOU MAY HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL YOUR APP TIME! They have appointments every ten mins and are extremely efficient at getting you in and out. So here I am in this location getting my H-Pylory Urea Breath test done and the very 1st guy who would of taken me to do my test was polite, nice about informing me to come back when I had accidentally forgotten my lab test referral. Anyhow he told me to come back and I was still good to go to take the test. Cool so I went to get my paper came back and as soon as I stepped in I had to re-do the check in process just the same way I had done 25 minutes earlier. This time though this sour face woman approached the counter after I had said multiple Hellooooo with a soft voice but I guess she became offended and immediately showed herself like she wasn't going to like me from the beginning. I had asked if she can check me in but she forced me to go through the kiosk prompts as usual and I told her I had done that but she again displayed a face of dislike towards me and gave me a pissed of tone of voice. She made it very difficult, uneasy to get this test done and express nothing but bitter customer service. I have had the worse tech service for my test needs. This was such a nightmare dealing with this female individual who wrongly guided me to perform this kind of test. She became so impatient towards me and every 5 seconds of listening to her rude, nasty attitude shooting out nothing but a mean voice instructions was so stressful being in her presence. I know som other person would of already taken off instead but I had to endure this Woman's disrespectful ways and I did let her know how much she's being a difficult test operator and poor customer service. I even warned her I was writing a review on her I she made things very uncomfortable. She could careless she kept right going with her nagging voice and continued to making me feel like I'm dumb for not following her instructions. Sure seemed hating every part of her job skills this one time she had to see me or guiding me for the next move. Well I was able to withstand till the end but I'll never come back to this location again. I won't allow myself or my health insurance to pay for this type of nightmare services in any way shape or form for the future. As I'm walking out she made sure she mocked me out loud. How angry , childish and low class of her conduct. I hope someone reports this kind of treatment she has more than not done to several people in the community. She doesn't belong in this type of field. I feel sorry for this individual, walking around hating life for no reason. Taking it out on average people like us. Michelle at Quest is amazing! I drive 30 minutes across town just to see her. She is professional, accommodating, and super sweet. I also had to take my daughter in to get blood work done and she was terrified. Michelle was so nice to her, and did everything she could to make her feel comfortable and at ease. Also my daughters boyfriend went to her on my recommendation, and he is so anxious. When Michelle finished he said, "oh my gosh", I am going to her always. :0) Being a good phlebotomist, is a true talent, and Michelle definitely encompasses that. It was super easy to go on Quest Diagnostics website to set up an appointment, for this Reno location. Immediate openings were available the very next day as I had to fast for some of my lab tests. It was super easy to get in and out of the facility, as they send you a text letting you know the time and the place once you confirmed your appointment. The regulations that follow the Covid guidelines. I arrived at 10:15 AM and checked in through the text message, giving us the option of sitting in our car, waiting outside, and sitting within the facility. I opted just to remain in my car until I got the go ahead to come in for my blood draw. It was super easy, because I had done a majority of my medical card online through the online scheduling. Which just allow them to scan my medical card already having my insurance information already in the computer with my small deductible which is required upon service. I was in an out of the facility with no problems within 5 to 8 minutes. Would highly recommend coming to this location as it's clean and follows the Covid guidelines read more

I mentioned that I'd been in the hospital over the weekend and am still suffering horribly from a wicked and very stubborn kidney infection. She was sympathetic and very kind which made me feel kinda shitty for the review I had just posted. So, with the clarification that my anger, frustration and HATE is for the Quest Corporation, and NOT (necessarily) the Quest staff, I'm adding another star to my original one-star review. I had a terrible situation with people in Quest and posted a month ago about the issue and was told to reach out to an email for the patient advocacy to handle the situation and still have YET to hear anything from anyone. Super unprofessional and really irritating. Obviously they aren't taking the issue seriously which is a sign of bad management and that they don't care for their patients and how they are treated. I had a very bad experience here. I usually just go to Renown lab but my insurance wanted me to go here this time. One of my labs was for glucose testing which required an hour wait. I scheduled for 4pm and the system let me do it. I then called to verify and was told I wouldn't have been seen because they closed at 5pm. So I had to reschedule for a later day, earlier time. My new appointment was 11:30am but I got out of work at 10:00am. I decided just to head over since they were advertising wait times of 17 minutes for walk-in. I asked at the desk if I should check in under appointment or walk-in and they said appointment. I did clarify that I was an hour early but they said it didn't matter. The appointment would put me at the top of the screen. My name did go up there, showing a 2 min wait time but they kept taking others walks-ins before me since I was early for my appointment. I wasn't seen until 11:30 which was frustrating. Then, I was given a drink to take and told to wait another hour. Why they didn't give it to me when I arrived, I don't know. I am now 2 hours in. Then comes time to draw my blood. It literally took 3 techs, 45 minutes and 6 pokes to get enough blood. On the 5th try, third tech, she pulled the needle out of my hand and the blood just kept coming out. She freaked out and said I had to leave and come back because it wasn't safe to poke me more. There was one test in particular I was concerned about, and they told me they didn't have enough blood for it. I insisted on waiting because I just needed it done and I was there almost 3 hours. She then asks me to talk about my situation, maybe to distract me. I explained the medication I was on, how it was making me ill and dangerous to my health and the results of this test would determine if I could stop. She then proceeds to tell me that she loves that medication and wishes she could take it all the time. I was floored and her lack of common sense. Fortunately, she did get enough blood on that 6th attempt. I went in on a Friday afternoon. It's close of business Thursday and I have zero results. Renown gets me my results posted to mychart app with 24-48 business hours. My arms are bruised up, I was in pain for 2 days and I'm going nuts waiting for my results. I set up an appointment online and the Quest website asked me to pre-register. I did. It asked me for my insurance provider and I entered the information and made sure it was typed correctly. The website told me they do not recognize the insurance company - Health Plan of Nevada. I checked the Health Plan of Nevada website for labs I could use and they indicated Quest was the only one available to me. So, I called Quest. It took me 10 minutes to get through on the phone to see if they accept my insurance. They do. But it took me about 20 minutes overall to get a simple answer to a simple question. LabCorp is much better, but HPN does not accept LabCorp as a provider. read more

They can't find my labs usually but today I made an appointment with their ridiculous automated system and arrived and of course no appointment is in the system. They couldn't even give me an estimated wait time as a walk in. Other people came in while i was there because someone neglected to tell them that drug tests stop at 1 pm and were also very irritated as they had called the day before and were not informed if this .
