I came in for my yearly lab work on a Monday afternoon. My appointment was at 1:45 p.m., but I arrived early around 1:00. There was only one other person in the waiting area, and as soon as I checked in, I was called up to the window. Within five minutes, I was in the back getting my blood drawn. The staff were friendly, efficient, and made the whole process super quick and easy. The waiting area had plenty of chairs and looked clean and organized, with about six stations for the lab work process. Parking in the plaza is a little limited, but I was able to find a spot within a few minutes. Overall, a smooth and positive experience. I was in and out before my actual appointment time! read more

I visited this location on July 26, 2023 for some bloodwork. I came in the mid-afternoon. There was only one other party ahead of me and I also had an appointment. Self check-in was easy with the QR-code on your phone. They had two or three check-in machines. The waiting room was clean, spacious, and brightly lit, in a newer building, which was right in front of the small office park. Parking was easy. Wifi was a little tricky connecting to. I forget the exact issue. I think there might have been two networks for wifi, and it also didn't connect the first few times. I also wasn't sure if I needed to enter a Spectrum passcode. But it did work in the end after some experimentation. The phlebotomist quickly called me and processed my paperwork. There was some confusion, because it was an out-of-state doctor who ordered the tests and she was not in their system. They needed her NPI ("National Practitioner Identifier"). But the person went to work researching it and even called in two of her colleagues to help. It didn't help that the doctor had two foreign names (which is the first and which is the last they wondered?) and they did not know San Jose and Santa Clara were in the same area (her office is in San Jose but her NPI in the database has her home city listed). In the end I looked up the NPI on my phone and supplied it to them. I did appreciate their efforts and realize this wasn't their fault. The draw itself was easily, and the phlebotomist was professional. She also did not draw the wrong test and did not leave bruises in both of my arms which lasted for 10 days like the one at Quest Diagnostics in Carson City did earlier. And she quickly got me the work excuse note that I needed. So, despite some hiccups, I am wholly satisfied. I highly recommend online appointments for all lab services, and coming in the afternoon, if possible, since it is less busy. Make sure you also bring your lab orders with you. Sometimes labs don't have or can't find copies that the doctor's office sent over. They need the lab orders and NPI to proceed. I had to leave empty handed at another lab years ago because of these issues. read more

The LabCorp on Sierra rose drive use to be the best in Reno-but the last two times I've been I had a lady who is horrible at her job. The first time I brushed it off as everyone has off days once in a while. However today, same lady, was even worse! I let her know we should probably use my right arm today because the veins were bright and extremely visible, however she chose to use my left arm where there were no visible veins showing at the time. Not only did the draw hurt the entire time (and it usually never hurts past the initial stick-she yanked my arm while the needle was still in it. She didn't untie the tourniquet and then take it off. She Just yanked on the rubber tied tourniquet-and the needle jammed further in and it HURT and she just laughed about it. I get my blood drawn about once a month and have for the last two years to check on my autoimmune disorders. I've had plenty pokes and this woman is by far the worst I've had draw my blood. Didn't even get a genuine apology. Just laughed. Horrible. I'll start going back to Mill St LabCorp because at least I know they can do their job correctly with great bedside manner . read more

I unfortunately don't have much to say here as my experience was very short lived. I was next door for imaging and decided to try and see if I could get a quick walk-in for one blood test. Upon walking in, the location was absolutely packed with hardly any seating left. I did my check in and made my way to the back to one of the very few empty chairs. It truly felt like we were packed in like sardines and quite a few people were standing. While waiting, the interactions I overheard between other patients and staff were not very inviting. Most staff seemed very bothered and irritated. I realized after about 10 minutes that this was not going to be a quick visit and I had to get going to pick up my daughter, so I left before I could be seen. I do appreciate the express check-in kiosks to make it go a little quicker. read more

Would love to give no stars. Two people sitting behind the desk and they have you check in through the kiosk. I had an appointment for routine bloodwork and urine sample. I supplied my insurance information prior to being seen or providing any samples. The lady calls me up to the front to read my order and gives me a cup. After she collects my sample, she tells me, curtly, they don't accept my insurance and tells me to go to Quest and to take my samples to them. I asked for a bag for them and the lady looked at me like I was insane that I didn't want to carry my samples out in the open. All in all, just use Quest, labcorp is trash, they have a terrible check in system if they can't figure out insurances prior to performing procedures. I also did look up my insurance as I have used labcorp services through doctor's offices and it was covered. So I'm not what was going on. read more

This place is okay-ish, it really depends on what staff is working. I just wanted to give a shout out -- I've been coming here for several years and seen a lot of phlebotomists come and go, and so far Megan stayed a while luckily and she's one of the good ones. If you are a hard stick (have hard to find veins) -- ASK FOR MEGAN!!!!!! I promise, she can find your veins and you wont be a pin cushion! PEOPLE WHO HAVE DOCTORS THAT ***ELECTRONICALLY*** send in the orders or **fax** them in... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE double and triple check with your doctors and screenshot for proof and bring that proof in with you!! When you get to the window 9/10 times you will be told that they do not have the order from your doctor, when, in fact, most of the time it will either have been misfiled or "accidentally" deleted, or "lost" in the system. I am not sure what happens to doctor files that get electronically sent to this office but for some reason they do get misfile a LOT and do get lost and never arrive, so it's best that if you can PRINT OUT a copy or you doctor can show PROOF of sending that this occur or you'll never be able to be seen. Trust me on this. Wait times are INSANE in the morning. I promise that if you arrive 1minute after they open, you will still be waiting as long as you do if you arrive an hour after they open. I have had more luck going there at around 2pm or something it's about a 15 minute wait at that time. Some of the staff is really rude. Some of the staff is really nice. Like I said before, this place is okay-ish depending upon who is there. Some people are empathetic and some people I feel shouldn't be anywhere near customer service or healthcare, but hey gotta feed your family, right? I mostly come here because it's right across the street from my apartment, and the Phlebotomist here is the only freaking person in the whole universe who can stick me with a needle and get blood to come out of my veins first try, so yeah, I endure whatever I need, to come here, especially when I need to return regularly. I have used Labcorp for the last 12 years here in Reno. It was a good lab until recently. In the last year they have closed 2 labs one on McCabe a fairly good location and clean office, the other closure was on South Virginia, what a filthy dump this office was so I can understand them closing it. Unfortunately there are no Labcorp labs in South Reno, closest one if on Sierra Rose, that makes it no longer a lab I will use I might add that i waited over an hour to get 1 blood test then had to sign a form charging $117 for a test they advertise at $69, instead Renown will be my lab, South Meadows or Summit Sierra. read more

After a very stressful morning and already having gone to TWO labcorp locations in Reno (one was closed due to no heat and one had a full lobby) we arrived at this location. I am newly pregnant via IVF and my clinic is in San Francisco. They frequently check my hormone levels out of caution and good care. Usually, the order is in labcorp's system but today it wasn't. Upon checking in a lady with dark hair and tattoos tells me it's not in the system and that it is impossible for me to email my lap slip to them because "they've gotten viruses from emails". I am not new to bloodwork and have easily emailed lapslips before at many different labcorps. She wouldn't even consider it. I had to walk across the hallway and beg another business to please print out my slip, I was crying. Thank God they did and then I returned to have my blood drawn. There were 3-4 girls working and they continued on with personal conversations and acted like I wasn't there. The girl who drew my blood was kind but everyone else was so unprofessional and uncaring. And she talked loudly and rudely about other ppl who had visited the office earlier in the week. Lady, you should not be in public service if you cannot be kind or helpful. I feel bad for anyone who visits that office who actually is having a hard time or a bad day because you are the worst receptionist I have EVER met. read more

They could be a little friendlier. This is my only lab choice if I want my insurance to cover my lab bills. Conveniently, I can make an appointment online so you don't have to wait around. But when you go in to the appointment you still check in at the desk to have a person abruptly ask if you made an appointment, then you can check in at a kiosk. I was taken back quickly- urine test handed to me and told either restroom. Then onto blood drawn, quick and easy. But the entire 15 minutes I was there no one smiled or really said anything at all to me. Very cold environment with employees that don't seem happy to be working there. But efficient. Rude , disrespectful and unprofessional!!! I stood at the front desk and was ignored. She called 2 patients up and said nothing to me! Not a " I'll be right with you, have a seat, how can I help you , check in at the kiosk or do you have a appointment " not a single word!!! All I needed was to know what container was needed for my lab specimen. I left and called to ask someone else but they did not answer. Such a disrespectful, unprofessional office. MINUS 2 stars (at least) in truth. I had a 9:30 appt at the S Virginia St location made weeks in advance since I like this location and staff far better than any other. I received a call at 6:14 AM the day of my appt and was told the S Virginia site was closed but my 9:30 appt would be honored at the Sierra Rose location. I arrived at the Sierra Rose site at 9:28, checked in at the kiosk was advised by the kiosk that I would receive a text when they were ready for me, so I went to wait in the building lobby right outside Lab Corps door with other waiting patients. At 9:45 I went back into the office and stood as close to the reception window as was socially acceptable. I was not acknowledged at any time from then until I left at 10:00 after hearing someone else told it would be an hour to an hour and 1/2 wait. I received a text at 10:14, (44 minutes after my to "be honored" appt time) that I could bring my paperwork to the window. Unfortunately, I make appointments because I work and cannot stand around waiting for unknown timeframes which by the way completely nulls the appointment process. I will now have to set another appointment and reschedule my doctor appointment. I am disturbed by Lab Corps complete lack of regard for patient's time. If my insurance did not require that I use Lab Corp believe me I would not. They also have the most rude and surly employees (S Virginia St excepted) they all seem to hate their jobs; another fantastic sign as far as medical service is concerned. This is not the 1st exceptionally BAD experience I've had with Lab Corp, just the one that frosted me the most recently. read more

Horrible. Appointment is at 2PM, they completely ignore appointment times. Super sketchy facilities, look at the picture how small their waiting room is. There are 10+ people crammed in there, cannot keep safe distance. HVAC/air circulation is terrible, so Covid petri dish. At 2:15 I went to ask front desk when my way past 2PM appointment would be serviced, no one there. I can hear laughing an goofing off in the back office; these people are not tending to clients whatsoever. I left because of concerns about all the people crammed into the waiting room and in general concerned about the capability of the staff to follow standard protocols for sanitization and proper medical procedures. They clearly do not care about clients. At 3:11, one hour eleven minutes after my appointment time, I get a text my appointment is almost ready. I would avoid this place at all costs. read more

I went in as a walk in on a Friday at about 2 o'clock, they close at three. I was greeted with a smile and a friendly face. I waited about 5 mins before I was called back. The phlebotomist who drew my blood was amazing. She was efficient, friendly, and best of all pain free lol her name is Krystal and she is awesome! I highly recommend this location! read more

I have a lot of fear and anxiety around having my blood taken (from a really bad past experience) and I had a fantastic experience at this Labcorp with Jamie. I made a mistake booking my appointment and she got me in as a walk in. She listened to my anxiety and was super supportive, letting one of my friends come back to distract me. When it came to the actual poking and bloodwork, it didn't hurt at all. She was fast (even as a walk in I was in and out in 20 minutes and that included me eating food and drinking juice after the fact), painless, and really kind. So, if you're someone who has a lot of fear around bloodwork, I can't recommend this location and Jamie enough. It was a great experience! read more

Great experience here. I made the appointment online the afternoon before. I showed up about 5 minutes before my schedule time and it was a quick process at the counter. I was called back right on my appointment time. They took my blood sample quick and relatively painless. I was in and out in less than 20 minutes. all members of the staff that I encountered were very friendly and professional. I will be doing all my lab work at this location from now on. read more

Customer service is not in their vocabulary. My boyfriend has been very ill since early March. Today I had to drop off samples for testing. It was 8:00am I hurried in. There was no one in the waiting, no one the parking lot waiting to be called in, 2 ladies at the desk. I tried to hand the one individual behind the window the bag with the samples. She told me I needed to check in. I said I don't have an appointment I am just dropping the sample off. I didn't have my BF's info. Got frustrated with her when she said I still needed to check in. Ugh.. then she said she would take it BUT it wouldn't be shown as checked in. The other individual said she would log it in for me. Seriously in these already stressed out time they can't take a bag with all of the patients info written all over it and log it in??? read more

I was there first thing in the morning with about nine people in front of me. They opened on time and the line moved right along. It took about a half hour to get everything done. The vampire was every good. The only two faults I found was they only had one out of three check-in kiosks working and when I tried calling to see if they took walk-ins no one answered the phone. read more

You have to self check in and one part wanted you to wait in the car and they will send a text. I dont have texting on my jitterbug phone. When i asked the lady at the counter what to do she demanded to know why i dont text. Then she told me to wait in my car and she would send a message. Another person in line tried to explain to her that i dont text. I had to leave with no way to get treated. I realize these are different times but not every one has a cell phone. I dont need to explain why there is no computer in my hand keeping me in constant contact. She was just very rude and i will never go back. read more

Was surprised by the expedited, friendly and helpful service at the Labcorp at their Sierra Rose location. I was a walk-in for fasting blood work and was seen within 10 minutes (with apologies for the delay). They have a staff of at least 3 people with walk-ins welcome (better to do mornings per phlebotomist). Insurance coverage thru BC California made my bill for a fasting blood draw and urine sample very affordable . I will definitely come back to this Labcorp for future labs! read more

The GREAT: The four stars is a mixture of experiences, including my visit today. Today, the phlebotomist that helped me was wonderful, from helping me at initial check-in, to carefully going through my SIX lab slips, to drawing blood painlessly. We discussed that her husband and I both had Helena Chandler at Reno High for Russian language classes. The Potentially DEADLY: However, while I was at the window, the other phlebotomist, while thinking she was being helpful, told a patient that he should not get a lab today because he was not going to see his doctor for another annual appointment for a year. That phlebotomist apparently does not know that at an annual physical a doctor will give a lab slip for the patient to get done that week, and, if everything is fine, then the next appointment is not until the next annual exam - but, if there is a problem, the doctor calls the patient. She literally could have caused the patient to not have a deadly condition discovered early. Fortunately, the patient is an "ex" marine, and he told her, he always follows orders, and so he was going to follow his doctor's orders. PREVIOUS VISITS: Today's experience was very different from that of 6 months or so ago, for which I posted: If I could leave negative stars, I would. I dread going there. But, I must as Labcorp is the only Lab on my insurance. The Labcorp staff just does not care. So what if you have an appointment! Jab you without seeming concern. Fail to provide information. When this "location" was at its prior spot in the same professional center (it moved a few buildings away awhile back) it provided 3-star service. Not sure what happened." read more

Being in Healthcare I definitely understand the problems that exist due to COVID. But this was unacceptable. Had an appointment scheduled for 6:45 AM, arrived to learn the hours changed to opening at 7 AM. The doors opened, we were told only 3 in the lobby at a time. No checking if anyone had appointments. After to min was told we could check in, give a phone number and would get called when it was your turn. No phone calls, the staff was calling names from behind closed doors. They need to work on a better method for patients to get checked in. COVID restrictions have been in effect long enough that better practices should be in place. When I brought up the appointment time, the response I got was oh well not my problem. read more

The staff was very courteous and helpful. I was impressed with the nice, clean waiting area, even though I didn't have to wait more than a few minutes (even with no appointment). I told the person who drew my blood that I would like her to use a small needle, because I have small veins. She was gracious and accommodated me (a quick and painless procedure). Clean, fast and efficient!! I've been here a few times to get blood work, every time the staff has been very friendly, and good on the draw! I would suggest an appointment, so you get in and out faster! Otherwise, you will have a little bit of a wait! The Libby is very clean, and the back looks sterile.
