Have been here twice with appointment and haven't waited more than twenty minutes. A big plus is that the place was well-ventilated, even with an almost-full waiting room and the doors closed (I had a personal CO2 monitor to confirm). There were "APPOINTMENT ONLY" paper notices on the kiosks, but I assume the room was full of people without appointments because I overheard someone mention a three hour wait for those without appointments and there were only three or four names on the appointment list screen. I don't like that there is no reception desk--just kiosks and chairs--but I suppose one could knock on the door. While I was there, someone did knock on the door, but they had to knock several times before someone responded. Also, I saw here what happens often at these "kiosk only" places--when someone needs help, they end up asking others waiting for help because the staff is not available. read more

I went to Quest lab on Orangeburg Ave. and checked in as a walk-in with a STAT order from UCSF because their were no available appointments for over a week.. I waited for two hours and once my name came up the lab stopped accepting drop ins.. I have am a transplant patient who did not have a ride to another lab nor could Wait weeks for an appointment, as I tried to explain my issue with the lab technician SHARLENE she yelled at me as well as other patients who were questioning why we were doing old to leave and go someplace else.. I am just So shocked at the Unprofessionalism displayed here at a medical establishment! So I had an appointment this morning for my aunt who's on oxygen 24/7 and she has to use her oxygen. Monica was the one that helped us today and she was super super nice super fast and super efficient she took care of my aunt and she was very very gentle. Also I noticed that she brought the signature pad to my aunt instead of asking my aunt to get up and sign since she was on oxygen. Let me start by saying that I have the biggest fear of needles. I came here to get blood drawn for some testing for work. I have spent my entire life avoiding hospitals because of my severe fear of needles and syringes. Walking into this building playing tough like it didn't phase me was easy. Once I got called back I had to lay it all out. I told the nurse who would be doing my blood draw (I really wish I had gotten her name because she was phenomenal) that my heart rate would be a little higher because my anxiety was kicking in and that I was absolutely terrified and hadn't ever had my blood drawn before. She was so quick to explain how fast and easy the process was. She explained to me that it was very common for patients to be scared, and gave me examples of what it may feel like. She was so nurturing! She walked me through everything that she was doing and even had me feel the vein she would be using to help ease my fear of missing a vein and having to go back for another. She did have a second nurse come in to help calm me when she was ready to do it because I got a little resistant. Both of these ladies were so calming and genuinely concerned for my comfort. I can't believe how amazing they were with an adult baby. Scale of 1-10, the pain of this process was not even a 1. You never believe when they say you won't even feel it. But you really don't. No sting. No pinch. No anything. It was so relieving to have had such professional and kind nurses. Thank you a million times over for being so patient with me. The nurses here are Godsend. This will be my choice to get blood work or any other lab work for the rest of my pregnancy. I came in at 2 pm. and one other woman was sitting there. I was in shock. They have a new check in system where you check in on the computer. Which is nice, because you get a lot of info out of the way. I was in and out of there super quick. I asked the lady taking my blood if it was always like this, dead at this time. She said yea, everyone makes their appointments earlier in the day so after 2, you are in and out. NICE! Today my 91 year old mom and I had appointments at another Quest location, and upon arrival were told the appointments were cancelled due to maintenance problems. We had fasted and come from one of the outlying communities at 7 in the morning. So we drove to this location and of course did not, have an appointment. Sharlene (Sharline?) greeted us almost immediately and when we explained the situation, she said no worries and immediately went to work to help us. We were in and out quickly and so relieved we didn't have to reschedule or wait for hours. We did get there before 8am. Really appreciated her demeanor and professionalism! read more

Horrible service. I come to quest once a week for the past several months for blood testing and have never had any issues at another location but this one. Came in at 8am and was yelled at around 8:40 by a woman who took my insurance card and said "it's going to be a while because you're a walk-in and they have priority not you in a condescending tone and proceeded to say we're behind. You should make patients aware of that BEFORE they sit here for almost an hour straight then are given attitude because YOU are stressed about your job. Worst location, do not go here!!! read more

Terrible customer/patient service. The employees come in at 8:30 (the time the service suppose to begin) at 8:37 doors r still closed while the crowd of sick, ill and cold patients r waiting outside in the cold morning. The phlebotomiat, Stephanie was soo rude. She told us to go somewhere else or leave if we r not satisfied with the service. The big man is yelling. At 9:05 am there was 23 people in the sml waiting area and they did not call patients. Ww waited 30 minutes and had to leave to other lab to look for better service. They called the first client at 9:08am. When I pointed this out Stephanie the employee there yelled at me that i was rude and nasty. And that i should leave. read more

I have been to several different Quest Diagnostics locations but this was by far my best experience. The mobile app was excellent to schedule my appointment and the check in process on the mobile app was great too. I wasn't in the lobby for more than 3 minutes before I was called back. The technician was very friendly and professional and had me in and out very quickly. I will definitely use this office going forward. read more

The employees here do a fine job but quest does not make it easy to obtain information or talk to a human being on the phone. The automated service sucks. The website is difficult to navigate. What choices do we really have though. Quest needs to be more user-friendly. read more

This is the best Quest I have been to in Modesto. I was nervous about getting my blood drawn and they were very calm and understanding. Stephanie was my phlebotomist and she was very gentle and communicated everything she was doing. It was definitely the most gentle blood draw I have had. I had an appointment... We are so happy Mari is back. She is very good with my wife who has veins that are "tricky", they roll, and hide, and just when you think you got a good one it stops giving. If you have any other lab options do NOT go to Quest! When our insurance changed in January, we were forced to use Quest. The first time my husband & I went in for a blood draw we dropped in at the 1541 Florida Ave location. We were told there would be a wait of about an hour and a half. We waited almost an hour in a standing room only waiting room with people standing out in the hallway, too, and during that time only three people were called in. Seeing that we'd easily be there for three or more hours, we left and tried making an appointment, using the 2222 Orangeburg location which we thought might be less crowded. The tests we needed required 8 hours fasting so a morning appointment was necessary. It was a 10-12 day wait for appointments before 11am. Even with appointments, we still were not taken in until nearly half an hour after our scheduled time. I hate to think what special hell we would be in for had we been there ill, for a blood draw that had to happen the same day! To make matters worse, although I provided them with all my current insurance information, they billed a a company that I was with 10-15 years ago. When I went back in to ask them to please bill the proper insurance, Stephanie told me she couldn't do anything about it, that I'd have to call their main billing office. She then tried to convince me that my doctor's office had input my information into Quest's computer system incorrectly. Well, sorry Stephanie, but my doctor gives me a generic form that I can take to any lab. He had no idea where I was going for the blood work, and he was not my doctor those many years ago when I was with that prior insurance company. Own up to your mistakes. I asked her if she could at least correct the information in their system but she said since I didn't have an appointment that day the computer probably wouldn't save it. It took me a while to get the CSR at their billing office to understand that they billed the wrong insurance company...she kept telling me they billed the company they had on file in the computer!! Beyond exasperating! I have contacted my insurance company and filed a formal complaint that Quest is now the only lab in their network in my area. This could possibly be enough to make me look elsewhere for insurance at open enrollment if I have to keep going to Quest. If I could give them a negative star rating, I would. read more
