I mean, who likes getting blood work done? The great thing about this place is it's easy access to parking, there's never much of a wait, and out of the few times I've gone I've only had one dud phlebotomist. They practice social distancing, there is hand sanitizer, and there is a computerized check in. Masks are required, and they temperature check you. I'm very easy to draw from, and I had been lucky with the gentleman, Gabriel, that does phlebotomy there. He makes a little small talk to distract you but then he's very quick and painless with taking how much ever he has to take. I don't bruise with him and I clot just fine even though I'm on blood thinners. This last time however, it was a lady... And she was less than spectacular. It took her two jabs to get the blood and left a heck of a bruise.... So hopefully that was a fluke thing it'll be the guy next time again. Overall, this office is pretty good for what it is if you have to get blood work done. The lack of having to wait makes it better. read more

I had an appointment set for today 3/15 at 1:30 when I showed up for my appointment early they had a sign on the door saying they were closed for today. How dare they they didn't notify anybody that had appointments that they were closed. They accepted my appointment, 24 hours in advance Yet they were close they could've had the decency to call and let people know that they were going to be close that way we could've canceled and made arrangements to go someplace else, we have other things to do with our lives too. You know that's very rude of this place to shut down for 24 hours or God knows when and without a notice and people like myself, are showing up at their door for appointments and they are closed. If I could, I would give them a rating of zero stars. I will not be going back to this location at all. It is horrible!! read more

I am very wimpy when it comes to having blood drawn. Just thinking about it gives me the shivers. In my opinion, my blood belongs in my veins, not in vials. There are times when it becomes necessary to have blood drawn. My doctor is a big proponent of blood tests every year. While I appreciate his thoroughness, I don't like having it done. Period. I am very fortunate in that I have found phlebotomists who are very professional, compassionate and gentle. Each of the phlebotomists I have encountered at this Quest Diagnostics have been very understanding of my fear and know that I physically have a difficult time with blood draws. They are so sweet and do a great job talking to me and trying to keep my mind off what is happening. Half of the time, I don't even feel the needle. They are that gentle. I usually get very lightheaded and feel faint after blood draws. The staff at this location make sure that I am OK before I am cleared to leave. I appreciate the extra steps they take to make such an unpleasant event as painless as possible. read more

This is a great Quest location! I took off one star because one of the phlebotomists messed up the billing on one of my visits. And he wasn't the most friendly person to deal with. Everyone else has been wonderful there. The best thing you can do with ANY Quest is to make an appointment ahead of time. I was in and out of their quick. My appointment time was 11:30 and my blood was drawn at 11:34. I love that you check in on a computer now and they just take your insurance and ask you if you have been to a Quest before. I'm not sure why people don't make appointments, it would make your life a whole lot easier. read more

I can't say enough about ALL the staff at the Florida location in Modesto. Lindsey, Melissa, & Amanda take special care of my 14'month old who has a rare syndrome. Due to her syndrome she has an increased risk for tumors/cancer so needs to have blood drawls every six weeks. Other labs have a difficult time finding her veins. Linds & Amanda always gets it on the first try and Melissa is awesome at assisting and helping my sweet baby stay as calm as possible! I came in today to do a simple drug test for a potential second job and it took over 3 hours. Wasn't aware that it would take a ridiculous amount of time to draw blood and administer urine tests. They claim they are understaffed but from the precious reviews written id say they are always understaffed. Find more reliable employees or do appointments only. I came In at 10 and had to wait over 30 mins in line. It was for walk ins and all I did was sign my name on a paper. There weren't even that many people in line so I don't understand why it would take so long. My 100% of battery was down to 2% by the time I was done waiting and I had only 15 minutes to get to work due to the long wait time. 3 hours later I finally lose patience and wait in line yet again to ask the receptionist how much longer until I get help. She takes 10 minutes to tell me I was second in line. Which was great to hear but unfortunately to Quest Diagnostics, second in line means you'll be helped in 45 mins. So thank you Quest Diagnostics for wasting my time, killing my phone battery, and giving me no time to get to work. I went to this quest place, I got stabbed 6 times and my arms were covered in bruises. People thought I was a heroin addict. I have good veins this place is TOTAL CRAP! The hispanic girl that stabbed my arms had no clue what she was doing and couldn't find my veins for shit. yet my normal doctor never had one problem in 20 years? PLEASE DON'T GO HERE. RE: QUEST in MODESTO ( I BELIEVE THIS APPLIES TO ALL LOCATIONS BECAUSE IT IS A CORPORATE ORGANIZATION)..... Buyers beware: In today's system of affordable care, doctors in larger systems will become fewer and harder to see as the prices go up. Pharmacies and Labs will become more competitive. And, the consumer that does their homework before buying services of any type will be better off or just the opposite--- taken advantage of. This is what happened to me: I am an American Expatriate on a trip to the States. And, I pay all medical out of pocket. While in the USA, I consulted a doctor who wrote me a lab request filled on Quest Diagnostic form. Being compliant I went to the McHenry St. Quest Office. I did not question whether I could go to any supplier as I normally would overseas. My first impression of Quest Diagnostic was that it was I extremely busy with a diverse population of people from all ethnic and economic groups, a front desk overwhelmed with 15 people in line, a new computer system with hic ups frustrating the office staff, and also a attendant with a sharp attitude. When it was my turn, I asked the woman registering if I could pay in cash and could have a discount since the company would not have to wait for Medicaid or other insurers to pay the bill. The test I was supposed to have run priced at $137. With cash discount I paid $97. Still a quite heavy price for a simple blood test. Ironic thing is, I work for a lab, pharmacy, and rescue business in Asia. That same test is $7.50 (and we have built in our mark up +20%). Understandably, the cost to do business is less but this mark up on a commonly run test ridiculous high. That stated, I needed it done. So I paid. What I did not notice when I walked into Quest was that a competitor called Pathology Inc from Torrance CA has an office directly across the driveway. As I walked out I saw the sign. So my curiosity got the better of me. I went and asked for a price quotation for all lab tests done in their operation. And, I went online and made a few calls to determine if this outfit is respected. It is. And, its prices at fairer market rate. The same test I had done cost $29 with Diagnostic Inc----$68 cheaper. What I now have come to understand is that Quest bills at the highest rate. The diverse populations who are Quest patients, like me, have no idea of the differential in billing between suppliers. They just go where they are told. If they are on Medicaid (like many in the office when I was there), they pay zero. But for those with private insurance who must co-pay 20, 30, 40 percent of the bill, the charges they will incur at Quest are significantly higher than the charges from competitive labs like Pathology, Inc. Moral of the story--- be savvy not naïve as I was.... Before you get lab work, make a few calls, get a quotation! And, save yourself the annoyance and some money. PS---- Lab techs were professional. Terrible service. Waited over an hour just for them to take my insurance information. Why put up a a wait time when the time doesn't advance. It was at 15 minutes for ten minutes then it went to 23 minutes, no new appointments had walked in to change my time. They need a few more offices to handle all of their business read more

Waiting for my appointment draw. The two women at the counter are looking up job postings at other draw stations. Waiting...still waiting...Now they're talking about their weekend. I feel like I'm interrupting their conversation to give my insurance information. Now I'm in a draw room. I can still hear them talking. I asked to see the tests ordered and I removed some from the order. The phlebotomist rolled her eyes and stormed out. These people do not realize that we are their customers. As I wait for the order change, a group of staff collect in the office area to visit. Waiting, waiting. I can here the phlebotomist visiting. Finally, I was getting my labs drawn and another employee burst into the room to stock or pull tubes. Two things: the staff at this draw station are highly unprofessional and there are so many of them. They were standing around laughing and visiting and not taking care of me, the only patient in the draw station at the time. read more

I give this lab location 4 stars only because of the staff. They are professional, friendly, quick, and effecient. The downside is there are only a few of them. They manage, just barely, to keep this office going with the few people they have working at any given hour. I saw the stress, fatigue, and almost desperation to keep up with the crowds they get. You see people in walkers, wheelchairs, canes, disabilities, and illnesses standing and waiting sometimes over an hour. The lines extend down the hallways and these people wait because they need their bloodwork done. I give management/supervisors 0 stars for not hiring additional help when they have the resources to do so. This problem is consistent and reflects soley on the decisions of the supervisor. read more
