After checking in, I waited for about 20 mins to be called back. I was waiting outside and received the text message to return back inside, literally it took me just one minute. My name had been removed from the list. I was able to talk to one of the technicians about the issue, it was quickly resolved. The TV is too loud and it makes it hard to hear when the technicians are talking to the patients, please lower the volume. Overall my experience was pleasant. The entire laboratory is very clean, the technicians could be a bit more gentle, however, the job gets done in a clean and safe manner. read more

I hate doing bloodwork but under the circumstances I do love going to Quest Diagnostic! This was the first time using the Beach Blvd location. I've never had any issues or problems with Quest Diagnostic with making appointments and getting bloodwork done. I've ALWAYS made appointments on the app a week prior and always been able to get the date and times needed. Once I arrive at the office I check in on the app and within a few minutes they call me back. Usually I'm in and out within 15 to 30 minutes. At each location I've used everyone has always been super helpful and very friendly! Observations from today and past visits: those who choose not to make appointments will sit there a while and get upset because they aren't being called. They were mad with me today! They said "You just walked in and stood there and 5 minutes later you're called back"... "Then 10 minutes later you are walking out and leaving"! The positive - Clean Staff were professional while actively drawing blood Con- Inefficient time management with appointments No one in waiting room to assist people that needed it We arrived around 15 mins early and checked in without issues on the mobile app. Others had a few issues with the touchscreen in the lobby due to the number of people already checked in. Girlfriend had an appointment and brought everything needed. She signed in and was brought back, and was promptly told they couldn't run the test because she had the wrong form in her email? The authorization form had the Q-passport, lab to be performed and lab number and the barcode. She tried to explain it to the tech but was dismissed as the tech wouldn't look at the form on her phone. Idk maybe she couldn't read. We called customer service and were told we were right, and there is no 'other form'. We printed out the exact same email and brought it back in, highlighting all the info, and waited in the walk-in line for 3 hours. Halfway through, one of the techs came out to say anyone that checked in before 10 would be seen, and we checked in at 0930, so perfect. At noon we were told by the initial tech (that wouldn't read my girlfriend's form) said that they aren't going to take anymore walk ins and to go home. She said the tech that promised we would be seen didn't work at this location and wasn't certified or something? Idk I asked her to go get that tech to talk to us and eventually my girlfriend was seen. Apparently that tech that promised to see us could actually read so we were in luck and her test was finished. They thought I'd leave when they pointed out that LabCorp was on the top of the blood work order, but I knew I didn't HAVE to use that lab. I had to return since I hadn't fasted, and made sure to go "before 2:30" the next day. The boss came out to the waiting room where 2 of us were still waiting and asked "why are you here? Are you waiting for someone?" I answered, "I checked in before 2:30, so it should work out." I have been putting off getting my lab work done for weeks because it has been a hassle every single time I've gone to quest to get my lab work done. You're not able to schedule and appointment online. Walk-in is the only option you have at this time (which is understandable due to our country currently undergoing a pandemic). My review has to do with the customer service. They lock their front doors so you can't get in. You'll wait in a line for 20-30 minutes prior to going in. You can knock but the personnel will ignore you. I've been in the receiving end of waiting outside and being ignored when I knocked and waiting inside in the gallery or in the back to be called. You have to check-in once you walk in and the wait time is always 95 minutes. All the personnel is grumpy, angry and moody. This is my 4th time trying to get my blood work done. I've been to the Jacksonville Beach, Beach Boulevard location, Southside location and finally this location on University Boulevard. The last 3x I went to Quest I had to leave because I either had to go back to work or didn't feel comfortable waiting in a large crowd of people. The worst part is. I finally told myself that I will wait the 95 minutes and as I sat and waited at the University location. The wait was only 15 min and not 95 minutes. Every thing is done through kiosk and the lab techs are secluded behind closed doors. They don't have any updates to let you know when you will be taken back. Zero customer service. Their ad running in the waiting room assured patients that if you have an appointment that you'll not have to wait long at all and you would be in and out in a flash. Not the case. They are only open till 2-3pm most days but close early ALOT so if you work third shift forget it. They are not accommodating at all. I went ahead and left bc I had to be fasting for labs. Do not come to this Location without an appointment. I chose this location because it had the shortest wait online. When I arrived, there was maybe one person in the lobby. I checked in and was ordered to wait in the lobby or in my car due Covid. I was told I would receive a text to enter. After waiting 20 minutes in my car as instructed, I was inclined to check my text and I got one small message stating "Please return to the Patient Draw Center for your collection now." Ten minutes after arriving. I entered, of course when I saw the message. And the front desk raved about how they called me several times. But only received one message that was easy to over look. Not much social Distance and people were coughing in the waiting area. When I arrived inside, my name said eight minutes to wait, but the number kept getting later and later. They allowed others in front of me and didn't bother to give me priority. I went back up to the desk where she turned to the other nurses and said "didn't we call her along time ago?". I told Her I was scheduled to work at 9:45 and needed to be out. She said appointments take priority. It is now 9:32 and there are five others waiting . I just got my lab paper three days ago and the soonest apt was for April 5th online. I was called a few minutes before 9:45am and the woman who took my sample was friendly, fast, and had an upbeat personality. Luckily, my schedule started at 10:30am. So I walked in and first thing I hear is a grumpy front desk lady say " you need a mask" and I don't mind wearing a mask when asked however when the person asking is rude it makes want to refuse just because but I didn't, I did what I was asked. They only have a few seats for people, everyone else has to wait outside and at least it seemed fairly clean in there. I don't usually take the time to write one star reviews, but because I felt like my time and business were anything but valued today, here we are. The short version is; if you are a walk-in, don't go by the estimated wait time the tablet tells you when you check in. It's not even remotely accurate, but there will be nothing to indicate this for you. I arrived at this location as a walk-in this morning, fully understanding that they may be busy and/or short-staffed, and that I may have to come back another day. I arrived and checked in on the tablet in the waiting room, and was instructed that my wait time would be approximately 18 minutes. I patiently wait as that time comes and goes, for another 30 minutes. At that point, I was getting concerned that I might not make it out of there in time to get to another appointment I had, so I asked the woman checking people in if she thought I'd get out of there by the time I had to leave in another 30 minutes, and she said no. So I had to leave. This would have brought me at least one hour past the estimated time indicated by the tablet. I am generally a fairly understanding and patient person. But I had to go out of my way to fast for this appointment, and do it on my day off, which made this extra aggravating. Had the tablet simply been even remotely accurate in what it told me my wait time would be, I would've been fine with returning another day, and just gone home and had breakfast. Came in at 6 am for a walk-in 3 hour glucose test today. There were 8 people ahead and the screen says 55 mins which almost made me walk out but second look, the time kept going down to 15 mins as they check each of us in. As a hard stick myself, I was hesitant but each sticks were good and trust the phlebotomists there. I haven't had really had time to get the blood work done my primary care requested because I work 12 hour night shifts as a machine technician . I worked last night and planned on going after I got off at 6AM to do them because I had a primary care appointment coming up . So I didn't eat all night / only drank water and clear liquids because my labs were "fasting" labs . I walk up and the door says "face masks required" . I didn't have one on me or in the car so I was hoping they would have some like MOST places . But I walked in and the women behind the desk were the most rude and nastiest people I've spoke to in a while . Before I could even say hello and ask if they had any , one lady said "you need a mask to be in here" . I asked if they had any and they said no . I said I didn't have any either , what do I do . The other woman behind the desk PULLED HER MASK DOWN and said "no mask, no service baby" very loud and rude . "Baby"? Are you serious ? I'm not sure what a five star experience would look like when someone is poking me with a needle but this is the best run quest that I've been to in Jacksonville. Made an appointment for first thing in the morning so I showed up a little bit before 6. Upon walking in there are 3 iPad check-in stations which is a huge improvement over most location's paper check in. Once checked in your name appears on the TV so you can see where you are in line and your anticipated wait time. It took no time at all to be called up to the desk where the ladies working were very enthusiastic, especially for that early on a Tuesday. Once there, you wait around the corner to go into a booth to get whatever you need to get done. This is a very efficient operation they have here and I wish that others would follow. read more

When I went back at 10:27 they told me I missed my appointment by 10 minutes and had to wait in line indefinitely. One of the rudest employees I have ever met conveyed this info to me. So I've been using this Quest for several years now because I live right up the street. As far as labs go, it's fairly good. My insurance uses them so that part of it is okay and I haven't ever had a problem. It's a pretty busy place and they are always short-staffed, so you better have an appointment. If you have one you will have to wait, but only about 30-40 minutes. No appointment, hour or more. There usually isn't more than one phlebotomist at a time and the patient's stack up quickly. They check in lots of patients at a time and then draw blood. It's very frustrating for everyone. Now with COVID the labs are SUPPOSED to be checking temperatures and following the standard procedures, but they don't. This is the second time I went to a Quest lab and none of the standard questions are asked, people can come in and no distancing is really required, you are kind of on your own. It's optional to either wait on your own. There is an app on your phone to check in with and you get a text when it's your turn to go in so you can do it that way if you want, other than that you're on your own. The tech's wear a mask but that's it. I feel very uncomfortable when I go in there because of the lax COVID standards that exist in the lab. Unless you absolutely HAVE to have lab work done DON't go and ALWAYS have an appointment. You don't want to be there any longer then absolutely necessary. read more

I am giving 2 stars as I am not a 'patient' using Quest, I used LabCorp next door. I am not an overly Covid-germ worrier. Let me start by saying that right away. I do the standard social distancing, hand washing, masks...etc. What I saw outside in the hallway shared by LabCorp and Quest....I went into full Covid panic mode. I was disgusted to see just how many people were waiting in the hallway packed like sardines in front of their door waiting for their name to be called. I saw elderly who could barely stand leaning on their walkers. No spaced out chairs for their patients to wait comfortably on. Everyone was just packed together....it was atrocious! They have a huge hallway where empty stores sit....use the space and social distance your patients!!! Give chairs! Have sanitizer stations. I was so thankful I went next door and was in and out in 30 mins. And the same poor people waiting in hallway were still standing there. It was so hot out..but you had an elderly woman sitting outside bc she didnt want to wait inside. Could you blame her!! I would never use this specific Quest. Seeing what I saw turned me i to a Covid-fobe nut...and I dont care. It was horrible seeing so many people packed together when it was not needed. read more

I'm giving one star for the whole STAFF, they were courteous, kind, professional and caring. No stars for Quest the company or their facility. I was basically in a cubical IN THE LOBBY being asked personal and sensitive questions about my condition and lab test. My doctors office didn't fill out the correct codes and the staff member had to call, again my information being told to the whole room because the staff members phone is basically in the lobby. I over heard the patient next to me and his story of Crones Disease. The lady on the other side who apparently passed a stone two weeks ago at Baptist hospital. Has Quest EVER HEARD OF THE HEPPA LAW! I will ask my doctors office AND insurance company for a new lab. Not going back. I was in tears with embarrassment. read more
