The phlebotomist I had could have been more personable especially since it is an uneasy feeling of getting blood drawn. The lab itself could use a makeover. If you're purchasing Quest Health tests, do not even bother going to a lab location. It is such a headache if you have multiple orders. I have had to do 3 follow-up blood draws to literally complete 3 panels. It's like the techs do not even do "Select all". And then after the appointment, my blood vessel needs to heal due to the apparent bruising on my arm. So I am waiting 2 weeks between each appointment for something that could have been completed in 1 single appointment. Only taking iron supplements helps the bruising go away quicker. If you have a SINGLE PAPER as a doctor's order of all the lab tests to be done, then you'll be okay/FINE with any Quest location. The employees work better with physical papers. What a mess system. I tried to make an appointment on the phone for my labs and then I was told after waiting for about 15 minutes that could only make an appointment online. I hung up and went to make an appointment online and there was no option to do so. I called back and was told that I just have to walk in because it's first come first serve. This was not a problem to me, because I did not need my labs immediately. The next day, I walked on in and was prepared to wait. This particular location opens at 6:30 in the morning so I got there at 6:35, I was not even greeted, but I was told to "come back another day because they were going to be too busy to see me. And I could make an appointment online". I was then given a business card with the phone number that I called twice which told me I could not make an appointment and HAD to walk in. I re checked at the website seeing the lady at the door told me to make an appointment online, but there was still no option to do so. The mixed signals confused me (and everybody else who has turned away at the door) and I believe all departments should be properly informed and on the same page on how the appointment process goes. Very bad experience. I went to quest to pick up a sample container for my son. I walked in and there was no one there to talk to just a kiosk. The kiosk only gave me two options that did not apply to me. I went to more options and there was an option to pick up a container. I clicked it and it gave me a number and prompted me to sit down. I waited 30 minutes and a lady came out and asked if I checked in and I said yes and gave her my number. She told me that I did not check in and the kiosk dosn't give numbers. Then she decided to turn to the waiting room and with a smirk on her face told the room i did not check in. She basically called me a liar then decided to tell the waiting room. I was so embarrassed. I should've checked earlier but the male worker there was giving attitude and telling others that they are backed up. Showed them the link proving I checked in. Then they took me back. When I arrived, I checked in at the kiosk, and it stated my wait time would be one minute. Less than a minute later, Angelica took me back. She was friendly, introduced herself, and I handed her my paperwork. After typing in all my info, she explained the process to me. Check-in process was simple via a digital kiosk and the phlebotomist did a great job. I expected a wait, as there usually is one in these type of places. The customer service received by the employees was fine. They were polite and knowledgeable. The environment in which you place your customers during their wait is not acceptable. With only 4 customers only being allowed in the waiting area and the others must wait in their car or outside. For elderly customers dropped off, the heat is unbearable. At least put some chairs outside. As I was unable to provide a urine sample at the time I was told I could drop it off at my convenience. I arrived at the location, during normal hours, to find another customer knocking on a locked door. She was dropping off blood samples and someone answered finely but immediately said "The computers are down". We both said we were just dropping off samples but that did not seem to matter. I asked what should I do, she said to try tomorrow. I questioned with the sample that was in my hands??? She said she would get me a new container to use. Why is there not a manual process that would be used to complete the business at hand when the automated process is not available? Why should a customer have to continually knock on a door hoping an employee will answer during normal business hours? Why wasn't a sign placed on the door stating the reason for it being locked and providing your customers with alternate service locations? I will now need to find a new provider that can provide the services I now will need on a regular basis that will be able to meet basic service expectations. read more

They have 4 chairs in a 18 x 24 waiting room. I have a torn ligament in my knee that was hurting so I did the option where they text you a link and you can wait in your vehicle. I filled the link out and waited 30 mins in my car and no call for test so I came in and I was Not in the que and a lady was complaining about the same issue. She had been waiting and when she complained the lady was rude as hell. She was defensive and raised Her voice and would not let the lady explain her issue. Went to Quest this morning as a walk in and signed in as a walk in. I did realize that there might be a wait but I was prepared to wait patiently! After seeing that my number was 11 as a walk in I was ok with that! A hour latter and the room had cleared out multiple times I checked the screen again and my name mysteriously had changed from number 11 to 12? Okay so again I waited another 1 and 1/2 hours then checked the screen the room filled up yet again with many walking and frustrated people and low and behold my name had now changed yet once again to number 13!!!!! Finally someone came out from the back in a lab coat and she got questioned by several people that were frustrated like me! Then came my turn! I asked her why my number kept changing and I was told the following, "there is only one lab technician on duty, and we are running 2 hours behind on our appointments today, plus we are not taking any walk ins!!!!! I said "NO WALK INS??? SHE Replyed yup NO WALK INS!!! That's a real crappy way to run a business you let people check in, but don't, have them wait all that time and NEVER inform them you are not taking walk ins!!!! Crappy job!!!! Well I had a great experience! Even after reading other reviews that weren't so complimentary...I made an appointment because of the convenient location and I was seen within 10 minutes of checking in! I told them I needed to lay down for the blood test because I get very light headed and they were very accommodating. I had a very nice tech named Renee who was very kind and did a great job! So I was scared for nothing and I will be going back here again next time... in the past I've usually gone to the Quest Diagnostics on San Jose Blvd but that location is much bigger and maybe that's why it always seems to take longer when I was there. Of course anyone can have a bad day or go at the wrong time but I do recommend making an appointment for sure! read more

I took my 93 year old mother to get fasting labs at 0630 Saturday. We stood in line like everyone else and watched the staff walk in so the doors are open at 0700. The doors open and a staff member informed us that on Wednesday that SanJose quest site no longer takes walking and we needed to go to another location or try to get an appointment. I quickly looked on line and the first open appointment was 1pm. We left with about 15 other very upset people. There was nothing posted on the web site...nothing on the door and no staff members who walked into work said anything to the line of people. This is the worst customer service I have ever seen. I've been here for basic blood work 4 or 5 times now (before and during Covid), never with an appointment, and my experience is always the same: Get there before 7:30 am, get greeted by the same friendly lady working the lobby, check in on the kiosk, wait 3 to 5 minutes to get called back, wait another 3 to 5 minutes while they process my blood work orders, get blood drawn, give urine sample, walk out the door. All the ladies that work there are polite, friendly, and professional. Plenty of parking and less than half a mile from I-95. Clean lobby, office, and bathroom. I had to have blood work done and I have a fear of needles/lab coats. I made my appointment online. I received a text to do a Covid screening before my appointment. I then received a text to do an online check in when I arrived for my appointment. I had the choice to wait in my car, wait outside or wait in the lobby. Then a minute later, I got a text that they were ready for me. The tech, Jonas, was courteous and professional. He noticed my apprehension and was very kind. He has the hands of an angel. Now I'm stuck without blood work when my primary care appointment is next week, and I'm supposed to bring my results with me (visit is entirely FOR this reason), so looks like I'm going to be forced to reschedule my appointment- likely for several months out given my doctor is always booked up. I waited over an hour for a routine walk-in appointment at the Quest in the Bartram Park shopping center. There were close to 15 people ahead of me. Once my name was finally called, I was subsequently turned away because my lab order from the doctor's office fed into their database under my brother's profile (true story). I was told to call the doctor to have them resend the order as if this was our problem and too much of a hassle for them to deal with. Later that day, I called the corporate customer service to explain the situation. I was told that this should have never happened and that the worker responsible "did not do their due diligence" to find the required information in their system and that everything was there as it should have been. I was advised that the supervisor from the lab was instructed to call me by no later 5pm on the same business day. This did not happen as was promised. On a final note, the employees working in the office were extremely rude and have zero compassion. I understand the convenience of this location as a resident of Bartram Park; however, I would highly recommend visiting a different location (Unfortunately, I am pretty much stuck with Quest for insurance reasons.) if at all possible. For this location at that time it said 1 minute. It was probably only about ten minutes from the time we walked through the door until we were done and out the door!
