This place is behind the new Chick-fil-A and the two-story medical building on the first floor to your left. I came here because Quest labs is my insurance preference. I was a bit hesitant after seeing all these reviews about even walking in the door. I sucked it up, put on my big girl pants and went in at 7 AM at my appointment time to get my blood draw There was a woman standing at the kiosk assisting someone who was trying to check in and then she also assisted me as well before she called back the next customer My appointment was for 7 AM and I got there about 6:50 AM and I was called back at 6:55 AM and the woman was very thorough and sweet. Asked about plans for the weekend. Just a little talk to make you not feel so much anxiety that I typically have when I am in situations like this. I told her to use whichever arm she wanted she put the tourniquet on, found a vein right away and with one little Pinch a few minutes later, she had all my blood and I was out the door. I know a five star review for a blood drawing lab isn't what you would typically give five stars for, because let's face it, nobody wants to get stabbed with a needle, , but everybody I encountered as well as the service I received was five stars. read more

Awful place and terrible people. I waited over an hour and a half with my sick daughter and was never seen. We ended up leaving. I spoke to one woman who was incredibly nasty. Avoid this place! Ended up going to the Sunbeam location and they are exceptional! A lady even came out and greeted all of us and stood in the lobby to help another patient. read more

I had a blood test today After the nurse tied my arm very tightly, she took out the first syringe of blood out of what was supposed to be three, then took out the syringe in confusion. It was clear that it was the first time she had taken blood, or that she was a trainee. She went out, then came back with another nurse to throw my blood syringe in the trash and to complete the task of taking the required blood from my other hand. read more

I took my daughter here last week to have blood work done. She is 19 and has never had that done and has a fear of needles. When we walked in, I shared that with the phlebotomist and she showed no compassion at all. As she was taking blood from my daughter and could not find a vein constantly poking her arm. Her phlebotomy skills are horrible. Then my daughter turned white and said she was gonna throw up and the lady just pointed to the trashcan and said there's the trashcan. Her name is Destiny and she is awful. She will never touch anybody else in my family for medical care. My husband previously complained about her because his arm was so bad after her Stick that he had to go to the ER. He complained to quest and the hires up and they did absolutely nothing. read more

I live in St. Augustine but choose to travel 40+ minutes to this lab on San Jose Blvd as the one closer to me (Old St. Augustine Rd) deserves five stink bombs, zero stars. I had an appointment for 7:00 on Tuesday, Jan 27th. at the San Jose Jax FL center. I fasted for the appointment and got up early for the appt. There were a lot of folks in their cars in the parking lot and several standing in the cold at the door to your building. I waited for 1/2 hour and watched many people stand in the cold waiting for the lab to open. I called the that location and one nearby (Old St. Augustine Road) I got recordings and had no option to talk to a human. When I got home I went online and saw your small notice at the top of your page saying that some offices would be closed because of the cold weather. YOU DID NOT NOTIFY YOUR PATIENTS WITH APPOINTMENTS AND YOU DID NOT EVEN PUT A "CLOSED" SIGN ON THE DOOR. I feel so sorry for the many patients who stood outside the door of the lab in the cold expecting it to open soon. That is a terrible way to treat your patients. You should be ashamed. Someone could have at least put a sign on the door so people would not continue to stand out in the cold. read more

Well, apparently, there was a auto accident that knocked out the waterline so they announced that there would be no drug testing, urinalysis, etc. then apparently the mother of one of their patients fell or fainted so they had to bring in paramedics but out of nowhere my name disappeared off the waiting list and I had to tell them , she had a hard time getting any blood from my left arm, so she put a Band-Aid on it and went to the right arm still have issues. She asked the gentleman nearby what he thought and he's like use the bottom vein I thought that was weird it hurt it hurt a lot. She took the blood , gave me my urine cup now I work nights so I was extremely tired and my time I woke up it was too late to bring the urine sample in so I gave it to my wife to bring in Monday morning while I was asleep from the night shift. They actually made her make an appointment to drop off the cup costing her 30 minutes of work time that was ridiculous. FYI it's now Tues 1:31am and my arm looks like this.... read more

Awesome experience. Had back to back appointments for my child and they were expeditious and took great care. Very professional.

The staff here were very kind and helpful. They are great at keeping things clean and getting you signed in quickly. I was a walk-in this morning and had about a 10 minute wait. I wish I'd asked the woman's name who drew my blood, but she had an outside left ankle tattoo and some pink Puma socks. She was upbeat, nice, and had a great sense of humor. Talked about grape smelling and slime feeling hand sanitizers which made me laugh a little. My only issue is that I had to go to a FedEx to print the doctor order instead of just emailing. I just don't understand in this digital age how we need the paper doc when I have it in PDF version. It also adds to the places and people I interact with along with the things I touch during the pandemic. Let alone having to hand it to someone at quest. Quest needs to be better there. read more

Very poor customer service. We got there for my son to do lab work and drop off stool and was told they wouldnt be able to see him without an appt as they were closing soon which the sign said 10 minutes. There were 0 people in the lobby. They wouldn't even take his stool sample without an appt even though nemours quest lab said we could just drop it off at any quest lab without an issue. What a joke!!!! Why do you need an appt to literally hand someone a cup of poop. I have worked in ER and critical care for 13 years, there was more than enough time to do the labwork prior to closing especially considering no one was in the lobby read more

Not only can they not get samples correct, but are unable to accept sample turn in 45 minutes prior to closing. I just went to quest for the first and last time. I called two weeks ago to schedule an appointment and finally got one, so I walk inside sign in and by that time its 12:55 my appointment time was for 1:10 but at 12:55 they told me to go sit out side till they text me, so I did. Quest has the most user UN-friendly website that I have ever encountered. If you can even figure out how to navigate it, and I did, they didn't honor my appointment by saying that it wasn't confirmed, and it was. There were other people sitting there who were waiting for over two hours and believe me, they did not look too happy. The outside of the facility is filthy and I would never ever recommend this business to anyone. I decided to pay outside of my insurance and go to LabCorp, where they honored my appointment right on time in an immaculate facility right up the road, with a cheerful clinician named Jen, who took my blood work without me even realizing during our conversation. What a pleasure that was. Stay away from Quest at all costs. read more

Another review from me, the last was some time ago and you'll see NOTHING has changed. First, I've been going to this location for years and prior to their renovation I was very happy with the facility and the staff. However, since about a year ago or slightly over things have gone dramatically downhill. I have already complained too their senior leadership with I called and was told I get a call back, that did not occur. A few things include the: small waiting room where you're practically sitting on each other's laps, let alone little to no room for wheelchair users, the lack of ability to get someone's attention, behind a combination door, no emergency button or buzzer, which is actually failure with multiple regulatory bodies. A patient was pounding on the door for almost 10 minutes with no response. There is no emergency button to push if someone in the waiting room has a medical emergency, there's absolutely no way to contact anyone. A phlebotomist once told me there's somewhere on the screen that you can press for assistance. I look for it on the first two screens and did not find it so if someone's having a medical emergency that type of delay can cause serious consequences and delays of care and calling 911 I'm getting assistance. When I had brought this up a year ago, I was told by the phlebotomist then that it's was not their responsibility however, since briefly discussing with a lawyer I know, it is their responsibility. Of course the individual phlebotomist would not be sued. It would be a Quest that would be by sued. Another infraction would be a fire issue with the door being propped open with a doorstop versus the quick release magnetic, which is required by fire code requirements. But again over a year has passed and nothing has changed. At this location, I know that they prefer appointments however, several of the people in the waiting room said they had called, (I don't know to which number), but they were told that a appointment was not necessary and they were waiting in excess of three hours. This is unacceptable. Many of these patients are sick and or chronically ill. Quest is not hurting for financial resources and should be ashamed that this is the type of service that they offer their customers. I was fortunate enough to have a phlebotomist by the name of Donna, take my blood today, she was very kind and compassionate couldn't have asked for a better phlebotomist. But there were so many things wrong with this experience and the experience beforehand and the physical layout and the infractions, both structurally and lack of staff that could be reported to several agencies some include the following: The health department, (CAP's)Laboratory Accreditation Program, JCAHO, office of Medicare and Medicaid just to name a few. If you have an appointment, the weight isn't too bad. However, be aware of the environment and its limitations to assist any patient in an emergency quickly. And definitely definitely get an appointment. read more

Went for blood tests. Had an apathetic, untrained, unconcerned very young black girl who was asking repetitive questions, rubbing her eyes, slow, etc. I asked her, "How long have you been doing this? (blood draws) She replied, "Sometime" I asked, "How long?" She replied, "Sometime". I asked, well months, years?" She replied, " Sometime." And I stood up and said, "That's it. Where's your manager?" Went by this location of Quest Diagnostics yesterday for my labs my doctor ordered. The location is very convenient off San Jose and Loretto Road in the Winn Dixie Shopping Center. I got there at 6:15AM because they open at 6:30AM. I walked to the door and there was already a line of about 10 people ahead of me waiting outside the lab for them to open. I got in line and once they opened at 6:30AM a security guard came out and scanned everyone's temp and told them where to stand or sit; letting in 3 to 4 people at a time. After going in I checked in at the tablet kiosk which is a little buggy; I went to sign in with the option for name/number/contact/etc and the only option was for a drug test, so I just checked that and took my seat. After a little waiting I was called back to one of the rooms where thankfully my doctor had called in what labs I needed so they knew I wasn't there to pee in a cup, but actually get my blood drawn. The phlebotomist was super friendly and we had a great conversation to distract me from the blood draw; I'm a big man that can't stand the site of my own blood. I was on my way about 7AM; so 30 minutes after opening was all it took. read more

While experiencing the ridiculously long wait at Quest Diagnostics I witnessed a mother and two small children who had also been waiting much longer than myself. As well as several others who had been waiting for very extended times as well. When the mother went to the desk to ask when she would be served after more then 70 minutes of waiting she was very rudely spoke to by Alex and his manager Melanie the manager condoned his behavior to the patient. When other people came in and saw how long others had been waiting they of course ask this in the waiting room if they should expect the same experience. We told them most likely since that was what our experience had only been. Why would Question train their employees and managers to serve their patrons this way as well as have any walk ins sign in on the kiosk and then be bypassed for hours with absolutely no communication from the employees or manager? Then when people are completely confused and frustrated the Quest employees speak rude and very condescending to the patrons. It's unbelievable a company can do that at all. The employee named Alex refused service to the mother with children. Then when others walked in and ask me and others if our wait had been extremely long and I told the truth that it sadly had been for me and several others Alex and Melanie refused me service at that time. That would be a 0 star rating if possible. I was in on Thursday and was hoping for Regina. She always does an excellent job and never leaves a bruise! I've had a lot of medical problems including home health. I understand my body and veins... I informed this phlebotomist that I have a lot of scar tissue so some veins that look good aren't great producers. She wasn't listening and I had trouble understanding her. Seeing it was only one vial this visit I thought what is the harm, well a huge bruise, after the bleeding finally stopped after 20 minutes. Assuming she used to large of a gauge of the needle.... And the scar tissue didn't help. Not very happy! As I already have health issues or I wouldn't have been there! Next time I will refuse and wait for someone else, like Regina! As my GP thankfully does bloodwork on site. So this isn't something I have to do routinely! Thankfully or I would have to find a new lab, with more phlebotomist like Regina!!!!! read more

There are times when writing a lot of negative words is exhausting! So this review I will keep short but honest. You walk in, sign in via touchscreen "iPad". You do not see or speak to a staff member, I'm assuming, because they are assisting customers in the back. This should streamline the whole process from wait time to the time you get your blood drawn. This is not working so now what? I have had my blood drawn many times from another Quest and/or Labcorp so I know the process and I also know not every person is the same, however, it should not take 2-hours with approx 8 people in the lobby. The first occasion they couldn't find the Dr.'s lab order just before I got up to leave they found it twice but only had it for one test, not two as ordered by the Dr. Second occasion they couldn't even find my appointment and I had to leave. I have visited this Quest a few times over the years since it is in a fairly convenient location. I mainly go on Saturdays and I always make an appointment. I highly suggest making an appointment which can be done online or through their app. When you get in, you can sign in under appointments or walk-in. After you sign in with an appointment, if you haven't been called back within about 10 minutes, make sure you go back and check they haven't accidentally crossed you off. They tend to do it quite a bit. The last time I was in there, they did it to an elderly lady, I felt so bad for her. It has happened to me a few times which is why I caution you to check. The employees usually don't seem happy and can be a little rude but that's just how it is at most Quest's that I have been to. Overall I have preferred Lab Corp but my Dr. likes to use Quest so I deal with it. Like I said, if you're going to go, I really suggest making an appointment for better service and a shorter wait. read more

I had a really great experience at Quest this morning for some routine blood work. They are temperature checking prior to entry then you're directed to a kiosk to check in. I didn't have an appointment and only had to wait 10 minutes. My lab tech Ashley was extremely professional & gentle. The lab was clean and had an open welcoming feel.
