Heard this place has some of the best birria in town so we decided to check it out. Really enjoyed the birria tacos and the mango tajin agua fresca. The consomme didn't have any of the chunks in it but was a really fantastic broth. The Al Pastor wasn't great, but not terrible. The beans have an unusual taste, almost like there's really sharp cheese in it but I couldn't quite figure out what it was but it was good. The rice was average. The highlight of the visit was the crazy shoeless screaming guy on the street outside of the outdoor dining area. Not in a greah neighborhood, but that's often where the best food is found. Would've been five stars of the ambiance was a little more comfortable, we ended up moving inside because of the screaming guy and there were lots of flies inside. The Birria quesadilla was crispy, butter and I loved the cheese they used, the meat was kinda pocketed by cheese which helped the quesadilla not get soggy. The chip and queso left me a little disappointed- the chips were fresh the chili was perfect but it really lacked salt and I really didn't get any cheese flavor as is was masked by the green chili. The salsa was actually some type of green sauce, somewhat like a crema. It was really delicious, unlike anything I've had with chips before. Then we had the birria quesadilla. If you've never had Birria before, you have to try it! So savory and delicious. This also came with the green sauce for dipping. My husband also tried the burger tacos, which he really enjoyed. So this was our date through the alphabet that started with Q. The restaurant seemed fairly busy when we came. I ordered the ground beef quesadilla. And my husband ordered the asasa quesanachos which was under the speacialites. The food came out hot and quick. We wanted ice tea, which they did not offer, and they were out of Co2, so we had to do bottle drinks. I go my quesadillas with red chile which was different. It was super spicy. My husbands nachos did not come with any jalapeños again which was different. I would have liked to see some fresh salsa which would have given the meal a little fresher flavor. They have the queso birria tacos which are always hit. An order comes with three tacos and the birria consommé for dipping of course, you can share....but you might not want to! They will make you birria quesadillas, burritos and don't forget the birria ramen! The portions are pretty decent and the food is comforting. Their consome is by far the best that I've experienced in town because they seem to make it with a rich and (mild) spicy red chile. It's so savory and is just the right amount of salt. That being said, I could have definitely thrown in more onions and cilantro! We purchased a bunch of stuff to try because really...is there any other way to try a new place? Their Birria Quesatacos are loaded to the brim before getting their toasty cheese bath. Stopped by for lunch today and it was pretty good. This is a great place to get some but there are a few things that could make it better. The biggest thing for me was I was given only one salsa with my tacos. Usually you are given 3 or 4 options, even some pico de gallo, luckily I liked the salsa but what if I didn't? The tacos wouldn't have been the same without the salsa and if you don't like it then you are out of luck. More low calorie drink options would have been nice too.
