This is a great company. The technicians are very polite and are great at their jobs.

Their ploy is to tell you the previous owner had a contract that can be rolled over to new owners and have that first treatment free. The young man came twice saying the same thing and me telling him no twice. I already knew there was no contract with the previous owners. Read the other reviews and make a judgment for yourself. I just don't like having to say no multiple times and still recieve letters in the mail. read more

Very disappointed with our experience with Quell Pest Control. My wife was pressured into signing what turned out to be a 12 month contract that was not clearly explained upfront. If I could give Quell no stars, I would. They have been doing an OK job on servicing quarterly, I didn't really see a difference in bugs as there were still plenty outside. What really did it for me was they contacted me for a "free" termite inspection. They came when I was out of town for work and my husband was at home. They told my husband that we have termites (showed him a rock by our tree that had bugs), and then told my husband if we pay for treatment that day we will get a discount. My husband declined and said he needed to wait to talk to me as I am at a work conference, the servicer persisted for my husband to call me three times. So that was already a red flag. I then contacted a termite pest control company to come check it out and there were NO signs of any termites. In all, Quell tried to scam us for money with a problem that we did not have. When I went to cancel my quarterly service, they were rude over the phone as well. Paid 300$ to get out of it but well worth the money. read more

Scam Warning Deceptive Sales Tactics Quell Pest Control offered what they claimed was a free, no-commitment service. I was asked to sign a form so the tech could proceed no mention of a 12-month contract. Later, I was billed and told I'd signed up for a year-long service. When I tried to cancel, they demanded $300. This company has a scam going on with new home owners. Had a guy come up to the door - pass the No Soliciting Sign - and gave me the story of the previous home owner was supposed to leave a letter and blah, blah blah. I asked why are you not paying attention to the sign, Oh I saw that but the previous Owner, We're going to be down the street tomorrow and thought we could do your house too, lie, lie, lie! Shook my head and slammed the door and the guy was still talking. I opened the door and said what - Oh I was saying that I love you even though. I shut the door in his face again. It costs me $300 to cancel! I regret getting into business with Quell Pest Control. The sales person lied to me on the phone & said that I could cancel anytime without penalty. Then texted me an agreement to sign- which I still don't understand how I am obligated to pay anything... Quell cold called me 3 days after I moved into my house offering Pest Control & insisted that there was not contract term. 5 months later, I realize that my home is under warranty with another provider that had worked on the house prior to our buying the house. 90 days in, Quell mis-diagnosed my house with live termites (a $1,300 job for them), so I call the company that handled termite services at the house years before I bought. Their 2nd opinion showed that the termite tunnels were inactive- likely remnants of what they came out to solve in 2021. I decide to switch to the company who had the warranty on the house, & Quell is forcing my to pay out the remainder of the year to cancel. (Or maybe it's just a $300 fee.. either way, SHADY.) I could go & cancel the 2nd company to avoid paying 2 companies for the remainder of the year, but I'm learning that the gun-to-your-head method really sets me off. Lying sales person on the phone + harrass you via text to sign an online document as quickly as possible = the Quell service process. As far as monthly service goes, everything seemed standard except they could not reduce the number of wasps flying around the back yard. read more

They signed me up for a 12 month contract that I didn't personally sign. The signature block just had a scribble on the line filled in by whoever. They never mentioned anything about monthly payments but in that contract that I was never shown it shows you will be charged monthly. I was told you only pay quarterly and that's when they will come out to provide service so all the other monthly payments is just to make up for whatever initial fee they "wave" for you. I had a salesman come onto my property while I was in the driveway trying to tell me that I had a pre paid service scheduled for Monday. He told me the company did all the houses in my neighborhood in Katy. I asked repeatedly who paid and never got an answer. He kept approaching, touched my car. Addressed me by name and asked if the previous owner had explained the service. Owner information is Public record, which I told him, I told him repeatedly that I was not interested. He said my husband must have set up service, again not true. I walked back into my house. Called the corporate #, got an apology, I asked for an email address, i got the general service email, to send the video clips to but they did not take me seriously. I did tell them the next time we see one of their vehicles near our property we would contact police immediately. I can't post the videos here because they are too long. If you are in the Katy area do not speak to these people! No one should remain on your property when asked or told to leave. Additionally, this was an intentional hard sell using public information to get owners names, and blatant lying about the service being set up already. read more

Be careful new homeowners. They will claim the previous owner had an account so first visit is free. They will then want $50 a month and when you cancell charge you additional $300. Do not under any circumstances sign a contract or give them your CC information. Would be 0 starts if possible. This is a fraud scheme. read more

Same as everyone else. They tell you on the initial visit there is no contract and it's monthly. Half the time they come out and do not do what they are supposed to do (fill rat bait stations, etc.). When I emailed to confirm canceling at the end of my contract, they gave me the number of a remodeling company and said that their accounting department would call me at the end of my contract. Can't wait to end this service. *UPDATE* neither here nor there.....they said they flagged my review due to the phone number issue. Trust me, that is so not the issue with this company. This is a scam. Guy came by and said Quell had contract with previous owner. Said I was scheduled for service. I asked him to leave, but he wouldn't. Told him 3 times. Finally he left. I called the previous owner and he had never heard of them. The salesman was a very convincing liar. read more

A guy banged on my door like he was invited. I answered the door, somewhat annoyed and he spoke like I knew him...bad move! He continued to explain that his company was in the area for routine spraying and I had to stop him and ask if the "no soliciting" sign meant anything to him. He adjusted his tactic and said the previous owner of the home still had a treatment left on the quarterly plan. They could be out tomorrow...all the while, he continued to ignore my growing state of annoyance! I had to tell him, "look in trying to finish my dinner and if we decide on having the place exterminated, we'll call. He continued with his pushy plan on getting us to agree. I again interrupted him and said, "I'm trying not to be rude, but I just want to finish my dinner..." He continued to talk, but I stopped listening. I just shut the door while he was rambling on. If this kid would have just led with the idea of a treatment still left on the plan was available, we may of listened. However, he crossed two important lines with me that usually ends badly: Don't approach me like we are old friends if we've never met: Familiarity breeds contempt. They are a fraud.. A representative of QUELL pest control name jagger Moore came to my door, asking if I need pest control I told him that I need help with snakes, spiders and mosquitoes outside. He said they will do all of those and even put "snake be gone" and traps everywhere for snakes, mice and rats. JAGGER MOORE ALSO SAID that my house is the last house that he needs in order to make manager, he started begging. I felt sorry for him. when the first pest control man came, I found out that everything that Jagger had said was a lie. They don't do snakes. They don't set traps and that Jagger says that too many customers to get the contract , when I called the office they said that he has no position to be a manager and he is not part owner like he told me. They also told me that it was my FAULT for believing him, and that I have to pay $200 in order for them to cancel my contract. They are a fraud. Please do not use them. They are frauds. Steer clear from this company, you have to keep calling them and reminding them how to do their jobs. They do not have a clue what kind of service you're supposed to get and when you ask them about it, they ask you several questions as to what you had in the past. they kept calling me to get my business and I gave him a go, I have had to have them come out several times . I had my initial appointment and was disappointed as there were plenty of webs and egg sacs, etc. that were not addressed. I asked for a call using multiple methods and once I talked to them they agreed to send out one of their two most thorough techs. To my surprise they sent the same tech. When I called to discuss this, they said that the tech should be able to perform the work. Once I said that I wanted to cancel I was forward to another person who told me that he sent the invoice to me and proceeded to hang up on me. The work was not performed properly, period. Quell Pest controll, can not be trusted. My wife is deaf and we had scheduled appt at our new house. My wife explained to him we had ants outside and the other issues. He told her he will take care of it, 12 minutes later he was done. Confirmed he did everything we requested. After he left we reviewed all our perimeter camera and he was no where to be found except on patio. So lying to a deaf person. Then called office and was told they would resolve and not send same technician to the house. I confirmed because she was nervous about how he treated her. They then sent the same person again. The worst service i ever had , I bought a new house in Tampa i was contacted by Quell to continue service. It was set for one day then change to a day i wasn't even in state. When I told "Case the rep. Ineffective results and poor customer service! I used the company for about a year with no major issues. They weren't great, but average-ish until the last 2 services before my annual contract expired when the services became ineffective. I was simply going to let the account expire and not renew but the company surprise billed my credit card for a year of service. They provided no notice, no email, no reminders. I noticed the charge within a few days of hitting my card and attempted to contact the business, however they refused to reverse the charge. I made my case to the dispute department at Amex and prevailed, but now Quell is rebilling me for the renewal for which they have never performed any services. This company makes it impossible to cancel an account. All of the complaints here and on the BBB point to a pattern of poor customer service. I do not recommend this business based on my experience. read more

I signed up for these guys because they were a "family owned" "local" business. Come to find out they aren't local to me. Service was unacceptable from the beginning. I saw no reduction in an of the pests I hired them to kill. Even after repeated visits I am eaten up with fire ants right after they have "treated." The product is bad or they don't know what they are doing. After NOT holding up their promises they want to charge me $300!!! to terminate the contract they aren't holding up their end of. And said they would send me to collections if I didn't pay. Horrible customer service and they don't care in the slightest that they haven't performed their services which are to kill pests. Young man shows up at my door stating he is going to do a one time mosquito control service. I asked him if my fiancé has an account with him and he said no. He proceeds to push the one time service then wants inside my house cause it's hot. Ok. Then he wants to use the bathroom. Strange. He's in there drawing up a 12 month contract i didn't agree to. He comes out and takes my credit card and says here is the charge of 44 for the mosquito service. So i signed the credit card. The next month they claim a tech is coming by. Huh what? I get my fiancé to call and the say i have a 12 month agreement. WHAT??? I asked for paper work and there is one page with my initials next to 12 month plan. I never agreed to that. Another guy says he came by and never did yet i got charged 99 dollars. Folks this is deceptive bait and switch sales tactics. I will be contacting the state of Texas and the BBB. If anybody shows up at your house offering a one time discount service do not do it. You'll be signing a 12 month plan without your knowledge. read more

They called me after I bought my house in Tampa claiming that they did the neighborhood and that they were going to be around the next day. I explained to them that I do my own pest control and that I do not need any services. They will just keep talking and send you a link to sign a contract for a year. DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING. As many reviews have stated, they will be very pushy and dishonest, saying it's a one-time visit and that you will save the $299 they charge for new clients. I hung up and blocked the number. Quell pest control uses deceptive sales practices. I had a rep reach out to me and tell me my new house had an existing contract with the prior owners and that my next service was "free". I received a letter from this company claiming that the new house I just bought has pest warranty coverage and I can transfer it for free. When I checked with the previous owner they had no clue what this company is. Apparently this is a ploy to get me to sign up for a $60 month useless warranty and then charge me a hefty fee when I try to cancel it. Stay away from this shady company. read more

The representative who spoke with me about the Pest Control service was misleading in their detailing of the subscription process. Because of that, I was required to pay a $299 cancellation fee. And the representative I spoke to over the phone when I canceled the service was unprofessional and overall rephrensible. Would not recommend. read more
