**WARNING** Before considering Aptive Pest control of Fort Worth, pay close attention to their contracts before you hand over your credit card. It starts with their aggressive door-to-door soliciting--they promise you the world, rush you through a vague contract on an iPad where you can barely read the fine print, describing all the extra add-ons the sales person promised you and lock you in (after making a fake call to a manager and getting whatever he was offering approved by a "manager"). Once you're on auto-pay, the deceptive billing starts. They quietly increase your monthly rates without customer consent, banking on the fact that you won't notice the charges creeping up. I signed up in March 2025 for their $80/month PRO Plan, plus a $19/month year-round mosquito repellent add-on. When I finally sat down with one of their technicians to audit my statements for an hour, even he couldn't make sense of it. The charges on my account completely misaligned with the actual costs for the services - and they always seemed surprised that nobody called from Aptive to discuss. I was paying more for a bundle of Pro services then their Premium plan which not only INCLUDES mosquito repellent, but the total costs were $10 less each month with more scheduled visits throughout the year. He promised a manager would call me to resolve the billing/service discrepancies. Unsurprisingly, that call never came from a manager and there was too much going on for me to think twice about it. I had a garden I needed to bring back to life! The actual pesticides they use is just as much of a facade. I repeatedly asked the technicians to treat around my garden bed (singular) in the back yard, but they completely ignored it, leaving pests to destroy and spread diseases among my zinnias. Worse, the mosquito traps they placed in my dog gated run were a complete joke. After months of paying for that $19 add-on, the last tech finally checked the traps and inadvertently proved they were "bone dry", had zero evidence of any bugs in the trap and there were at least 2-3 visits after it was first put put and nobody filled it!! The sticky paper inside was completely blank, yet my August service record conveniently marked the Insecto trap as "depleted" with zero explanation as to why. According to the service record, nothing was done to replenish the Insecto trap I was paying extra every single month except that they moved it from the ground and hing on the fence - completely empty. Even more frustrating is that they have not once addressed concerns about this in my communications to them, with pictures and copies of the services records conflicting with what was done. You're ultimately paying elevated prices for services they aren't even performing, or they deliberately hide benefits you're supposed to receive. For example, my contract apparently included a complimentary annual termite inspection. I only found out about this when a tech randomly showed up to perform it over 15 months after I signed the agreement. When you finally catch on to the unauthorized price hikes and the phantom services they claim were done with all evidence to the contrary, they don't even care when a loyal customer (never defaulting on a payment) suddenly terminates their contract. After almost two years of faithfully letting them hit my card with BS charges, there was no apology or attempt to retain my business--just "okay, bye." via text message. I had to ask them for an official letter from Aptive confirming the cancellation. I didn't realize they ARE NOT accredited by the Better Business Bureau until I looked up and found nothing but complaints and horrific experiences from other customers about their integrity, inconsistency, non-performing and questionable products, repeat treatments, and high prices for sub-par work. Each visit was a different tech with no familiarity of your property or any high-traffic areas for pests to build nests. Their entire operation relies on pushy door to door sales, iPad contracts designed to trap you, price increases, and charging additional fees for work they DID NOT PERFORM. Save your money and find reputable pest control instead. There's too many valid/verified reasons to select a different company that DOES care about your business and maintaining a satisfied client-base. So do you not replace treatment at least every year? The tech didn't even talk to us after the "so called inspection". I never write reviews on social media, but this company needs to be investigated for deceptive trade practices and fraud. I signed up for their service in February and I was given a quarterly payment plan. They billed me monthly for the next 4 months at the quarterly rate we agreed upon. The amount paid in those four months should have been what I paid for the full year on the quarterly plan. I called their customer service line and was told that to be billed quarterly, I would have to pay approximately $50 more. I explained that I had already made four payments, so I should be good for the year. She stated that they had me on a monthly plan and there was nothing she could do about those payments. I regrettably agreed to the new quarterly amount. Two months later, I noticed that they billed me the increased "quarterly" rate in June and August. I contact customer service again. He agreed that I was on a quarterly payment schedule, but could not explain why I made "quarterly" payments in a two month period. I told him that I wanted to cancel my service because they are either crooks, or extremely incompetent. Of course he comes back with an offer of a discount on continued service, which I refused. Then he tells me that he can not cancel my service because I am not calling from the phone number on the account, so I would need to call back or send an email requesting cancellation. Long story short, if an Aptive sales rep knocks on your door, don't even give them an opportunity to make their sales pitch. They will make promises that they have no intention of keeping. I suppose I can at least give Aptive credit that their service works as I have not have pest issues since entering a contract with them. However, they'll drain you for all you're worth. Service was initially sold as an easy as needed, scheduled treatment. In reality, rescheduling unneeded appointments is nearly impossible without getting someone on the phone. Text reschedules, if even provided (as in the last 8 months they seem to have removed to option to reschedule via text half the time), are only able to bump your appointment by a max of two weeks - if they show any available appointment slots at all. Then they'll book you again without having any check in on your last day of service. My final straw was trying to cancel a service planned for a day, being told it was too late to do so, and then receiving a message that my next appointment was scheduled for less than a week later. I explained very clearly that my back gate MUST be closed when he finished because the dog will bolt out the second I open the door if it isn't. 20 minutes after he left, I opened the back door so she could go out and pee. And out the open gate she went. Had to spend 45 minutes with my distraught child going after her. Called customer service and got "ok, I logged your negative experience," with no offer of anything to make up for what we went through. Sucked from the get-go. Regret answering the door, I usually don't, so I'm especially kicking myself about it now. Salesman was doing a great job suckering me into signing up, saying our neighbors so and so had their services, saying they took care of mosquitos which I was adamant about. Kept getting right in my doorway (this was over a year ago, during the pandemic) and stated that he was vaccinated so it should be fine that he is so close to me and my living quarters without a mask (eye roll). Signed up for quarterly services which were more than our previous provider. Our initial service, no one showed up. Tried again and no one showed up. Third time they did show up. I was in contact with the salesman the whole time, felt we should get the $50 Amazon gift card they were touting for new customers for this inconvenience, he said since we already signed up we did not qualify but would pay for it out of his own pocket. He never did. As I said before, we've had this company for over a year. Here are the things I've noticed. They constantly try to come out every month. We signed up for quarterly. They forget that constantly. We have cameras in our yard, there have definitely been times they come out and charge up for front and back yard and the cameras never pick up anyone in the backyard. No decrease in bugs. Increase in spiders and earwigs in our house, absolutely no decrease in mosquitos or bugs outside. There has been times we get a good tech who takes photos of things he finds and texted it to me. That's was maybe twice though, in over a year. Very questionable business practices and employees. I started with Aptive and did not ask for automatic billing, after second appointment, to my surprise my card was charged immediately after the service, throwing my budget out of balance. Now after a couple days after service they start calling and harassing me about my unpaid balance, which I always pay. BEWARE OF UNPROFESSIONAL AND DISHONEST EMPLOYEES AND MANAGEMENT. Last service appointment the guy came and sprayed my house. I was having issues with roommate, now ex-roommate, and he told the guy he could have anything in the garage he wanted... which were all my belongings (tools, 3D printers, etc). I arrived and asked the Aptive guy if the roommate was giving away my stuff and was told no. Later looking at security cameras I notice the guy carrying items out of my garage... I contact him and his response is "I just sprayed for bugs, I didn't lay my hands on anything". After going through videos I saw over $3000 worth of my items go into the Aptive van. After contacting the guy again, he tells me that he was told he could have it (different story from what he originally told me). After contacting Aptive, his supervisor contacted me and said he would return my belongings. I only got about $300 worth of stuff back (small compressor, toolbox with plumbing pieces/tools, and old chop saw). Just some of the items taken and not returned Creality CR-10 3D Printer, XYZ Printing 3D Printer, Rigid Stacking tool box full of hand tools and complete Porter Cable Cordless tool set, Milwaukee reciprocating saw (almost new), numerous boxes of hand tools. The manager said it was a big misunderstanding and nobody was at fault... I disagree completely. I never accused Aptive of steeling anything, nor have do I now accuse them of steeling since the roommate gave it to him, but when called out about the incident within half an hour of leaving my house, I was told "I was only there for 15 minutes spraying for bugs" when in fact I have videos of him going through my garage and making repeated trips to his van with my stuff for over 35 minutes, after spaying for bugs. I hired them and they charged me $120 up front then said they were coming a few weeks later. I received a text from the technician saying they were 20 minutes out. I was outside cleaning my pool making sure my dogs don't get out. I message the technician asking if they were close because it had been a while. They tell me they already came and left. I get an invoice charging my card saying they didn't my whole property when they didn't and I have proof they didn't. They sprayed for bugs on the exterior and interior of our house about 4 months ago; and now we can't get them to stop pestering us to come back each month to spray again and again! They robo-call us and tell us they are coming for "our appointment" on a certain day and then there is no way to cancel. When you call them; they don't answer! Now they have told us they are coming tomorrow and we never made an appointment!
