A salesperson from Quell Pest Control came to my home at almost 9:00 PM, which I found completely inappropriate. Showing up that late in the evening felt intrusive rather than professional. He rang the door bell and knocked on the door! The interaction also raised several red flags. He addressed me by name, mentioned the previous homeowner by name ("you brought it from x..."), and told me they had left a letter when I bought the house. While some of that information may be publicly available, the way it was presented came across as unsettling. This was super creepy which I said and he then preceded to continuing talking and I said, I'm not interested. He also claimed that everyone in the neighborhood pays $112 per month for treatment inside and outside the garage/exterior and that they service the entire neighborhood (lies) on the same day (which was the day before) because it was the "super treatment." However, he also said they weren't actually doing anything inside the home during this visit, which made the explanation confusing. After reading other reviews, the sales approach is a SCAM and the company is a SCAM! Do not buy or sign up for anything. Based on the reviews you will regret it! read more

They mentioned the previous owners by name (information that's easy to look up) and claimed that they had done the pest service here previously. They offered to wave the initial fee since I would be 'transferring' the service from the previous owners account. They were very pushy about getting me to sign a contract online via text messages sent later. Luckily I dug a little deeper and found out they had never treated my house in the past. I'm extremely disappointed with my experience with Quell Pest Control. While I have been reasonably pleased with the technicians who have serviced my home, my experience with the company's sales and billing practices has completely overshadowed the quality of the actual pest control service. Shortly after I moved into my neighborhood as a first-time homeowner, a Quell salesperson approached me at my home late one evening after I returned from work. He arrived in a black Tesla and told me that the previous owner of my home had used Quell and that several of my neighbors were also Quell customers. Being new to the neighborhood and a first-time homeowner, that gave me a sense of reassurance and influenced my decision to sign up. The salesperson explained the service to me as $59 for bi-monthly pest control, which I understood to mean $59 when my home was serviced every other month. At that price, I thought the service was reasonable and agreed to move forward. What I did not understand from the sales conversation was that I was entering into a 12-month agreement requiring approximately $59 every month, including the months when no regularly scheduled treatment occurs. It wasn't until several months later that I noticed I was being charged every month. When I contacted Quell for clarification, I was told that the bi-monthly service essentially costs $118 and that Quell divides that cost into two monthly payments of $59. That is not how the pricing was explained to me by the salesperson. Had someone simply told me upfront, "Your pest control service is $118 every other month, but we will divide that into two $59 monthly payments, and you are committing to this arrangement for 12 months," I would have declined the service. I recognize that I signed an agreement and should have reviewed every provision more carefully before signing. I take responsibility for that. However, I also believe customers should be able to rely on a company's sales representatives to clearly and accurately explain the pricing structure and commitment they are asking customers to accept. When I raised my concerns with an account manager, I left the conversation feeling as though the responsibility was being placed entirely on me for relying on what the salesperson had explained. That was especially disappointing because the salesperson was representing Quell and its brand when the agreement was sold to me. Looking back, I wish I had researched the company and read customer reviews before signing anything rather than making a decision during an unexpected sales visit to my home. The technicians may provide good service, but unfortunately, my experience with the sales process and the way the pricing and 12-month commitment were presented has resulted in me losing trust in the company. Regardless of the quality of the pest control itself, I do not intend to continue doing business with Quell. My advice to anyone considering Quell is simple: before signing, ask exactly how much you will pay over the entire 12-month period, how often your home will actually be serviced, what you will be charged during months when no scheduled service occurs, and what it will cost to cancel. Unfortunately, I fell for it and gave my credit card information and signed some paperwork on his phone. He asked me to text pest control AI and his personal cellphone. He has never serviced my home or any home in my neighborhood. I called the company and they are aware that this is happening and according to the manager will speak to a sales associate. BEWARE OF THIS BUSINESS! Complete scam and bait and switch company. I called after receiving a flyer in the mail. I told the agent I had mosquito problems I wanted to mitigate. Tried to sell me on monthly service but I opted for quarterly instead. First visit lasted 5 minutes and no mosquito spray. I called to complain and was told the technician would come back out to handle. After a no show I was the told that mosquitoes spray was an extra service and I would have to upgrade to a monthly service plan. I expressed frustration and requested to cancel immediately only to be told I would be charged a $200 cancellation fee. The agent was over the top rude and it became clear that this was not their first rodeo for complaints or bad customer service.
