I've never been so embarrassed before in my life, I had come to this bar and they had asked for my ID and I gave them it. The first person looked at it and called over another person to take a look and it took a whole 5 minutes for me to even get in. At this point I was annoyed so I left because I felt discriminated against. And keep in mind I had been here yesterday. I had then made my way back to The Cuff which was down the block and keep in mind I was already there before going to Queer Bar and I had paid cover and my wristband was on my hand. I was then waiting in line for the drink at The Cuff and proceeded by 3 securities asking if I was just at Queer Bar. Not only was I already embarrassed at Queer Bar they made a FOOL of me at The Cuff I had to give them multiple forms of ID and they had apologized for it. I cannot believe this would happen to me. This left a bad taste in my mouth for Seattle as I was traveling. To the two people who "checked" my identification I hope you guys know you made an absolute fool of yourself because I had much more fun at The Cuff despite your idiotic methods. read more

The first time here was good, the second time was terrible. I was sober, I was just tired from my early work sleep schedule so I sat down at the seats by the entrance and security told me I had to get out for being too drunk. I told her that I was just tired and she said she didn't care and I had to go. I didn't act up before, I wasn't doing anything besides sitting and talking to my much more drunk friends. I was also the only person nearby wearing a lot of clothing and a mask...she had poor judgement. I'm starting to think she was the drunk one. Terrible experience with security. Ruined my night and indirectly forced my party of 7 to leave. They really just ruining their own business. Wouldn't come here again because of this awful experience. I've never had this ever happen and I hope I never see that woman again and I hope she is fired, thank you. She probably knew she did me so wrong because she started jogging away from the bar after she kicked me out and noticed I was a functioning sober woman who was also angry read more

Queer Bar is such a great atmosphere, the new owners really took their time in creating the space. A minimal and modern floor layout allows you to walk about nicely without feeling crammed. I absolutely loved the bold art work and displays; they really make the room pop! Fun drinks and great food. I was totally blown away that they are offering vegan options! The staff was super friendly and seemed really happy to work there. I am really excited about the future of this bar, my understanding is that it won't just be a bar, but it'll be a safe space for LGBTQ+ members to attend and become more involved in the community. read more

We've been twice now, once for happy hour the first week, then a weekday night for dinner and drinks. The remodel turned out really nice and polished - kind of loungey café meets queer Abercrombie store. The food is fantastic and not what I expected! Collectively we've tried the nachos, pear crostini, Mac n cheese, veggie burger, Rueben style veggie sandwich, black bean soup and sweet potato fries. The Rueben sandwich is the best veggie 'wich I've had. Skip the black bean soup - too watery and no substance. Sweet potato fries are overpriced, but delicious nonetheless. Nachos portion is giant and the mac n cheese can't be beat. Our server both times, Eliza, is superb and friendly, even when slammed with many groups. All gender bathrooms are a nice upgrade but could use a little more regular attention. I look forward to seeing a show on the weekend, but this place will definitely find itself in our regular rotation. I bought multiple Gold tickets for $50 dollars each for New Years. I was EXTREMELY disappointed at the difference of cost for services provided. First, online they said the basic entry ticket was $20.00 to $25.00 dollars. When we arrived they were selling them for $15.00 dollars. The Gold tickets which I purchased included a free coat check, a private seated section, and a personal bartender. The section for the Gold ticket sections was completely unsupervised and anyone could have walked in and used the seating or coat check. I saw people that did not pay the extra money using amenities that I paid an extra $30.00 for!!! While the coat check that walk-in patrons paid to use was supervised! It was a complete and total waste of my money. read more

I went for happy hour to check out the newest addition to the Capitol Hill bar scene. The space has been completely remodeled from the previece bar. It's done in black and white and is very sheik, clean and inviting. The entire food menu is half price at happy hour. I had the grilled cheese and tomato bisque soup. The sandwich was on nice crispy bread grilled perfectly and the soup was spicy and made for a perfect combination with the sandwich. I can't wait to try other selections on the food menu. The service was excellent and the drinks good. I will be doing happy hour here again. I also want to come and check out an event or two. I think Queer Bar is a great addition to the neighborhood. read more
