The crowd is rude if there's a perceived man there (which I don't like at all, because I've had trans friends with me that have gotten awful comments for simply being there). All in all- it's a fun time. But people - stop the infighting. Yes, it's a lesbian bar. Yes, we know you want a place to be yours. I understand. AND, there are plenty of people all over the spectrum and to attack people for being a man or a perceived man because they simply exist in your space is just ugly. If a man comes up to you and hits on you in a lesbian bar- go off girl. If a human being is enjoying themselves and doing nothing to you- LEAVE THEM ALONE. As a relatively new cross-dresser, this was my very first time venturing out into public, and I was incredibly nervous. Before going, I decided to email Wildrose to ask if cross-dressers were welcome, and they promptly and reassuringly responded, confirming that I would be absolutely accepted and made to feel comfortable. The only thing I don't like about wild rose is the DJ every time I've gone the music is bad and they are playing the same white boy songs on loop. I was catching a vibe with a girl and then Eminem started playing total mood killer. Consider changing the DJ because I feel like a Spotify playlist could do better. I really hope that they have different Djs for pride because I bought the weekend tickets because it's the only lesbian bar in Capitol Hill. My partner and I had a good time here. There was a $5 entrance fee, cash only. The place is small compared to LA/Weho bar/clubs. The line for getting drinks is pretty organized. They accept cash and/or card. Drinks were decently priced. For example, we got four Jell-O shots for approximately $25. There is also a small dance floor that can get packed, but we were able to still have fun and dance. There is a designated smoking/vape area. No issues with any of the people here. This is a great LGBTQIA+ location to check out. We were in walking distance to other bars and restaurants. read more

I realized I was a lesbian at Wildrose. I had a boyfriend. I've only ever had boyfriends. I've always been out as bisexual, but I was living in a far less accepting place at the time. I was visiting Seattle before officially moving and found out that Wildrose was one of the very few lesbian bars in the country! I had to go. It was so freeing to see a bar full of queer women. I danced and danced and danced before locking eyes with this girl. All of a sudden it was just me and her. I had never felt the way that I felt with her with any man that I had ever been with. My partner and I went to wildrose's queer songwriters night (4/16) hoping for a relaxing experience supporting local artists. TLDR: my girlfriend was policed by the bartender from using the WOMEN'S restroom. After sitting at the bar and chatting, we went to use the women's restroom, and astonishingly, the bartender had followed my gf and I to the bathroom door, saying she couldn't go in, the bar has an all gender restroom she could use instead. GIRL, if you're going to be transphobic, at LEAST let us piss in peace first. Wildrose, get with it. BE DONE POLICING RESTROOM USE. My trans gf has every right to piss with me without people harassing her. By the way, this is a 3-stall restroom, so there should be zero problem w two ppl going in at once. And there should be NO concern for my safety, as I had been laughing with and affectionate to my gf all night, clearly in sight of this bartender. As one of the oldest lesbian bars on the west coast, everyone feels welcomed. It can be daunting finding a bar with good vibes, good music and good rinks (alcoholic & non-alcoholic), but this is the spot for all three. There is never a time where you will feel judged or get the ick that you may feel when going to other bars. There will always be smiling faces and plenty of people to chat and dance with. There is a $5 cover on Fri/Sat, so make sure to have cash. The bar accepts cash:card. The bathrooms are the only thing I would change. The stalls are a bit tiny and even my 5'2 self has banged my elbow on the side of the stall. read more

I've been here several times for the dance nights on Fridays and recommended dropping by around 10pm when it starts to liven up! Come solo or with friends/a partner; the vibe is very safe, friendly and welcoming of female identifying individuals. It gets very full so plan to arrive before 11:15 or you might not get in. Small cover fee at the door, ATM in house. The DJ's are hit or miss depending on the night but the queer, femme ambiance is worth it! Sub par drinks, but the crowd makes up for it. read more

I came here on pride weekend with a good friend. We live somewhere where there aren't any gay bars let alone lesbian bars so we were really excited to hang out in an inclusive, queer space. That was apparently not happening for us that night. This rude bouncer, some guy with a beard, refused to let my friend in because her ID is from a well known US territory. She's a US citizen, everyone from that territory is a citizen. He insisted that it was the law of Washington state to require an ID from one of the 50 states and wouldn't budge on that at all. So, imagine our surprise when we looked it up later and it most definitely was NOT the law of Washington state. I came on a karaoke night and was super excited when someone picked Pink Pony Club to sing! I was singing along when someone in the crowd told me to "pipe down" because the judges' couldn't hear the performer. I didn't know there was a competition and I definitely didn't realize me singing along would impact the competition. The same person from the crowd asked the karaoke host if the performer could perform a different song for the competition. The host made a point to tell the crowd not to sing over the performer. My friend and I stumbled across this place because we thought it looked cool from the outside and had a good vibe. Yes, we were two straight men who didn't even know it is a lesbian bar. We couldn't find any space to sit down except for an open table adjacent to a table with two women. We asked them if it was ok to sit down and they were welcoming with no hesitation. We minded our own business without any interaction with them. They finished their drinks shortly afterwards and left. Yet, the little old lady with short blonde hair came by and told us we shouldn't have done what we did and said those girls left because of us. It was her way of telling us we weren't welcome. We were not allowed to sit down near others because as straight men, we were supposedly there to hit on women and make them feel unsafe. I had never been labeled a predator the way this lady made us feel. Ironic how an "inclusive" space would make two men feel so unwelcome. Sorry old lady, not all straight men exist to prey on women. I'm a 6' cis woman with short hair and tonight I got yelled at for going into the women's bathroom. I turned around to face the owner and she said "oh, never mind" when she saw my cis woman face. The drinks were affordable, the music was the best on the block (this was my third effort to find a place to shake my ass a lil for my birthday), and the people were considerate and chill.
