I am by no means a Jewish bakery expert but I was very happy with my visit. I was also very happy with the level of service I received, I asked someone there for help since I was a newbie and Alissa was more than welcoming and friendly with me, she even gave me a little tour of the bakery and highlighted some of their popular items. I really appreciated how she made me and my friend feel comfortable and welcome at the shop. The food: Meltaway Babka- it's a chocolate babka on steroids! Omg this was so damn good but it was very intense and on the sweet side but man this was so good. Eat this with some tea or coffee to tone it down. I went with the classic and I was very happy with with the version here. I would easily come back just for this. I thought it was great, not too rich or oily and not too sweet. So the food products are great and always have been but the customer service has always been hit or miss . But this time an older Buharian cashier lady and seemed to be the only employee in the store on 11/6/24 5:12 pm was extremely rude. While she was speaking to another buharian guy and his wife and kids all was good so I wonder what changed ?? Was is that he had a yamaka and I didn't ? Or because I not speaking her language and she was not sure I was Russian speaking as well. But still zero Excuse me for being rude for No reason I was just asking if there were donuts available today " her response was why would there be donuts on a Wednesday?" Went to check out what might be available on a Friday afternoon. Got a huge challah loaf for $6.50. They had 10" cheesecakes for $15 and Ring pound cakes for $10. Lots of other choices like cookies, rugelah, brownies, rolls, and challah. read more

We've been coming here for years to fulfill our sweet craving. The store is located in the same neighborhood as my Mother-in-Law's. We usually get chocolate or cinnamon rugelach. They're delicious! I like rugelach at this place. If you visit during Chanukah, you see tons of jelly, and other types of donuts packed in four. Strawberry, raspberry, chocolate, blueberry, and they got them all! Yummy! For the Purim celebration, they prepare different kinds of hamantash cookies. Nice! They offer sugarless cookies too, but the regular cookies are not too sweet, which I like. read more

I have been coming to queens pita, religiously, for the past 7 yrs for burekas (dairy, potato,spinach), challah and the best donuts for Hanukkah! Not kidding. I cross the bridge for these donuts. They have the freshest and best selection - halva, jelly, custard (personal favorite), Nutella. Parking is never an issue for me. Pastries were all consistent across the board. We tried the custard sufganiyot, the Nutella sufganiyot, the hamantaschen, and what I presume was their take on chocolate babka. We had the sweets over the course of four days and they held up pretty well. Good shelf life and I think they would have been good for at least a week and probably more. I'd say the chocolate babka was probably the most well regarded of them all, but I think any of the items I tried would have been crowd pleasers. Pricing was very competitive too. The employees are rude especially the older blonde lady. Why is your long hair down while you're handling open box cookies? She never understands which cookies i'm choosing because she doesn't pay attention. first time i bought with her i paid cash. total was $6 and i paid with $10. she gave me back $13. I went back and returned the extra money to her because she didn't not do her math correctly. I come in today and she is again not paying attention and rushing me. she clearly sees me discussing with my mom which cookies i will choose and she interrupts me twice to say hello which one do you want. and that's after she taps on the counter for me to check out. why am i being rushed and referred to like i'm an anímal? i think it's time to hire a new person and someone who is able to focus more. read more

I was leaving without taking a picture. I came here to show my sister where she could get challah bread after coming from a trip to Israel. She bought more than just a piece of bread. She was also getting desserts for friends . But I just couldn't help staring at a fly or two not wanting to keep away from the bread just like my sis. This place is a hidden gem tucked away on the q44 route. It's a humble shop but with exceptional service and baked goods. The woman behind the counter was very pleasant and friendly and offered me a cookie, which was divine. Think of your favorite soft baked chocolate chip cookie from Entenmann's but slightly warm and freshly made. It was exactly that. I came for eclairs and didn't find any, but I did find delicious shortbread and challah that was so fresh it was hard to pick it up. I took a while to write this review and am still thinking of those soft baked chocolate chip cookies they make with the m&ms in it. Absolutely heavenly. My co worker came into work today with the Hanukkah donuts-custard and the Nutella ones. I had the Nutella one on my way home this evening. OMG, it was divine!!!! Came here for the Chanukah Donuts (Sufganiot).... someone recommended the bakery as having great fresh donuts.... they were right. Wide selection (jelly, blueberry, custard, halva, chocolate, caramel, etc etc). They also have a variety of other products - cakes, cookies, fresh baked goodies. Everything I've bought and tried so far has been of a good quality. They are a kosher bakery and therefore close early on Fridays and are more likely to be running low on selections that day. read more

We're new to the neighborhood and not Jewish but this is a pretty good bakery! I first tried their chocolate pastries, very similar to a nice chocolate babka. Jerry Seinfeld would approve, and it's personal size! They also have borekas, spinach, mushroom, potato, and cheese. I tried the first two, the mushroom was especially good. I have been coming to Queens Pita for years as they have the best Jewish baked goods including Challah rolls, cookies, hamentashen, and Sufganiyot (Jelly Donuts). For the final night of Hanukah, we came here and got a box full of the Sufganiyot to celebrate. The donuts are very good and have a delicious jelly filling inside. The service is usually good, but at non-peak times, such as 3pm on a Monday, I felt the quality has went down, with the challah bread being hard and stale. Despite this, I am looking forward to trying their other offerings, including the hamaschten and the sufangiot. Plus, when it is good, the challah is great for less the cost of a bagel. Queens Pita is really just a bakery that has many types of freshly baked pitas. Now the general consensus is that Kosher cooking is bland and often lacking compared to other places. The pita, which I bought and ate a day later, was crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. It was really delicious. I also bought some of their mini chocolate croissants and mini pretzel rolls that are on display in the boxes when you walk in. While they tasted like 5 star pastries, they only get 3 stars because the meshuganah woman working there has the gall to charge 8 dollars a pound. This is the spot. My friends and I go for daily walks in the summer and once a week we stop here for coffee and a sweet treat. Try their chocolate horns or the croissants, especially early in the morning when it's all fresh and warm! We also like the assorted cookies for when guests come. The ladies who run the shop know all the products very well and are so friendly! They do warn that though certain items don't have nuts in them, though, they can't guarantee "no contact" so they were very kind to advise us on that when one of our guests mentioned a peanut allergy.
