Years ago they were much better, Now seem to always serve old fruit tarts and cakes! Not fresh at all! They just keep it until it sells, instead of throwing away! read more

A staple of the Briarwood neighborhood and a go to for everyone in this area. Friendly staff and the prices are reasonable.

If I wrote this review solely on the first time I came here a year ago this place would've received *Zero Stars* automatically. My initial visit to Pani Dolci was terrible. The employee I encountered was extremely unprofessional and curt. I inquired about a menu being that I was new to the neighborhood. Her response was highly inappropriate that it nearly kept me away forever. I would pass by the bakery religiously and not take a second look. On Thursday, 6/18/20 I decided to stop by and instantly I was greeted with warm smiles and courteous replies. I really appreciate the warmth and professionalism I received as I perused the bakery items. I decided on a White Chocolate with Macadamia Nut Cookie, Chocolate Chip Cookie, and a Dulce De Leche Cheesecake. The Chocolate Chip Cookie was average and a tad on the crunchy side. I prefer soft baked cookies. read more

This is definitely a top notch bakery, slash ice cream shop.you have so much pastries to choose from.today was my first day in this shop with my son and my wife. We had been by this particular shop numerous times and today we decided to go inside and check out what kind of treats this bakery had .And we were blown away . They had red velvet cake ,chiro's ,cheese cake donuts, strawberry cakes, cookies, cream puffs, cup cake, apple bread pudding. I could go on all day about the amount of pastries they had.the establishment was clean ,and the cashier was very friendly and courteous.plus the prices weren't bad for a A1 establishment like this. We had made our decision to get a dozen of double fudge cookies, that didn't disappoint at all, this bakery is definitely a queens hidden gem, right there in the heart of briarwood. I think I found a new favorite bakery in queens. read more

Very disappointing. Their red velet cupcake was terrible. The texture of the frosting was something resembling Elmer's glue and the cake itself a dry sponge. The cannolis weren't much different. read more

I have been here a couple of times prior and it's been ok, I work for a Italian Restaurant that makes everything fresh from scratch so I know what to expect. I have purchased cakes from here before and they don't seem fresh at all, they won't last a couple of hours in the fridge without tasting off, moldy, old or watery. Today, just like 30 mins ago I purchased a slice of plain cheesecake and a brownie. I have never been so disgusted with the flavor of a cheesecake before, it tasted like when it has been so long in the fridge and it starts sucking the flavor of everything in the fridge and my brownie tasted and looked like a chunk of sand. Very hard, very grainy not a moist- gooey brownie at all. This place is definitely going downhill. Please don't sell old pastries is disgusting! read more

Their cake are good and fresh, however theirs customer service needs help. Rude and unprofessional. You order a cake and it's never on time NEVER 3 times and all 3 it wasn't there yet. So don't give someone a time and make them come back hours later. Now I never order ahead and take a chance with what they have. Don't order the packed cookies old and stale. Bread is good. read more

Not really a desserts type of person. I usually get the assorted cookies for holidays. My family likes them. My dad enjoys the cannolis and the black/white cookie. The apple pie is good. They also serve icecream in the back. I've never had it tho. They serve bagels, croissants and muffins as well. read more

Delicious and beautiful! I brought the picture only a couple days before her party and they were able to make it. Everyone raved about this cake. Simple vanilla custard filling and vanilla cake. Not too sweet, just perfect! Thanks for the sweet ending to a perfect day! read more

***update on 8/9/18*** So I hadn't noticed the price changes until our next visit :( I understand small raises but it's pretty significant. I used to be sooo happy that I could get mini cannolis for .75 cents and a large for $1.50. It was such an amazing deal and for the price tasted pretty darn good. Now they've doubled in price, $1.50 and $3.00. Doubling in price hurts. It's the same cannoli, not elevated. Now it's about the same price as if you'd go to Little Italy. Also I jumped the gun on my last review. Hadn't tried the Lobster Tail yet and it wasn't too great. The filling was whipped cream (I think) and was stale. I love the renovations, but the price increases aren't justified. My husband said it best: "this bakery was great because even though it didn't have the best pastries, they were so affordable. Now it's expensive and mediocre." I wish subsequent visits were as exciting as the first. read more

I bought lobster tails and I asked her if it's fresh she said yes but the cream inside was so bad and distasteful what a disappointment

This bakery is a cornerstone of the neighborhood, in my opinion. I've been going here for over a decade, and the staff has been unfailingly kind and quick to rectify any mistakes that are made. The cakes are all delicious, and I've enjoyed every other cookie and pastry I've had here. I highly recommend their black forest and their tres leches cakes. read more

I have given this place several tries but it is always disappointing with their cakes. Maybe it's the ingredients they use but some cakes shouldn't be tasting the way it does. Today, I purchased a banana mousse. It tasted alright but then it had a really strange after taste, perfume like. Then I had the mocha cake which was not edible!!! I had to spit it out after the first bite. I Don't know if it was spoiled but sure smell and tasted like it. I hope they really improve in the quality. It's a cute store but man, its really disappointing. read more

I stopped by to pick up a small cake for a gathering I was attending. Even though it was later in the afternoon, they had a variety of cakes to choose from. My cousin previously had picked up a strawberry cheesecake that everyone raved about so I went the same route. It was only $20 for a small cheesecake that was enough to serve at least 6 people. It was a solid cheesecake with lemon-y undertones. Very rich and not too sweet. My experience with Pani Dolci is limited but would definitely come back in the future to try their other pastries and cakes. read more

The workers have "attitudes" that leave much to be desired. Not incredibly friendly- but not too rude either. The pastries here, however- are WACK AF. I ONLY come here on the very rare occasion that I'm in need of sweets- and F. Hills feels like too much of a "hike". Most of the pastries look "dated"- and taste flavorless. The cakes are CLEARLY made w/o any kind of dairy ingredients. At least that's how they taste. The frosting on the cakes are overly sweet to compensate for the LACK of flavors in the actual cakes. Only come here if SWEET takes precedence over FLAVOR. Otherwise- go elsewhere. read more

Smells weird in there and all the cakes taste like they have been out for a month little Debbie is even better

Today is my birthday and my husband bought this cake for me from pani dolchi.. As they are the only bakery we have in our area! This cake taste like feet. My husband asked them for chocolate cake and they handed him with this cake that has only chocolate crumbs outside and inside all watery cherry frosting. It's yak. I hated it. It tasted like it spoiled or gone bad... Seriously how in the world you guys is a bakery?? If your cake is this bad, you shouldn't be in the business.. Horrible taste, horrible design and horrible employee /owner.. If I could throw this cake on your face, I could sleep better to be honest. Thank you for ruining my birthday.. Go to hell! read more

The problem here is they keep goods way too long. They will sell you stuff that has gone bad or molded, and they don't care. It's a real shame since the pastries can be pretty good when fresh. read more

I come in everyday and get an iced coffee. I have for the past 3 years. The staff are always friendly and the store is always immaculate! The manager, Erica, is just as sweet as can be. I joke with her all the time about a lot of stuff. I swear I'm there so often I should be getting an employee discount!! Watch out though! Buying cookies and cakes can really catch up on you! It caught up with me for sure!! Definitely drop by and grab a snack and some coffee!! Tell Erica that Jayson sent you!! read more

I've gotten baked goods from here a few times since moving here 4 years ago. The biscotti were fine, but it's very hit or miss. Today I went in for a treat and got a turnover and an apple strudel. The turnover was okay, standard. But I was upset that the strudel was MOLDY! At $4, it's probably the most expensive item there, and I was sold one I can't even eat. Such a disappointment. read more

The pastries here are superb. It's nice to have a little bakery like this in the neighborhood. Their rainbow cookies and cakes taste fresh and the staff are attentive and friendly. They always engage in banter and have a warm smile when you interact with them. read more

Pani Dolci is by far the best bakery in the neighborhood. Their products are made with real ingredients that guarantees an exquisite and unique taste in all cakes and pastries. The place completely changed after the renovation, which now offers a larger seating area and a fresher look that will give you the experience of a true European bakery shop. Any poor reviews regarding the raise of the prices should be disregarded, as it reflects the high quality of the products you're paying for. As a side-note, it is still cheaper than Dunkin' Donuts. Any local would strongly recommend this place! read more

GIRL AT COUNTER WAS SO RUDE. I definitely wanted to get her name to make this whole review for her. When I asked for it she seemed like she didn't want to tell me, wasn't even making eye contact while rolling her eyes and I couldn't even understand her. I believe I heard Itsy or Izzie. I was excited to try this place out. I wanted vanilla cupcakes, so I went to handy dandy google and Yelp. I found this place and decided to head there. Store looked cute, clean and the food looked unique. Now I don't know if this chick had a bad day or didn't want to work there, but THERE WAS NO NEED for her to have a stank attitude. Why do you work there if you're not friendly, patient or pleasant. The way she handled my order, I'm sure you're losing a lot of customers. I said do you have vanilla cupcakes and with her crusty attitude she was like no we only got chocolate and Oreo. She didn't tell me when they would have vanilla or even have decent customer service skills to seem empathetic. She didn't suggest anything else and made it seem like I'm taking up her time. Please fire her and get better customer service. You definitely lost me as a customer and I will NOT be advertising or promoting this place to anyone... Terrible experience here first time. Don't go here unless you like bratty, unprofessional, dusted females that have ZERO customer service. I don't understand how she even got this job. You're around pastries and cupcakes all day, lighten up... on a side note, there was this older lady that took the guy's order behind me and she was delightful! She was naming desserts left and right and smiley! Too bad I didn't have her take my order. I didn't even want to eat the desserts I got because she ruined the whole experience!!!!!!!! read more

Briarwood's little bakery/cafe - lots of baked good options from cakes to cookies to bagels to pie to loaves of specialty bread. I think their prices are GREAT and more than fair. A small hot coffee is a $1 - a small iced coffee is $1.35 - you can't spend less than 2 anywhere else in the neighborhood for my beloved iced coffee. Their coffee is soooooooooo good too- I'm so glad I finally tried it and now I'm hooked. Please take my advice and get your coffee here over the poorly run Dunkins a block away. I wish they'd do a renovation on this place- it has so much potential. I always notice people sitting in the very minimal seating area up front either catching up with a friend, reading the paper or just enjoying a cup of coffee/baked good before work. This business looks old and feels old- Briarwood needs something modern and this could definitely be it. A trendy little bakery/coffee shop- wifi, comfy seating and more flare. It already has the perfect name. I could see it- I hope the owners do too one day. read more

I usually get cookies by the pound, cheesecake and the almond cake, all delicious. I have gotten a few of the cakes from them but They taste just like the stuff I get at the grocery just more expensive. I was a frequent customer however since they renovated the place their prices are a lot higher and not worth it for me. I still get cheese but nothing else. read more

A dingy little bakery. They are always fully stocked, which makes me question the freshness of the items. Cannolis are decent, lobster tails flaky, but nothing special. The staff behind the counter didn't ask if we needed help until we were inquiring about the goods. Unfriendly, and unfortunate, I would've been more generous in the rating if they were nicer to us! read more

Small neighborhood bakery. Not a wide variety of options due to space and when items are available they are gone at the end of rush hour. People who live in the neighborhood usually stop by right out of the train station to see what goodies are left. Prices are very reasonable and the service behind the counter is pretty good. Expect to take out because of limited seating. read more

Had the napoleon and fruit tart. They use a lot of cream in the napoleon. I was expecting more flaky layers, the cream was good though. The fruit tart used a different cream that wasn't as good. They should use the cream that they use for the napoleon. Staff was friendly though! read more

I almost hate this place for being so close by. It's like they're trying to force me to consume their deliciously fattening array of baked goods in their small, neighborhood-y little shop. And hey, why not take some home for later too? So far, my favorite is this white puff of real whipped cream surrounding a small center of cherries, all sitting atop a pencil-thin layer of yellow cake. I can feel myself getting fatter as I type this. We've already instituted an only-once-a-week rule. read more

I'm being generous with the extra star because I'm a regular who goes in almost every day for a cappuccino. I have the pastries once in a while, and I'm almost positive everything is fresh because a) I can taste it b) I've passed by at 5AM and I could smell baking. The exception to this seem to be the cannolis... it doesn't seem like they're very popular. The service is just terrible. I don't think there is a single friendly staff member. I've noticed that they don't have a tip jar... not that they'd make much because they're so unfriendly and inattentive but maybe their attitudes would change if they made a little extra. I don't know - maybe that comment was uncalled for, but seriously, you don't feel welcome here. The pastries here may be "sweet" but the staff certainly isn't. read more

Went in to pick up some rugelach from this bakery yesterday. I usually get 1 lb. of mix rugelach (They have 3 different flavors: chocolate, apricot and raspberry) and just stuff myself silly. I really like the buttery and flaky cream cheese dough. Also, the filling are amazing. I'd suggest getting all three flavor unless you have a particular like or dislike. All 3 flavors are great. Also got 2 containers of apple crumble. If the rugelachs were a 5-star, these squared mush would probably be a 2-star. Not fresh though, as you would probably imagine considering the foot traffic of this bakery. I find that if you toast it so the top gets crisps again, it'll probably bump itself up to a 3-star. I noticed a plethora of baked goods and cakes but I'm rather afraid of approaching them unless it's one of those pastries that are still good after sitting in the bakery for a while. read more

After being closed for 3 months and reopening pricing shot up ridiculously and doesn't even make sense. How does your pricing shoot up additionally after already going there. I've been going to this place every morning for a few weeks. Today I went in the line was long, about four people in front of me and then three more people came in behind me.
