I looked at their menu on their website, so I knew what I wanted going in, but they do have paper menus. I went with the Muffuletta on a Ciabatta Hero. This was massive! I enjoyed the saltiness of the olives, and the deli meats, as well as the slight crunch of the bread and lettuce. I recommend letting it sit a bit, so that the bread absorbs the moisture of the olives. I had to eat this as 2 meals and I enjoyed it just as much the 2nd time around. In addition to the sandwich, I picked up a half pound of Chicken Salad. I love chicken salad, and theirs is a good blend of flavors. There is an added crunch with celery and onions. I like that their chicken is shredded. It is on the creamier side (I like dryer chicken salads, because I like to eat it on its own), but I enjoyed this with some crackers. Overall, a solid spot for Italian food. They do make fresh pasta in house, so I will have to try that next time.

This place can be missed as there isn't anything to make it stand out. I happened to come across it…read moreas I was walking around the block. If you're in a pinch and would like to quickly eat some type of pasta that isn't fancy for takeout, this is the place to go to as there's no one really serving you. I walked inside, and there was no one to greet me. I think there's only one person working here who does everything. Once the person came out with someone's order, he explained everything to me, on how to figure out what to order and etc. I didn't really understand what he was saying, but I tried my best and repeated things back to him if there was a question. I followed the photos and what was written on the black menu by the wall. I ordered the small mama's bolognese. It is Reginette with marinara sauce with meat inside and has roasted garlic and parmesan. The employee asked me what size and if I wanted everything, or if I should alter anything. All in all, I'm not sure I'll be going back as the food didn't stand out to me.

Which disappointed me. We ordered spaghetti and meatballs, penne à la vodka with chicken, fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp and mozzarella sticks. The best out of all of them was the mozzarella stick sticks. The service was OK. The place is small and there's only like four benches to sit. I did notice there was a sign that said there is more seating at Elio's. I do not really recommend this restaurant for its pasta if you're looking for something super savory. But if you're looking for something fast and filling then maybe you could give it a shot.

I walked through this whole place with someone else, giggling with glee. I saw meat bread (lard bread), I saw a deli counter with delicious cold cuts & ham nobody pronounces right, and homemade salads, and smiling friendly folks behind the counter, and fresh SMOKED mozzarella (motz), which I've been missing ever since I moved to Jersey. There was fresh meats, pasta, fish, and ring sausage, cannoli, and homemade sauces, and pre-cooked Italian dishes for the folks who wanna try it all, but not make it themselves. Plus bottled and canned items I remembered as a kid, and most straight from Italy. The whole place smelled like parmesan cheese, and felt warm. All that was missing was the sawdust on the floors. lol (yeah I'm old). I bought pasta, their sauce, smoked motz, and parmesan parsley sausage links and made a nice dinner for my friend, enough to pig out and store for another day. The meat bread was heavenly, and if they don't have it every time I enter that place, I swear I'll cry. Their homemade sauce was perfection, and the sausage??? FUGGIT ABOWD IT! I bow to you Iavarone. I started off with the water melon feta salad which was to die for. It was very refreshing and just what I needed. For my main course I had the ricotta cavatelli pasta with added sausage. It was one of the best pastas I've had here in the U.S. I will definitely come back for this. For dessert I had the passion fruit ricotta. It was flavorful and had a side of strawberries. Coming here is definitely worth the trip. Enjoy!!

I'll admit, I was expecting a little more from the atmosphere. Based on the menu and the food I'd seen online, I expected the décor to feel a bit more elevated. The space felt more like a step up from a pizzeria than what I had envisioned. A few thoughtful touches could go a long way in making the dining room match the quality and presentation of the food. As for the food, I have mixed feelings, although there were definitely some standout flavors. We started with the "11375" Mushrooms. They were delicious, especially the fresh ricotta with its hint of lemon, the drizzle of honey, peppery arugula, and beautifully cooked mushrooms. My only disappointment was the mushroom selection. I was expecting a mix that included something a little more special...Hen of the Woods, chanterelles, or another wild mushroom, along with the more standard button mushrooms or baby bellas. The crostini were also cut quite small, so there wasn't enough surface area to hold the ricotta, mushrooms, and arugula. Slicing the bread on a bias would give you a larger piece and make the dish much easier to eat. It simply needed more bread. With a more interesting mushroom mix and properly sized crostini, this could easily have been a five-star appetizer. I'd still order it again because that fresh ricotta was SO good. My husband ordered the fresh spinach gnocchi with Bolognese. Were the gnocchi soft little pillows of heaven? Absolutely. Unfortunately, they were so soft and lacked any sear or texture that after a few bites, the dish started to eat almost like a big bowl of mashed potatoes. A little crispness on the outside would have made a huge difference. That said, the Bolognese itself was really delicious. I ordered the rigatoni alla vodka lunch special and added meatballs. The vodka sauce was delicious, but the meatballs weren't. I prefer a softer, looser, more tender meatball. Interestingly, as much as I enjoyed the vodka sauce, the homemade marinara served with the complimentary bread was even better. That sauce was fantastic. Overall, it was a mixed experience, but there was enough that I genuinely enjoyed that I would absolutely go back and try another pasta. The homemade pasta is very good, and there's clearly a lot of potential here. And despite my critiques, I'd order those mushroom crostini again in a heartbeat, especially for that lemony fresh ricotta. With a few small tweaks, some of these dishes could go from very good to excellent.

I haven't tried them all, obviously -- too many coffee shops -- but what I have tried, and come back to, over and over, is the products of the amazing team at Posto. It's not just about the skillfully made drinks or the balance of flavors, the fresh, Italian-style coffee or the filled-to-order Italian donuts and Maritozzos (iykyk) -- it's the overall ambience. You come here to put down the screen and enjoy the moment. So often do we rush through our coffees, or even bring them to meetings, at the beck and call of the city's hustle. But at Posto the kind, talented, customer-first team asks you to slow down and escape all of that, to savor every sip of coffee in the classic Italian style. Walking in feels more like a poem than a cafe. Gone are the transactional, disingenuous "how are you's" and instead you get to discover all sorts of fun barista (and bar) creations, Tuscan products, and fresh pasta. The servers and owner are always read to provide a recommendation, and like in Italian cafes, they bring whatever treats and drinks you land on to you. (My favorite aperol spritz is also from Posto.) Outside, the peaceful garden hosts two large umbrellas. It's vibrant, as if you're in a neighbor's backyard and they are willing to share a colorful moment with you, birds chirping overhead. As I finished the last drop of my cappuccino this morning, I realized that forty-five minutes had passed, and every sip of coffee was just as good as the last. Thank you!
