Wow! Skye is the BEST! I had put off getting a Brazilian wax for years until a group of friends finally convinced me by persuading me that Skye was great. I had bikini waxes in the past that were downright agonizing and the thought of a Brazilian terrified me. (Side note: I have the lowest pain tolerance possible) I went with a friend and made her hold my hand throughout the waxing, I barely flinched! Love Skye's professional yet super friendly attitude! She's great at her waxing; went here for a Brazilian & it was quick, non-painful & clean. She talks to you about anything & everything during the waxing process so you don't really focus on the pain, which really helps!! I've been going to Skye for waxes for five months now and I can't recommend her highly enough. She does a fantastic job and the whole process is quick, effective, and nearly pain-free. I made an appointment for a Brazilian and did not know what to expect. I had been going to another waxing spot for a while and had a pretty consistent routine. I was a bit nervous. However, I was pleasantly surprised. W/out going into too much detail (TMI), Skye easily waxed my stubborn areas in one clean pull. The super resistant areas that need a bit more (aherm) attention were no match for Skye. It's the technique that makes Skye's services so unique. Last week was my first time visiting this establishment. I had been looking for a place closer to home to get my waxing done. Stumbled across this place on yelp. Came as a walk in and was immediately assisted with no problem. The establishment was beautifully decorated with a light and airy feeling. Star provided my services Brazilian and eyebrow waxing. She made my experience incredible!!!!! While this is not my first time getting either of these services done this is the first time I'm had them done by something that actually informed you on what they're doing. Not sure how this place got 5 stars from people. Spent $50 for Brazilian waxing and double that in pain, suffering and medication!! I am not sure she knows how to wax...the job was not finished and she broke hairs all over. Had red bumps that turned into white heads. This is a wonderful business to patronize. The staff are professional and made me feel comfortable as a first time customer. The process was quick and simple. The pain wasn't extreme, and as a matter of fact for me it was mild. Honestly, it is what one could expect to feel with a hair removal process. Some areas of the body are more sensitive than others. It totally depends on the individual. I will say that a hot bath or shower before services may help to open your pores and reduce some of the "pain". My Esthetician Skye was just superb. Went with my best friend who made an appointment for us to go together. Both of us have about a 0% tolerance for pain so we were both super nervous and on the verge of cancelling all together. I'm glad we didnt though because it was definitely life changing! Location: Very convenient to get to with ample street metered parking. The building is very nice and secured with other professional office spaces in the building as well. Ambiance: Very clean and spa-esque with a warm and inviting aura. When I walked in she had already started her consultation with my bff and she told me I could come and sit in on her service. She was immediately very friendly and it was like talking to a friend that you had known for years. She makes it very easy to forget what shes doing because she truly engages you in conversation. There is soft music playing and dim lighting with only one bright light for her to be able to work efficiently on your "work area". Service: She starts with a consultation letting you know exactly what she is going to do and why and also addresses any concerns you may have. She gives you a few minutes to get undressed from waist down and then comes in to assess your situation (I was about as bushy as you can get and had worked all day and came straight from the train there and told her I was super self conscious about the "condition" that I was in. She reassured me that I was fine and gave no judgement. She says she has seen it all). She began the service and as a first timer I was expecting the worst and it actually wasnt as bad as I thought. Dont get me wrong its not completely painless because there are some areas that are more sensitive than others but she does a good job at minimizing the pain. She used a combination of a cherry scented wax and a chocolate one depending on your needs. She worked quickly and efficiently. I had ALOT of hair and it was over before I knew it. I'm so glad I found Skye Rose! I've been trying to get an appointment since February as my last wax experience at another location was terrible. I initially told her not to take it all off as I was saving myself from more pain, but she assured me it wouldn't be more painful and she was right. I dislike writing bad reviews, but here I go. I purchased a groupon that expires Friday, the 10th. There wasn't any details on Groupon stating that I had to make an appointments for Mondays ONLY, the 6th being the last day. Unfortunately, Monday's do not work for me and had I known I would have gone elsewhere. I called and no one accommodated me for the inconvenience. Instead, I was told I should have checked their website, first, before purchasing. Maybe she is right. Clearly, I'm an asshole for trusting that the admin would detail their policies. I would have payed full price had there been some sort of empathy from mgmt. i hope to get my money back.
