My home away from home!!! The staff here are always friendly and super patient as I am always wanting the newest trend and lots of sparkle/design. I highly recommend an appointment since it is rare they are not busy with a wait. Lynn, Amy, and Viviane are my go-tos! They're skill is unmatched and I can always expect them to be perfect! I am a bartender so my hands are constantly wet and/or banging against things, they always accommodate me by making my nails slightly thicker to hold up to the wear and tear I put them through. I like my nails long and they hardly ever break! And if they do, it's most definitely MY fault and has nothing to do with the quality of work by the nail tech. The price you pay is more than reasonable for the quality of work you get. I'll never go to another salon. Here for 10 years and counting! read more

Walked in for a mani-pedi. Had never been there before. Waited 10 mins before my name was called which was fine. Had dip on my nails that needed to be soaked off. Asked the nail technician if she could wrap my nails while I'm getting a pedi. She stopped and went to ask her manager. Her manager came back and said no. "Someone else will be doing your nails. She has an appointment after you so someone else will wrap your nails when it's time for your manicure." So basically I'd have to sit and wait another 1.5 hours after my pedicure is over for someone to wrap my nails to soak the dip off then start on my manicure. Asked the manager why the nail tech couldn't wrap my nails during my pedicure then the person that will do my nails can do my manicure after and I won't have to wait add long. Manager repeated the same answer. I let it go. The nail tech that started my pedicure didn't finish it cause her next appointment walked in. So the manager finished it. I wanted a design that had rhinestones. The manager said I would have to get no chip otherwise the gemstones would come off. I told her I didn't want no-chip on my toes and also because it would cost more. I said, so basically you're telling me you won't do the design unless I get no-chip nail polish? She said yes she could do it with regular nail polish but couldn't guarantee it would last longer than a day. The manager did a crappy job polishing my toes and applying the gemstones for the design I wanted, which cost $6 per toe. She said they charge so much for the design because of the technique she has to do to apply them. What fucking technique? My 10 year-old could have done better. Design looks nothing like the picture I showed her. I don't expect it to be perfect, but at least look somewhat like the picture. Despite the crappy design, only a few gemstones came off 5 days later. Telling me i needed to get no-chip for the gemstones was total BULLSHIT and a ploy to charge more money. My right big toe nail is uneven. Asked to have it filed evenly twice. She filed it a little for half a second each time, but still didn't even it out. Besides all of this, they are way too expensive for the bullshit service I got. read more

Queen Nails - Nail Salons Near Me - Aurora, Illinois

I completely disagree with the overzealous hangnail/cuticle snipping! I was visiting a friend in Aurora and we decided to get our nails done for our evening out. I was reluctant to go to an inexpensive strip mall nail "salon", but she assured me that she liked this "salon". I should have gone with my gut instinct! I decided to get a pedicure and my friend went with a manicure. I asked the "tech" not to file the surface of my nails. BTW, unless you are planning on having fake nails put on, it is not necessary and it damages your nails. The tech looked at me as if I were crazy. She did not do as I asked. In addition to that, she took out the cuticle cutter and cut off the side of my toenail. Again, this is not necessary. In fact, my nails are a natural square shape, which is very apparent. Now it looks as though I chipped the side of my nail! Finally, pedicures typically take a little longer than manicures. I was out of the chair and under the dryer at least 5 minutes before my friend who was getting a manicure. Not only will I not be going to this "nail salon", I will not be patronizing any of these so called nail salons. read more

Absolutely loved my first experience at Queen nails. Amy is amazing. I came in with a dilemma from another salon and was very unhappy. She was so nice to help me out and I'm so happy with the results of dipping powder. First time trying it and I think I'm in love read more

Queen Nails - Nail Salons Near Me - Aurora, Illinois

I am beyond disappointed with this salon. I was in the salon YESTERDAY and I have already lost 3 of my acrylic nails. When Amy did my fill, my nails looked amazing (for about 5 hours). Amy asked if she could thin my acrylics down to make them look better, I said sure. After she was done, my nails looked better than they ever have. I left happy, and I went to work a few hours later. While at work I literally went to open a door, put a tiny bit of pressure on one of my nails, and it popped right off. The acrylic was so thin and brittle that it just popped off as if it was never attached to my nail anyway. I figured it might have been a fluke, so I called today, the very next morning after having them done, telling Queen Nails I'd be there around 3:30 to get ONE nail fixed. When I got to the salon, I was told it would be an hour and a half wait to get the one nail, that Amy messed up, fixed. I got frustrated and left. Now, a day and a half after getting my acrylic nails filled in, 3 of my nails have popped off from tiny bits of pressure such as putting on my shoes or grabbing my purse. I am thoroughly disappointed because I figured if I had paid so much money to have my nails done, and by one of the managers none the less, they would last longer than 5 hours. I definitely will not be coming back to this salon, and I am going to cancel my appointment that I had scheduled for two weeks from now because now I have to go to a different salon and get a whole new set put on because Amy ruined the set I have on now. Do NOT go to this salon for artificial nails. For everything else, they seem to be good but if you have acrylics, save yourself some trouble and go somewhere else. read more

This is where I usually go when I need a mani/pedi. I always do a basic one with regular nail polish. Nothing fancy. I have always been pleased with the work they have done here. I always just walk in and so have had a number of people do my nails. They have all done a great job. Do;t know how good they are with other things, but if you want a basic or french manicure, they are good. The pedicures they have given me last incredibly long... and I am someone who is out walking (3-5 miles) or biking (10-15 miles) daily, so my feet get a good workout. Honestly, the only reason I usually need to go for a pedicure is because my toenails need trimming. I have never experienced any peeling or chipping. My manicures don't last quite as long. I do a lot of cooking and using my hands quite a bit, yet I still get a good 1 1/2 to 2 weeks out of the manicure. The price is reasonable compared to most other places. I went to a well known salon once because of a gift card where it cost $60 for a mani/pedi that lasted much less time and was not as well done. I have to say also, that after walking five miles in the morning (llike I did today) going to Queen Nails for a mani/pedi and having my feet and legs massaged is a pretty great treat. read more

I would give ZERO stars if I could. Writing this as a LONG TIME customer who will NEVER return to this salon. Please save your time and money and read the reviews on this place. They used to be great, and they are now the worst in the area. Amy sits at the front desk, and she could not be any ruder or more pushy. She conducts personal business on the phone while she is working on her clients. She is dismissive, condescending and all about pushing the expensive services. I have witnessed her awful behavior time and time again. The pedicures here have become such a rip off. They do a mediocre job and continue to increase their prices. If you read the reviews you will see so many people saying that this place has gone downhill and continues to get worse. Do yourself a favor and check out other salons within 5 minutes of here with MUCH higher reviews. I have never been treated as poorly as I was when I last went to Amy, and she did not even offer an apology. Awful salon...with awful management. There are so many more high quality places in the area that will treat you with kindness and provide much better services. This salon has been around forever but they continue to decline and hopefully will not be around much longer. read more

Wow, I am really shocked at the rating of this nail salon. I went here today with my bff to get pedicures. She lives in the area and frequents this salon as it's her favorite. I thought the salon was very clean and professional looking. They had massage chairs and I also appreciated that they had a nice flat screen TV for your viewing pleasure in the pedicure area for you to watch. The gal who did my pedicure did a fab job from cleaning and shaping my nails to scrubbing my heels to massaging my feet and legs. My feet look fab! I also thought the staff was quite nice and the girl working on me was extremely knowledgeable as I was asking her about minx & gelish manicures. They were also very cute & attentive with young daughter of another patron getting a manicure. The tech kept her busy by giving her a little manicure of bright pink polish with black zebra stripes! The whole thing was just so precious to watch. I will totally visit Queen Nails for another pedicure outing with my bestie. As a head's up I was told this place can get quick busy on Saturday and that an appt. is strongly recommended. Also, make sure you are on time for your appt. or call if you are running late as they will NOT hold your apointment. read more

Came here for a mani/pedi ($39) along with brow wax ($10). First time here and am usually unlucky with service, maybe due to having real nails. I sign in and check off the services i was wanting. I chose my nail color and waited, typical sometimes as a walk in. Regardless, as I sat down in the chair for my pedicure, the girl tries to upsell to the spa. I said no. She hands me a price list of some extras they offered and out of curiosity, I opt for the callous treatment and 5 extra minutes of foot massage (@ $1.00 per minute extra), who can resist extended massage? After my feet are in the tub she tells me my choice of polish is $5 extra, it allegedly lasts for a week, sigh, not interested in drying my feet and searching for another color. Better yet, why not keep these separate and posted. Did i miss the sign? I reluctantly agree and ask her if I can come back for a redo if the polish doesn't last. I guess her response laid the groundwork for what was to come, apparently she thought my question was funny because she giggled. I will point out that while i have minor dry, rough skin on my soles, my feet aren't bad, an easy job, I would say. Regardless, she puts on some cream and brings out what looks like a grater. Honestly, not much to remove, she turned it to show some skin she scrubbed off but nothing impressive. She clipped my cuticle, i understand that this happens occasionally, but hurts, especially after soaking solution on a cotton ball that BURNS my toe. No warning, ow. The massage didn't last any longer than a typical massage I would have gotten anyway and nothing to write home about. The manicure was typical, I always file my nails before coming, otherwise, most times they chop of too much or dont file to my liking. If I got a hand massage it didn't leave an impression, i can't recall if she did. No matter, I still like the color. The brow wax was typical but when she is done, I see they are too thinned out, nothing you can do. When I get home, I realize one is not the same as the other. Sigh, I have to thin out the other to match, not sure why she did that, they weren't that thin to begin with and she should have asked. Later, the appearance of the polish looked messy, not smooth, not worth the extra charge. The callous treatment was another loss, my feet were exactly the same, dry and rough. All in all, i was disappointed and not worth the extra expenses. Unfortunately, I will not be returning. PS, customers like to control their massage chairs during the pedicure, not allowing us to use the controller is a disservice to the customers experience. Just sayin. read more

I've visited this place on and off throughout the years. I always like it and recommended it to people for years until the last time I got my nails done. I got long coffin shaped nails and had to go back a week and a half later for a fill. The guy that worked on me did an awful job. I'd originally paid extra for the length and shape and ended up completely butchering them, making them too short and not the right shape and also crooked. At the end I was in tears and just wanted the acrylic nails off. I spoke with the manager and she insisted on trying to fix them instead of removing them. I ended up going home and removing them myself. Find a different place to do your nails :) read more

I have been a client of Queen Nails for at least five years. In all that time, I have always gotten excellent service, quality products and been treated with respect. Both Lin and Vi (Amy) are very organized and intelligent. Many of their nail technicians have been with them for years, which is always a good sign. The shop is clean, updated, comfortable and welcoming. It is a little more expensive but Queen Nails is a professional establishment. You can take your chances walking in but I always schedule an appointment. Recently, I had my eyebrows micro-bladed here. Very clean, no infection and touch ups were handled quickly. I love having eyebrows again after plucking them off in my teens. My eyebrows now fit my face and are quite flattering. There have been occasions when I have observed some ugly behavior of the walk in customers. People come in, talking on their cell phone, hardly make any contact with the manager and then get upset when they are not immediately seen. Again, this is a professional establishment. Schedule an appointment, be on time and you will be seen on time. If you are ever unhappy with your service, just speak to Vi or Lin and they will address it immediately. read more

Very punctual and accommodating. Staff professional and upbeat and went out of there way to make sure I liked the color. Went twice for dip and they used the UV light which I have not seen elsewhere. Must book ahead, can't squeeze in last minute. read more

I have gone to this salon for over 10 years. It is always clean and the techs are very accommodating and knowledgeable about their craft. If they are unsure about something, they ask their colleagues. I would always recommend making an appointment if possible since they are a very busy salon so sometimes the wait time can be long. They cannot guarantee a walk in time over the phone. They have also added micro-blading (eyebrow semi-permanent tattoo) that is fantastic. I had mine done by Lynh because I have blond eyebrows and could not be happier. My daughter also had her brows done my Lynh because she had a scar running through hers that is no longer visible. As for the surprising bad reviews I've seen, if someone is unhappy with something they didn't understand what what being offered or were unclear in what they asked for. I have seen this many many times while sitting and getting my own service done. Be clear with what you want. If you don't understand when they explain something, ask for them to explain it again, don't just agree and then complain later. read more

if you're looking to get any type of artificial nail, i would NOT recommend this salon. They charge you extra for everything! I've been going to this salon for years. two years ago, i would have recommended everyone to go to this salon but not anymore. Today i went in for a fill & they decided to try to charge me $5 extra for the length of my nails. It's something new every time. i've never had to pay additional for my length. my length is standard. i didn't need a cut down or a lengthen. In the past, i've gone in for a new set & they charge to take off the old set. Why? if i am a returning customer? Then when they started taking off the old set, instead of soaking the nails off, they tech decided to rip them off for "times sake". I wasn't in a rush......... They charge for the shape of your nail, the length of your nail, i'm surprised they don't charge to take off an old no chip color when you're getting a fill. I'm just surprised with the additional charges for every little thing. If you want a pedicure/manicure, sure the prices are standard with any salon, but with artificial nails, they really try to take advantage of their customers. It goes to show all they care about is the money they bring in and not about customer satisfaction. read more

Pedicure is horrible. If you don't pay 6.00 extra to scrap your heels, you only get a feet wash with the little scrubber.

I give Queen Nails 3 stars because they always do good work, but that's it. Do not believe them when they say they except walk-ins. I made an apt and received a no chip manicure on April 21 and within a few days I noticed my cuticles are as though I've never been there. I went to get my pedi / mani done here today. I left with my nails looking ok, but my nail tech didn't clean under any of my nails! Gross! Isn't that part of a mani / pedi? She seemed unhappy to be working and after the 60 plus $ I feel like I was robbed. I will not be returning! read more

This is a top notch salon! I had no idea it was down the street from me. There are so many nail places and I feel they are all the same. None of them stand out. This place does! The manager, Lynn is very knowledgeable about nails. Whats REALLY cool about this place is they have TONS and TONS of no chip polish brands. Sooo many brands that offer every conceivable no chip color you could want. I cant even remember all the brands. I have my next 4 manicures picked out in my head already because I couldn't chose a color. The next great thing is THE PRICE! $25 for no chip....check around, most salons are $35-40. They did a polish change on my daughter too for $5 :). Happy I went in based on other peoples reviews. read more

Worst experience ever. I have been to several nail salons in the area and most usually do a good job. They give the worst service I have ever had. Unless you want to be charged for breathing find another nail salon. This was my second visit here and I regret giving them another chance. The first visit they were fairly busy and treated me a first time customer as an after thought. Amy has a negative attitude and though well-versed in their scripting is very condescending. Even though their menu board states a full set is $33 they basically charge upwards of $12 per nail for design on top of the base price (unheard of!) Probably wouldn't be as big of a deal if they were nicer and I didn't feel like I was at a used car lot. I'd pay the up charge anywhere else but here.. read more

I probably won't ever come back to this salon. I received a full set of acrylics and the man who did my nails was very kind and he explained that we would make my nails thicker so they wouldn't break. That's the opposite of what happened. Within two days my nail on my index finger came off while I was taking a brown pencil out of its box. My nails are not even long either. I guess it just wasn't put on right. I was not mad at all at the man who did my nails because of how nice he was to me. The next day after my nails broke, I was at work all day between the hours they're open so I would have never gotten the chance to even call. I didn't even know I had to call within 24 hours of the nail breaking. So I came today on Sunday and explained what happened and how it broke off so easily and she told me since I didn't call that I would have to pay $3 to fix it. I'm thankful it wasn't alot of money but the fact I spent $38 for a full set and now adding the $3 making it a total of $41 and that's before tip. I tipped $10 dollars which would make it a total of $51 for a full set of acrylics where I could have gone to another place that I usually go and only spend $30 with tip. And where I usually go they always last atleast 2 weeks. It seems like they're more worried about making money instead of valuing their customers. This was my first time coming to this place so this experience will encourage me to not come back. read more
