I honestly have wanted to gatekeep Jessica for so long, but I have to give her and Morii a shoutout. I drive from Chicago to aurora/batavia to get my nails done. She has been doing nails for I think 17 years? She is amazing. I show her any picture, she looks at it for 1 minute and she makes it come to life. I hate sitting still & so she is quick to get me out the door without compromising quality. The entire staff is always lovely, welcoming, & recognize me when I call & when I come in. I will continue to come. Also pedi's here are also great, I love that I can pick from a variety of levels based on how much I want to spend & what I want done. The second I walked into Morii nails, I was greeted with smiles and kindness. They asked me if I wanted a water, they asked me my services, and then sat me down right away I did not have to wait. Only giving this place a two because my first time was a good experience. My first time, Nancy did a great job at executing what I asked for. She removed my really bad Gel-X nails and gave me dip powder. My first experience with dip powder was really good! Loved how it wasn't thick and it felt like the shape was manageable. My second time around was not a good experience. I had made an appt @4 with Nancy and when I got there they told me Nancy was not in because she had a doctors appt. They offered to do my nails but I said no because I only trust what I know. No one informed me that she was gone and no one knew when she would be back. I told them I would wait since I needed my nails done for my engagement shoot. I waited AN HOUR. Nancy then proceeds to do my nails and my appt was made for dip powder. She proceeds to do acrylic nails and when I confronted her that it wasn't dip, she said that what she was doing is dip (it was acrylic, I know the difference) She finishes it and I was not happy with my design. This week, I visited Morii for the first time. I had stopped in ahead and spoke with the receptionist, and felt comfortable ro stop in for a pedicure. I believe Nam did a very nice job. I had a hard time picking a color. I did find one I liked. I asked for French tips. I knew the price of the package I selected. I expected an uncharged for the French tips. When I checked out, it was $20 more than I expected! After checking my receipt, I was charged $20 for selecting a color that happened to be no chip. While I was overall happy with my pedicure, the salon should be more upfront with uncharges. $70 was the most expensive pedicure I ever had! With the tip, $80 out the door. I'm not sure if I will return. If I do, I will be much more careful about my choices and ask more questions. Nam, my tech was great. read more

First, would like to say I've had nail extensions and dip manicures before. Lily is wonderful. This time was terrible. I asked the woman (a different person) not to clip my natural nails. She did anyway. Fine we'll do extensions again. When she finished, there was glue everywhere on the skin of my hands, my fingertips, under my nails...very thick. I told her the nails looked very nice but could she do something about the glue? She took a drill and started carving out between my finger and nails. My skin was still stuck but I didn't realize how bad. I paid, tipped her nicely and went home. That's when I noticed just how much glue was left. Several of my fingers were unusable on my phone bc my finger skin was covered in glue. It felt like I had stuff packed under my nails like if I were to scratch clay. When I scrubbed my hands again I noticed there were also small divots and holes in the glue which would gather dirt/germs/food that I couldn't quite get out. I woke up a couple times at night bc my finger tips were getting sore and tender under all the glue. I went back in less than 24 hrs to get it removed and ask for a refund. I talked with a worker off to the side bc honestly I wanted this fixed quietly. "That's normal, we don't do refunds" No understanding, no concern as soon as he heard refund he was rude. "All sales final" He finally offered to remove them. It took nearly an hour and a half for them to remove the extensions and all the glue. A second person stepped in to help. They were cutting the glue away with cuticle cutters. I asked them not to use the drill after the initial acetone soak and my raw bare nails were exposed and they respected my request. I paid all that money and spent all that time and all I got are pitiful nails so short, thin and scratched up now. Don't go here. They don't clean their equipment and I can't imagine everyone is properly trained. read more

So I called Mori salon one month after the damage to my nails and shared with them that I contacted the Illinois board of professional licensure and if they approved my claims, the district attorney will be contacted. My nails have not improved at all and Mori Salon was still dismissive about everything. They didn't even ask my name or try to apologize for the damage. Please don't use this Salon. I got my nails done in September for my son's wedding, they did an amazing job. I went back for a $45 fill-in, the next morning I got out of the shower and the no chip polish...chipped came off a good chunk. I called and could not go that day because I had to work. I went the next day, they fixed it by repainting it, the wrong shade, I asked them to fix it, they did. That night, the color still did not match my other nails... so for the 3RD time I went back. They fixed it, still looked bad... I decided to take them off which took 3-4 hours of soaking PER hand with acetone (I know how to take them off) it's never taken this long before. My nails now are thin and braille, where they used to be strong and I have blood blisters underneath. Won't be returning back, which sucks because I was happy with them the first time, shouldn't have to go back 3x in 1 week on the 2nd visit. read more

as a recent customer, i just wanted to comment on a couple things i have noticed within my experience and also after reading these reviews. the first thing that i wanted to mention is that the nail tech i had was very sweet, but the quality of my nails isn't the best. it's been 3 days and my nails are already lifting. i don't do anything that could've ever lifted my nails and i have never had this happen anywhere. my boyfriend who had also gotten matching nails with me for halloween also has his nails chipping as well. he also mentioned to me his nail tech was very sweet so that's a plus to everything within this experience. the other thing i noticed is the responses to these bad reviews by the manager are so passive aggressive, invalidating, and fabricated. it is blatantly obvious that the owner is trying to cover for the wrong doings and making sure that the business does not get a bad reputation. i know the manager of this business will probably see this, and the one thing i will say is that this is not a way to provide good customer service nor is it a good reputation to put out there for your business. it is highly unprofessional and very embarrassing how you have handled things. disappointing to say the least how you communicate and how you argue with these people that came to your nail spa while coming off very strongly in a angry way. i will not be going back and neither will my boyfriend solely for the sake of the management and how our nails have held up. nail techs are super sweet, but this manager has gotta go. reality check is needed for the behavior you put out. if you choose to respond to this, be respectful instead of lying just to put out a good look for your business. thank you read more

I came here as it is near where my boyfriend lives. Pros: Decent polish selection, super clean establishment, 20% off for grand opening special Cons: I waited about 30 min to be served on a Friday afternoon. I had a no chip and a pedicure. (I don't remember the name of the pedicure, but the one that was a $5 upcharge from the basic to include an extra scrub). The nail technician was really digging her instruments into my feet which was quite painful. There was a small child getting her pedicure done a few chairs down which I felt my technician kept staring at. I wanted to wait some time after my services to write my review to see how the polish lasted. Well my no chip on my hand started to chip within 3 days. I am currently on day 9 and all fingers are now chipped. The technician also digged into my big toe which still has a mark. Overall, this place missed the mark for quality. Been here multiple times and it was great until the last few times I went they had me waiting an hr past my appointment time, on multiple accounts, bc they had someone else in the chair. And everytime I do get in the chair and he starts my nails it takes him 2 hrs for a regular full set and 3 if I get a simple design. Don't get me wrong the design of the nails done by J are incredible but the service is not. The second to last time they had me in a soak off for an hr without checking on my nails and one of nails broke off bc of the acetone and the lady started laughing like it was funny. And the last time I went I asked for J to do my nails 3 times like it said on my appt I made 3 days prior and she replied with "J? Okay." The lady who did my fill in wearing glasses and a fiesta shirt did not say hi, thank you, ask if my nails were ok and left acrylic clumps under my nails. NEVER AGAIN. I HATE HOW MY NAILS WERE DONE HERE. Visited on a Sunday and should have left when noticed the tools are sitting out, dirty with dusting of acrylic powders, etc. and not coming from a sanitized bag like my other salon but tips were already applied - and it was Sunday, so.... Agreed with Janet on length - and then she aggressively filed with a coarse file once, then again down to nubs, leaving the tips of the nails super thick with pointy corners and went downhill from there. Painted on french edge on very top of nail only -leaving naked edge looking awful - and told me "well that's just my style". She "fixed" leaving globs underneath and looking like my 9 year old gave a manicure. Intended charge for ugly nails I need to soak off and get redone properly was going to be $57 plus tip. Manager supported the shotty job and reduced my bill to $50. Waste of time and money. Also, be warned I checked Google first and found tons of great reviews. After my visit I left a negative review which still isn't public (and the review is only visible from MY google account). Commenting to a friend she said, oh "Don't go there!" and told me about her bad experience - and bad review she posted also not public on Google. Next time I will YELP instead!!! read more

I have been going to this establishment for approximately a year now . Today I have experienced subpar customer service from the entire management team . I scheduled a pedicure for 4:45 pm with my preferred nail tech . Upon my arrival , my nail tech was still servicing another customer (which is not out of the ordinary ) and I was told that it would be atleast 15 more minutes before he can service me . I patiently waited and as time passed I was told that the wait would be extended since the current customer he was servicing was indecisive and wanted a design that would take a little more time . At approximately 515 the manager approached me and asked if I wanted someone else to start my pedicure since my preferred nail tech would be another 30 mins . I agreed . Ten minutes into my pedicure (enough time to submerge my feet and clip my toe nails) my preferred nail tech was finished . One would assume he would be coming over to finish my pedicure however the manager directed him to start another client . After voicing my concern , the manager responded as if I was the problem and refused to allow my preferred nail tech to finish my nails and informed me that I can either continue with the current nail tech or leave . The customer service I experienced today was absolutely horrible (for lack of better words ). The management doesn't care nor respect their customers which is truly sad . If you give your clients the option to schedule with their preferred nail tech the least you can do is honor that request . read more

Can I give zero stars? So many bad reviews on this place. I wanted to like this place but the service and quality is very sub par. The pricing is the highest I've seen in the entire fox river surrounding towns. The price gouging for extras like shape, length, designs, type of polish etc changes from week to week. One week a design on a nail is $2 but a few weeks later for same design, it's $5. The female owner may need some charm classes because her table side manner leaves something to be desired. It's inadequate to say the least. Now, I'm sorry to report the products used are also not good. I had a nail pop off each of the 4 times I frequented this establishment. They tried to tell me to come in every two weeks for a fill or they wouldn't stand behind their product. Sorry, is this a tactic to get more sales? They can't be serious? When I came to get my nail fixed it was a different price two out of the four times as well. These shady sales tactics are big red flags for consumers. When I break down a review I like to talk about 3 main points when sales are involved: Customer Service, Value and Quality. Mori Nails has flopped on all 3. This place falls short on all categories of a good nail salon. The nail shop has a somewhat esthetically pleasing interior but this is what we call "lipstick on a pig". Everything else is an immediate, no. There are too many good salons around to spend your hard earned money here. I had a wonderful first experience at this salon on 2/11/23. It was a busy Saturday and I waited about 20 minutes past my appointment time, but with it being Valentine's weekend I wasn't surprised. Annie was my nail tech. She was very sweet and lovely to talk to! She took special care to remove my previous acrylic set without damaging my natural nails. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she nailed it, literally! first and last time here. I typically get my nails done with a friend but she was unavailable and I had a flight the next day. I made an appointment with Nancy for 6, and still had to wait 25 minutes before getting attended to. She then proceeds to do my nails extremely quick, in a rushing manner without asking me whether or not I like my shape or anything. I'm not the kind of person that has the courage to speak up in a salon, but once I got home I noticed that my acrylics were pointing straight up and within an hour my fingers were pounding with pain because the tips were pulling my natural nail upwards. I called the salon about an hour after I left to inform them that my nails had no c curve and hurt so bad, and he said that it was because my nails were too short and that the pain was normal for acrylics. However, after asking my typical nail tech, she said the work was unprofessional and the angle of the tips would cause them to break if I hit them on anything. The next day, I messaged this salon on Facebook with images of my nail and they said nothing was wrong and that they hope that I can find somewhere else to make me happy. Extremely rude. This place doesn't care about their clients, they just want to get people in and out. In fact, the tech (Nancy) only takes cash and this catastrophe of a set cost 55 dollars. Updating my review after giving this place another go... I went for a simple French no chip on my hands and feet. They were able to get me in right away which was great even though they were busy (about 4pm on a Wednesday). The girl who did my nails was sweet and friendly, but the quality here just misses the mark. I usually have a good morning chip last me 2-3 weeks. By Saturday, the edges on several nails were already chipped. I paid over $100 for the services and it lasted 3 days. I specifically did this so that it would last for several upcoming wedding activities. The quality of the polish here just doesn't match the price. I was really hoping my first experience here was just it being new, but the second visit confirms the disappointment. read more
