Stopped in try out their chicken kebab plate. The humus was absolutely top notch, silky and so good. The salad was excellent. The rice was fresh and bountiful. Love the classic Armenian/Middle-Eastern Arayes dish, which is spiced and seasoned ground beef baked or fried in between pita bread, and seeing that they offered it here, ordered for dinner and sat down to eat. Unfortunately, as much as I hate leaving low stars for family run RRs, this was really...not good. It was over-fried to death, extremely greasy and heavy saturated oil marks throughout the bread. Huge portion, but (zero x huge=still zero). Meat was completely tasteless, and the side salad + hummus was as bland as can be, zero dressing and flavor, respectively. A waste of calories and $25 bucks; left a very bad impression and no inspiration to come back and try anything else. Food was 1 star for the item I tried; I must be living in an alternative reality timeline because none of these other reviews are even close to what I experienced. Im so glad I found this place which its right down the street from me, This was my second time going there and it was equally excellent both times. The love for making this style of food is obvious in this restaurant with the ladies in the back making it from scratch. I would suggest ordering for pick up unless you're dining in because it takes time to make quality food. The price seems a little high but, when you take your first bite you forget all about that. The combo we ordered was well seasoned tender and juicy. You can actually tell they put time and work on that seasoning on the meat. I give it 5/5. The service and hospitality 5/5. First time here! I tried the Chicken Shawarma Sandwich (wrap), it was delicious! The meat was moist and the wrap was perfectly toasted. Their portion sizes are generous and it's a great value since you can get 2 meals out of it if you're a light eater. I also ordered 1 falafel ball and it was like a pillow inside, very fluffy and fried perfectly. You must get the cucumber yogurt - it completes the meal! Excellent kabobs! We ordered via phone call with a big order nearing $115 so they let us know it'd be ready in 40 min. We arrived nearly on the dot and it was hot and ready for us to pick up and bring home. When we came in, the place was neat, clean, and looks to be run but hard working ladies in the back. Was driving past this area and noticed a new restaurant was open where Ora used to be. Went on social media and found out their grand opening was January 5. So naturally decided to hop in January 6 to check it out and be the first to review :) it's sandwiched in the corner of the munch box plaza between a dentist and what used to be firebirds. I went in around 11:30 and the employee informed me I was their first customer! Could tell there was a bit to iron out as she didn't know which receipt, after I paid via card, was for me and which was for her. Luckily I spend enough to know which goes to the merchant. She said it would take about 15 minutes. The place is small with about 3 tables but can tell it's not completely set up as they still had stuff from their grand opening taking up space. So I'm sure once they get going the seating area will be more organized. The look is the usual go to counter and the menu is above the counter and they have your usual Mediterranean fare. I got the beef kabob because that's my favorite. Total came out to about $21.58 pre tip. I got it to go and took it home. You can see the picture of what I ordered. Came with 3 logs of beef, a pepper/tomato, rice, small salad and 4 pieces of pita with very delicious hummus. She gave me free baklava because I was the first customer and WOW it was amazing. I recently discovered this place and keep going back for their lentil soup and chicken shawarma sandwiches. A friend also said the lamb shank was good (comes with rice, salad, and hummus) but the lamb chops were a bit underwhelming. I only wish they were a bit more consistent with their pickles - sometimes they bring them and sometimes they don't but perhaps they run out. I kinda started crying when I bit j to their beef swarma sandwich bc it tasted like my dad had made it (he passed away a few years ago). THIS is Syrian food!!!!! The hummus and baba ganouch are both homemade, from scratch!! The beef swarma is nothing like typical, mainstream middle eastern food. NO.... This is swarma specific to the region of Syria and I cannot find it anywhere!! The owner is the sweetest, kindest, most hospitable lady out there!!! We had Turkish coffee which was perfection. My boy friend expected it to be too bitter but he said it was perfect. Then we had kenefe to and our meal and it, too, was perfect. This is soul food. Please come and devour their food. We've ordered takeout from here three times. The first two times were absolutely delicious, so we were really surprised by our most recent order. Sadly, the grilled chicken was tough and had veins running through several pieces, the falafel was overcooked, and even the baklava seemed overdone with burnt bottoms. It was especially disappointing because we know, from past experience, how good the food can be. The woman working there is always so kind and polite, which made this even harder to write. We're going to give them another try because the first two visits were so good, and we're hoping this was just an off night.
