I have heard a lot of great things about this restaurant that is family owned and has been around for decades. First time, but not the last. Yesterday around 3pm, as I was in the area, saw this Falafel Palace and decided to pull into their big parking lot which is shared with other businesses. Their restrooms were also very clean. Walked in and was greeted by a very friendly employee. He was pleasant and gave me a rundown of their menu. They have a vast menu from bowls, to plates, to pita wraps, salads, many different types of sauces, vegan and gluten free options too. Just to name a few. Desserts, such as Baklava and variety of cookies. I did end up getting one Baklava and it was moist, fresh and delicious. Prices are super affordable for their portions. 10/10! I went with beef and chicken skewers, and asked them to put my hummus on the side and not to overcook the meat. I like my beef to be medium-rare to medium. Chicken skewer also had a lot of flavors to it. There were very well prepared and seasoned to perfection. I also got their Greek salad with lots of healthy vegetables. Stayed with water. They have many different types of juices: bottled, & fountain drinks. They even checked on me once, considering the fact that you place your order at the counter, and they will bring out your food to you. Food was very delicious & fresh, along with service and the ambiance in their outdoor seating and inside was SPOTLESS CLEAN with some great music playing overhead. So I was in a Gyro mood and usually when around Northridge I go for Pita Pocket but this time I wanted to try this place out as I've always driven by it so I always wondered how it is. So I ordered 3 Gyro meals. Lamb, chicken, and beef with the combo meal fries and drink. For the 3 sandwiches with each of them having a side of small fries and small drink I paid $71.29 for the entire order which is crazy in itself but the real crime was the food here, I am surprised how this place is been running business this whole time. First thing you do when you sit in a car? Take a few bites of the fries, and let me tell you that shit got stuck in my throat from how dry and nasty it was absolutely no SALT on any of the sandwiches and or fries... We all know salt makes everything more delicious and we had none of it. Me and 2 of my guests all had complaints on how unsalted and bland the food was. Also with a gyro usually you need a garlic sauce aka white sauce for my New Yorkers, they tried to charge me $5.90 for a SMALL plastic side of garlic sauce for my $20 sandwich. Save your money head over to Pita Pocket or any other gyro spots cuz this ain't it. It's really not hard to get a gyro down. Trader Joes also has a box of gyro meat you can buy make at home and I did once and it was WAYYYY better then this place lol. This place gets 0 stars for charging customers $20+ for a freaking combo meal that doesn't even include a garlic sauce. read more

Stopped by here based on a recommendation that they have great falafel. Easy parking out front. Lots of seating inside but it's a very casual vibe, more of a pick up and go place than dine in. I was a little icked out by the number of flies inside, I didn't see any by the food thankfully but there were between 10-20 flying around by the menus. I went with a falafel bowl. You choose a base, I got half lettuce and half rice. I chose falafel as my protein, you get 3 balls. And you get two sides and a sauce. I got mushrooms and roasted eggplant and hummus as my sauce. The falafel wasn't bad actually, they weren't dry which is so common with falafel. They're pretty large too which is nice. The rest of the meal was sort of ehh, plain iceberg lettuce, plain rice. The mushrooms were cold, I wish they served them hot and found that surprising. And the eggplant was ok. The portion was filling and it was an ok meal overall. read more

I have yet to find a better falafel or Boreka. Lived in the area 20 years ago and would in come once a week. Now I live pretty far but still try to make it in when driving down the 101. Great people and great food. So happy that they are still going strong. read more

Probably more of a 3.5 star, but overall just alright! I got a build-your-own bowl, which I got with lettuce, rice, falafel (3), pickled cabbage, tabbouleh, and garlic sauce. Though the ingredients felt pretty fresh and were seasoned well, the bowl was quite shallow and did not feel like enough food to justify the $18 I paid. I also wish that you could choose more than one sauce for the bowl, though our group ordered lots of different items and ended up sharing the tzatziki, tahini, and spicy sauces. However, they were super quick with getting food out! I came in a large group of 15 people, and we all ordered and received our food within twenty minutes. Despite my thoughts about the value, I think Falafel Palace is great for groups, and the parking lot in the back is also very handy. read more

First time trying this restaurant. I ordered the lamb shawarma pita. It was just average in my opinion. It was a bit dry and lacked flavor. The pita was great! The tzatziki sauce also lacked flavor. They do have a good Vegan menu. The service was excellent and the staff are super friendly. Casual environment. I did get to try a falafel ball and was underwhelmed by that as well. It was dry and had very little flavor. I probably wouldn't return given there are many other better options out there. Plenty of parking. I had the bowl and it was really great. The service was also really great before ordering, after ordering, receiving the food and while I had my food. The atmosphere of the place is nice quiet for the most part and really clean. When I went it was during lunch and not too crowed. This trip to Falafel Palace was for their Tacos. Recently while ordering a Purple Pita I saw the Tacos and they looked quite good. This evening I ordered 2 Lamb and 1 Chicken. Talk about homemade! This was my first time and boy was I impressed!! Everything about this visit was perfect. My entree featured both lamb and chicken - which as a first timer, this plate was perfect- I was able to try their proteins and their sauces with a great portion size. Apparently, this has been around the block since the 70s and might have reigned supreme then, but things have changed. With stiffer competition out here, Falafel Palace struggles to adapt especially when considering there's more authentic prospects throughout the Los Angeles area. I will start with the lone positive: The actual pita bread itself was amazing. Baked warm and fluffy at the correct temperature. Everything else was a bit of a letdown. For 18 dollars, sure you get fries and your drink, but the falafel balls themselves are not very tasty. Look at the picture. The color is more hued as brown/green when then color should be a bright green flavor. The balls were hardly crunchy themselves, but rather mushy. Only toppings you receive are tomato and shredded lettuce. That might work on a American sandwich, but none of these have the makings for a great falafel sandwich derived from the mediterranean or Middle East. read more
