The Service and Decor here are excellent and the Chinese food is good (Not excellent, but good) The sushi is not my favorite (I am biased and picky with Sushi) This is a perfectly good restaurant with great service and a nice atmosphere but generally the consensus on this place seems to be that they set an expectation with the decor that the food doesn't seem to match up to. The drinks are really great here. I would recommend a Mai Tai, Zombie or some Pineapple infused Vodka. (Be Careful, it's deliciously, dangerously smooth.) The Chicken Fingers, Lobster Sauce and Scallion Pancakes are excellent. The Wonton Soup was okay but more vegetable flavor than anything (Not enough Wonton, Chicken for my liking.) Also, they are only open until 11pm most nights when the late night menu is key for a Chinese Restaurant. read more

The 4 star rating for Quan's is based on Americanized Chinese Food, and with that observation in mind, the food is fresh, well presented and tasty. I did not try the Japanese side of the menu. I agree with the other Yelpers who say the restaurant is beautiful, and would add that service was first rate. Overall, if you are not a fan of wondering what mysterious ingredients are in your Chinese food, then you will like Quans. If you want more authentic flavors and don't feel like the drive into Chinatown, then try the Beijing House in Norwell. read more

Our second visit was yesterday and it was so good. We enjoyed our first visit last year but this one was even better. We don't live in the area anymore and enjoy restaurants so much when we do get to go to one. I had a lunch special as did my husband. We ate almost all of our food. Prices were reasonable and food tasted light (not greasy and just seems healthier) and was fulfilling. I thoroughly enjoyed it. read more

I have been to Quan's three times now and each time has been wonderful. I have only eaten at the bar and fine the bar staff both friendly and attentive. The sushi is excellent and if you like crab, i recommend the boston roll. The other dishes are very good as well. The restaurant is clean and nicely done. The only thing we did notice is we have never gotten a fortune cookie at the bar after our meals! :( But, I will be back! read more

The new Quan's Kitchen in Hanover is the best Chinese food I have had in a very long time. I would put it on the same level as many highly-regarded Chinatown restaurants. The food is fresh, light, and flavorful without being overpoweringly salty or greasy like you get so often in Chinese foods. We have gotten takeout and delivery several times, so we can't comment on the service in the actual restaurant, but the food is just awesome. read more

Sorry Quans. My second visit and I left annoyed. It took FOREVER for any food. As it was it came out backwards - for lack of a better explanation. Steak and spareribs followed by rice, then edamame, then sushi, finally rewarded with a drink in the end. Very bizarre. Had 5 kids with us who were bouncing off the wall because of the wait. with Tsangs 5 minutes down the road why would I come back? Overall the food was actually good but when you cant get it served to you, whats the point? Not sure I can muster the energy for a third try. :-( read more

This review is from months ago, so keep that in mind. I went here for the first time with my mom and 2 brothers. I had the Weymouth take out and was happy with it so I wanted to see how the dine in experience is. I've been in horrible Chinese restaurants where the decor is a dead giveaway lol, Quan's Kitchen was very decently decorated, clean, and well maintained as is the tiny Weymouth take out location I wish had seating! Anyway, the plates were very modern but not practical! They're flat, kinda small, square plates. Also the portions are small compared to other places I have been to. The food was mostly good and well prepared. I ate beef chow foon (dry) and peking raviolis. My brother ordered chow mein but it wasn't the kind we are used to so it was a fail lol. Overall. I wouldn't mind coming here again sometime. read more

My takeout order was actually very good and they even threw in an extra appetizer to make up for a longer than normal wait time. With any new restaurant, I think we need to give them some time to work out the kinks before jumping on them about things like longer than usual wait times and potential lapses in service. They have obviously done something right with their other three locations and I am sure with time this location will be on par with what we would all expect from a quality restaurant in this category. Don't jump on the "hater" bandwagon just yet...give them a chance and try to be a bit more patient as they work out their system and get more comfortable with how things run at this new location. I'm so glad Quan's Kitchen opened up in Hanover! This is my favorite sushi joint!! Plus they deliver! I live in Marshfield and they deliver all the way to my house! Also their chinese food is so good. Its not greasy, and it tastes fresh and home made. I can't stress enough how good their food is. Also the service is great! Chicken fingers, chicken ter. & white rice all taste yummy. Wicked expensive but once eat once in awhile. I don't like eating fortune cookies but I read them lol. They give you a lot!!! Sometimes it's hard to understand the hostess bcuz she barley spoke any English. We ordered Take out. The orange chicken, crab ran goons, and beef lo mein. All together it was pretty decent. Compare to the local competition it's 5 star since everywhere else in the general area that I've tried is terrible. I honestly don't know why there are so many negative reviews on the food here. I have been to Quan's four times now, gotten a different type of dish every time, and have found the food to be top-quality every single time. I have gotten sushi, lo mein, crab rangoon, dumplings and orange chicken, and I was not simply satisfied, I was impressed. The service was good too, as I had the manager come out to ask how my meal was two out of the four times. The interior of this place is the best in the area, hands down. The dining area is very decorative and the bar is modern and aesthetically pleasing as well. I'm from this area, and if I am going to dine out for Chinese food, I am going to Quan's over anywhere else. read more

Since Hung's closed in Marshfield we haven't been able to find a better-than-average-generic chinese place...until we saw Quan's featured on Phantom Gourmet. The food is clean tasting - not that greasy glop you get at other chinese places...but my biggest rave goes to the drinks! Stylish, sleek, and pretty good food. We came here for dinner on Christmas, admittedly not a good night for dining out. We were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful appearance of the main dining room and sushi bar. This address has had a variety of failed restaurants within it's walls prior to Quan's, but i think this one has the best shot at success. The prior restaurants were just oddball concepts that never got off the ground. Quan's knows what they are trying to do. We came in hoping to order Peking duck, or whole steamed sea bass, but those serious Chinatown type dishes are not on the menu. They lose a star for a couple of things, first, is timing. The entrees arrived about 3 minutes after the appetizers.We felt rushed. The second thing is the "dumbed down" completely Americanized menu choices. Unlike most diners here we have had the opportunity to travel for weeks through China, and this food is first American, and Chinese second. Maybe that's the formula for success in Massachusetts because they have other locations. When I moved here from the New York area I was surprised to see people eating bread in Chinese restaurants, and Crab Rangoon? Are you kidding? Made with Philadelphia cream cheese? That's never been within 10000 miles of China. I loathe American food palmed off as being Chinese. You can only get reasonably authentic Chinese food in and near Chinatown in Boston. That being said, the entrees we ordered were beautifully plated and delicious. We had a small sampling of Shushi which is obviously Japanese, and some steamed dim sum, or Peking Ravioli as it's known only in New England. Both were quite good. Another night we placed a take order for sushi for two as a late night dinner, and we were actually shocked at how good it was. One of the best versions we've had anywhere, including Japan. They have some Thai dishes on the menu as well, so this is more properly categorized as an "Asian" restaurant rather than a Chinese restaurant. Having a very strong competitor right down the street in Tsangs will keep them on their toes, but that's a good thing for all. With a few tweaks on learning to time the food to the table, and offering some more authentic options this place could really be quite a killer restaurant. Overall, very good, just needs a little polishing to be great. read more

I want to give Quan's more stars, but unfortunately key aspects of the dining experience were lacking. It took about 15 minutes to ever even see our waitress... we ordered immediately. First came the appetizers. We got fried scallops, egg rolls, and scallion pancakes. Not being a seafood eater, I will rely on my parents' evaluation- delicious! Perfectly fried and piping hot, as well as plentiful! They were quite pleasantly surprised with the amount served. I was told the egg rolls were good, though not the best ever... something about mushy filling. Now, on to those scallion pancakes. That evening I ate... no INHALED... the most disgusting, disturbing, depressing amount of these babies and I ENJOYED EVERY MOMENT!! So crispy, so oniony, so good. Timing really killed it for us at Quan's. Our entrees did not arrive at the same time. Beef dishes arrived well before (5-10 minutes) the accompanying rice and noodle dishes. This really negatively impacted the dining experience. All of the food from Quan's was very good, and I am hoping that the issues we experienced here were struggling beginnings. This is a review for a dining experience in December of 2011- I hope service and timing has improved and I would happily try it out to see if it has. read more

I work across from Quans in Hanover and get the sushi twice a week and it is fantastic.

Been here several times with my family and once with a group of friends. Every time the food was exceptionally fresh and cooked to perfection. The one exception is their General Gaus which just doesn't appeal to anyone in my family and we love General Gau's. The dining room is beautiful. It is nicely decorated and fairly new. The waitstaff is attentive and proces are reasonable. read more

I want to get this place 2 1/2 stars but... Not an option so they get the benefit of the doubt. Been here a couple of times for sushi. I'm not sure why we keep going back here. The food is okay but we continue to get horrible waitstaff service. We waited 10 minutes to get drinks and then asked to right our order down on the back of receipt paper (WTF?). Then, in order to pay we had to seek out the waiter ourselves so we could leave within a decent time span. We weren't asked how the food was or offered another drink since all of glasses were empty halfway through the meal. To top it off my daughter let a Bluetooth speaker there that she just received at Quan's for a birthday gift. We called back an hour later to inquire about it and we were given an attitude and told it was not there when the table was cleaned. Bullshit! Although it was her fault the staff should of made a better attempt to find it and at least act like they cared. This place is understaffed...always. Go to Tsangs!!! read more

The food here was excellent. We had the shrimp with vegetables, shrimp fried rice and General Gau's chicken. My husband thought the chicken was a bit chewy but that didn't stop him from eating it. Portions were substantial and of course, we had leftovers to take home. The wine list suited our needs. However, the service was slow and things were missing - like water and duck and soy sauce and other condiments for the table. The owner was making the rounds stopping at every table and acknowledging the shortcomings and promising to fix them. Its a new restaurant with a young staff and they're eager to get it right. read more

Tried Quan's Kitchen for the first time last night... we had a party of 11 for Sushi! I highly recommend it if ur in the area. I knew from the time we sat down the dinning would be different from our other Chinese place we often attend. 1. Had to ask for tea. 2. No sugar was offered. 3.Had to ask for refills on water. 4. The lady that took our order had a very difficult time speaking English or understanding us. She did not know the menu. 5. Food was not the best. Chicken tasted and felt as if it was boiled in water. No taste at all and kinda rubber texture. Vegetables were differently boiled in water or reheated in water...just plan bad. 6. The table behind us had to have their food reheated it arrived cold. 7. Then we got the bill it was 3x what we would have paid at our other favorite Chinese restaurant. We will not be coming back. read more
