We had a huge pine tree leaning heavily towards a bridge that needed to be cut down promptly. Everything went well with this company. The Arborist was very knowledgeable and friendly. Their office was quick to respond and schedule. Their workmen were respectful and SKILLED. They picked up and took away all the brush, leaving the surrounding area immaculate. Feel much better about these guys than I did with my previous review. Spoke with Tammy in the office and Tim in the field. After some back and forth (I missed their calls and emails) we got everything squared away. I particularly liked Tim's approach to tree and shrub care. He said that when he comes out to troubleshoot an issue, he looks at everything. He spotted an issue I didn't know was one. A terrible experience all around. A work order was submitted in July. I called reside with no response. I called my property management company requesting another proposal and finally received a call. A very lengthy call where the woman couldn't find the ticket, I repeated to tell her I wasn't submitting a proposal and she told me It would be 4 more weeks! A second order was put in for a broken branch, which she said they could get out sooner due to that. Forward to the work..... Let the "trim and shape" picture speak for itself. It's quite embarrassing. I literally could have done that for nothing or let my children do it. read more

They did a good job with the trees, and it was a fair price, but their communication is HORRIBLE. They never pick up the phone--they'll only call you back and I had to be very diligent about calling multiple times for them to even call me back. Also, for such a large company that I'm sure deals with bills that run into the thousands, it's incredibly strange that they don't let you pay online. They want you to pay with a check (who does that anymore?) OR if you can get them on the phone you can pay by credit card for a 3.5% fee, which is ridiculous. I will likely never use this company again just because they don't let customers pay online. Get intuit quickbooks or something, jeez. read more

If you were to check my other Yelp posts, you will find that, as a rule, I simply do not award 5 stars. This allows me to correctly recognize superlative service. Arborist Dave was knowledgeable and provided good advice. His quote was fair (as compared to two other arborist) and scheduler Jeannie worked with my schedule (they are busy.) The crew was extraordinarily professional and talented. Their results were splendid and, for all the limbs that were cut, there was remarkably little yard damage and, finally, they did a great job cleaning up. This sums it up: I tipped them, rated them 5 stars, and and still feel it is not enough to recognize their good work. Definitely recommend. read more

Quality Tree Care Inc. just completed tree service at my residence. The work was very complete, conducted in a very professional manner, and all scrap tree materials, limbs, twigs, and leaves. However, the most impressive aspect of the tree service was the price, $1200 for trimming 6 trees (extensive trimming of trees that required climbing) and removal of three (3) twenty foot tall Birch trees including grinding the stump. As well, the entire crew donned the correct personnel protective equipment while over-head work was being done, and the crew wore protective eye protection while in and around flying eye debris. That may, or may not be important to you; however, in NOVA there are very few local companies that provide OSHA 29 CFR 1910 PPE for their Latin American employees. So, if you are looking for a tree service company, don't hesitate to contact Quality Tree Service in business for over 20 years. This is a real review completed by a real costumer. read more

Quality Tree Care was recommended on our neighborhood listserv. I was excited to try to begin working with them after also reading their ratings online. I can't speak to the type of work they do, it seems stellar - for tree removal based on other comments. I started calling them on this Tuesday morning. No call back. Called again on Wednesday this week. I received a call back, but when I called within 15 minutes no one was there. Thursday - another message left for them. Today Friday - I received a message at 4:55. So 4 calls to them an 2 call backs from them. Also, I should share that their message states -- they are so busy it may take 24 - 48 hours to call you back. 5:15 Today: Me: Hi this is ----. I've been calling you this week to arrange an estimate. Her: We left you messages. Me: After 4 calls I'm concerned that you don't want my business Her: You're right, We're not the right company for you -- AND SHE HUNG UP. Please, folks, consider whether this is the type of customer relations you want with service partners. Quality may be very good, but you're taking on a whole lot of attitude from the office staff. Also, now that I've gone back to look at their reviews I note that they aren't good at hedge and bush trimming, but are expert in large tree removal. Our job was a hedge trim and landscape tree trimming so the office was right they weren't going to be the right company. read more

I am so pleased with what a smooth, stress-free, and affordable experience this was! A large oak close to the house died this spring so the entire tree had to be cut down. We also decided to get a small bit of trimming done and a separate dead large branch removed as well. I interviewed 4 tree companies. For Quality Tree Care, the owner, Dave, came out for the initial quote. He was super friendly and unlike a couple other companies, I felt no pressure to proceed with any work. He offered a winter rate to do the work after their other work starts to slow down. With the winter rate, Quality Tree Care's quote was almost HALF of the other 3 companies. Luckily, they came highly recommended to us so it was easy decision. A few points of the quality of the work and service: - Friendly customer service, quick to schedule (once their regular work slowed down to start scheduling the winter work). - Crew of 4 arrived on time and took no time getting started, carefully clearing away furniture I forgot to move out of the area. - Crew and foreman were friendly and informative. I don't know regulations for this work, but it appeared to me that they were very methodical and conscious of safety. - We decided to keep all of the wood and they carefully stacked the wood. I had expected just a pile of tree trunk pieces so I was very surprised to see how much effort they put into stacking. - The cleanup of the job left our yard nicer than it was when they arrived. - Next day, another employee came out to grind the stump. Terrific experience! We expected a real mess having a huge section of a tree removed in close proximity to a fence, dogwood trees, and a vegetable garden. Five really strong and talented men showed up to do the job. They were real professionals and a pleasure to watch. No damage was done to anything in the way, and after they left you would never know work had been done. They even vacuumed up the sawdust on the lawn! We'll use this company again. read more

The best tree care people ever! We have used them repeatedly and they never fail to do amazing work. This morning they took down a huge dead oak tree. Took them less than three hours, there were five in the crew, and by the time they left, you would never know they had been here at all, except for the missing tree. They took down two HUGE Leland Cypress trees that were dying. Difficult access between my house and neighbors house, A/C units and fences. They did an outstanding job! They had 5 men. I hired this company to spray my trees last spring. I was satisfied with the service. I always either paid them on the spot or by return mail. But it ends there. I asked for shrub and tree trimming and they did a bad job on the bushes and ruined two large Cryptomeria by cutting off the bottom branches at the trunk when I specifically asked the foreman to just make sure the bottom branches did not hit the ground. The day they came out they said they were tired and hot. Only one person understood English. When I noticed what they did to the trees it was too late. I called Jeannie and David, her husband. They were out of town for a funeral. I emailed her with the pictures and my objections. I told her they did not understand English as they did not do anything correctly. Jeannie and then her husband proceeded to chastise me implying that I didn't like immigrants and that they were "college-educated legal citizens." I then asked what was to be done for my trees; they wanted to send them back and I refused. A while later Jeannie Whitt send me an email threatening me that if I didn't pay her $508.20 that they would turn me over to a collection agency and that the work was done properly. This amounted to extortion. I have an exemplary credit report and I could not believe that they wouldn't even address my concerns and I told them they must have insurance and they should report the damage their people did. My yard trimming was not professional-looking in the least, and most importantly they ruined two large cryptomeria. They took unwarranted offense when I pointed out that the people they sent out did not understand English regardless of their citizenship. Bottom line they are ok for cutting down a tree and spraying. It ends there. read more

Had them trim and shape two trees that were growing out of control. Very pleased. The trees look so shapely and nice. Their artwork is impressive. You can tell they do not do a rush job. Second, they are friendly. Third, they work with your schedule. Fourth, they showed up right in the time frame they said they would. And fifth, but most importantly, they are affordable!
