(Similar to Korean style gel if you're familiar with it). I have my own local gal I have back home but if this place was in SoCal... I t'd give so many places a run for their money!! Owner (or host?) was so professional, kind and wonderful and sets the tone. The inside of the salon is not only beautiful and clean but a bonus with its high ceilings. And most importantly, a great selection of quality color and service available. We did a walk in on a Wednesday afternoon with no appointment and the three of us were able to get sat immediately after choosing our colors. I'm in my short nail era and my gal definitely delivered. My mani feels just as, if not stronger and just as thin as I get done back at home + the color work on my pedi is definitely one of the best I've received! I called beforehand to make an appointment. Once I arrived, the salon was empty with only the employees. The employees were kind towards me, however, the man who performed my pedicure did not understand me or did he speak English. I had to wait until the lady who did my manicure was available which was a hit and miss. The man would point at the mani and pedi booklet to indicate that I needed to choose quickly. I couldn't choose quickly because they had a lot of options and I wasn't given any time as I was rushed. The lady rushed me to choose the mani that I was interested in. I ended up choosing up the cheapest option. I told both individuals that I wasn't interested in hot stones for medical reasons. Both the man and the lady begged me to get hot stones and even said that hot stones was very good and relaxing. I get that, but for medical reasons I am not going to the hospital over hot stones and pay a hefty medical bill because of them. I told them my reasons and yet was still begged to get them for an additional cost. I chose my nail polish that I wanted and the lady who served me immediately told me no that I couldn't choose that. She asked me to choose another color. I chose another color then the color that I chose wasn't something that they had used before and I asked if I was sure that I liked the color. I told her that I was sure since she was adamant that I couldn't choose the color that I initially wanted. She asked me again if I was sure. I told her yes, then she opened the color, applied it to my toenail and fingernails. After, she applied it, she asked for a third time if I was sure as she cannot reverse the process of applying. I told her yes. That crap was very annoying her asking me several times if I was sure and not allowing me, the paying customer to choose the initial color, but yet having to settle for a secondary color. Another thing that pissed me off was that I brought a picture in for her to match. This lady gave me a hard time it was like pulling teeth to get her to match the picture that I wanted. She told me that she would charge me $100 additional on top of the color for the special look which was utterly ridiculous. She would charge me for all 10 fingers. For a basic color, acrylic nails, this basic job cost me $139. I felt like it was a rip off. Next time, I am not going to a nail salon, but will be buying the glue on nails from HEB. The nails that I got at this salon didn't even last 2 months like how they last at Bella Nails that I used to go to in Pearland, TX before I moved to the area. They did an okay job, but the glue on nails would have looked better. Additionally, I did not care for hearing children play and scream while I was trying to have a relaxing time at this salon. They had their children out on the floor yelling and talking loudly. I cannot enjoy my time getting my nails done being around children that just ruins the mood for me. I won't be back and recommending them to anyone.

I got a pedicure and manicure during my lunch break at work which usually takes an hour and 15 maybe. I had an hour and a half to burn before I had somewhere I needed to be. My pedicure came out great. I wish I remembered her name. But the name I do remember is Kim. I showed her a picture of a short clean nail as a reference of what I wanted for my mani length and shape. She gave me long, obtuse, thick, lumpy nails that a child could've done. I mean I'm telling you it is the worst nails I have ever had in my life or seen in my life. I don't like to complain so I just kept telling her that I wanted them shorter and referring to the photo. After four times of showing her the length and her still not getting them to the shortness I wanted/needed. I just said fine because I was already at the two hour mark on my nails. I checked out and explained to the register that I really did not like my hands but I had no time to fix them and I live far away so they gave me a small discount... I drove away and as soon as the sunlight hit my nails in the car I knew I had to stop what I was doing turn around and go back. I explained that these nails were not worth the $180 for manicure and pedicure that I had paid and they simply needed to be taken off or redone by someone else. Jennifer ended up taking care of my nails and did a great job, but wow if you get Kim run! While I was getting my nails fixed there was another lady getting her nails done by Kim and she had the same complaint about shape and length and I already knew what was going to happen. Moral of the story, I spent about three hours getting my nails done today and I will never cheat on Milano nail Spa in the Heights ever again.

I love having a favorite tech just like anyone else, but sometimes you need an appointment when you need an appointment! Whether I book with someone specifically or come in without requesting a particular person, I can pretty confidently expect my nails to be up to my standards when I leave. They also have the cutest smaller pedicure chairs for little ones, which is a huge plus for us because my toddler LOVES accompanying me. It makes our nail days something she can actually participate in instead of just sitting around waiting on me. My one little complaint and something I find myself having to repeat is PLEASE let me keep my real nails!
