I can't keep track of the nail tech that I've had so far but today I had Pam. Every nail tech that I've had has been amazing and has given the best service ever. The salon is always clean and organized, and they have a really good system to make sure that customers are taken care of promptly and efficiently. The only time I've ever had to actually wait for service was on Super Bowl when they had some text call out, but it wasn't a big deal because I don't watch football and had nothing but time that day The price is reasonable, so no complaints there. I'm always a little skeptical when trying a new nail salon. Once you've had a place you love, it's hard to replace it. Since moving to this side of town, I hadn't found my spot yet... but Malibu Nail Lounge might have just solved that problem. I actually discovered this salon a couple weeks ago when I brought my daughter Sky in for her nails. She was really happy with the results, so I decided to come back and try it myself. The experience started off strong the moment I walked in. I was greeted right away and asked to check in using the computer at the front desk. It printed my name ticket, they wrote down my services, and directed me to choose my nail color. The process felt organized and professional. I barely sat down before they called me back. I started with the Malibu Day Out pedicure, and King took care of my service. She was incredibly friendly and took her time, especially with my cuticles. Nothing felt rushed, which I really appreciate when I'm paying to relax. The massage chair, hot stones, and leg massage were exactly what I needed. I even got to sit back and read my book for book club while enjoying the service -- which made the whole experience feel extra relaxing. Another nice touch: complimentary drinks. During my pedicure I had a Bahama Mama, and when I moved over to the manicure side I switched to a mimosa. For my manicure, Jay took over and did a great job. I originally planned on getting a bright orange color, but at the last minute I changed my mind and went with a soft pastel lavender. I ended up matching my nails and toes, and I love how they turned out. The only small thing I noticed was that I thought the manicure might include a hand massage or wax treatment, but it wasn't offered. That said, by the time we finished I was ready to go and very happy with the final result. One thing I learned at checkout that teachers will appreciate: they offer a 10% teacher discount on Wednesdays. I happened to visit on Thursday, but when I mentioned it was my first time and I didn't know about the promotion, they still gave me 5% off, which I thought was really thoughtful customer service. I may just have bad luck but I have never seen such a bad job for a simple express manicure. I came home to remove polish and clean up cuticles . Christy did not stop talking the entire time about religious things and said "I love you" about 30 times to me. It was the strangest experience. This is simply not the place for this . STAY AWAY!! They intentionally hurt me! I made a comment to the owner that the nail tech he recommended the previous visit, while my regular nail tech was out, didn't listen to my concerns and they were poorly done that I had to return a week later to have them fixed. He was angry and sent me to his pedicure tech that took the pumice block and scrubbed the top of my foot and cut my nail causing an ingrown. I told her it hurt and she laughed at me. When I got home I had scratch marks from the file on the top of my foot. BEWARE! Hopefully I don't get an infection! And you can see her terrible paint job. There is gel polish on my cuticles. I went in for a basic pedicure and asked for a flower on each foot, I did not think that would be so hard. I've been getting pedicures for years and flowers are basic!!! I guess not! I got the "on the got" pedicure which was $35.00, and 2 horrible flowers with regular polish, which looks like a 1st grader did it. So each flower was $5.00, total $45.00 PLUS tip!!! I waited a month after my service to post my review to make sure the quality of my pedicure held up and all I can say is I was so impressed by the overall cleanliness quality of my service!! I called and made an appointment last minute on a Saturday. They fit me in and took me back right on time for my appointment. I requested a specific OPI color and they gladly went and found it for me. The salon was very clean and high class. The pedicure bowls were all lined and very sanitary. The nail tech Emily was amazing!! I had the best gel pedicure I have ever had!! She was meticulous and so good!! a month later it looks like I just had my toes done and I don't even understand how that is possible! typically I don't go with gel because it lifts very fast and pops off due to a low quality pedicure but a month later it is still immaculate and shiny like I just had it done. I got red almond shaped nails and white toenails and not only did they look beautiful but Hannah and Bee were so kind to me as well. I took my sister-in-law in to have her nails done we had requested the nail to be done with a design called a cat's eye. I very unique technique. It reminds me of an onyx star in appearance. When her nails were completed they looked just glittered. We went in to have the nail redone and they took her back no problem. Oh, no... the second time there was just more glitter. There was not a distinnct line. So, I asked for a refund. The individual handeling the issue played it off that the nail was too short. I stated it was poor technique. That I will gladly write a review. We asked for a refund. They stated, they do not do refunds. I spent 298.00 on nails and pedicures. They ended up taking her back to do the nails correct. My issue is my time. They took more of my time and they were unwilling to give the refund and finally, the blaten lie to my face that it was because the nail was too short.
