Sadly, my Pedi experience was less than okay. The shellac came off in 4-5 days which was fixed with a second visit. But sadly my toenails looked messy and they were poorly cut and filed so fixing the shellac only bought me 2-3 more days.

It was my first time getting my nails done in about a year. To start on a positive note, the gentleman who did my pedicure initially was wonderful, very thorough, kind, and attentive. I will be going back just to tip him. He shaped my toes exactly how I asked, and I really appreciated his care. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill after that when a new guy came to finish the pedicure. When my toenails were painted, there was polish left on my skin and the cleanup was not finished. I didn't complain at the time because I just wanted to get through the appointment, but I was surprised it was considered complete. I was charged $60 for the pedicure. The biggest issue came when I moved on to getting a full set of acrylic nails. I was very clear from the beginning that I wanted short & square acrylics (powder, not shellac like he was insisting, yes I know refills are easier with shellac but I don't usually make it for refills). Black was my first color of choice. He told me that that was not a good choice so I reverted back to my normal color of choice, nude. He informed me that was also a bad choice, no problem, I chose a different nude color. Despite calmly repeating many times I wanted short and square nails, the nail tech continuously insisted I needed them longer and argued with me about my choice. I explained multiple times that I'm a bartender, I break long nails, and I simply do not want length, but my preference was not respected. The back-and-forth went on long enough that other customers were watching, which was embarrassing and uncomfortable. I kid you not I had to insist on short nails over and over and over again. Eventually I asked for the nails to be removed because I didn't want to keep arguing. Even then the conversation continued while I was trying to at least pay for my pedicure and leave. I ended up crying out of frustration and embarrassment which has never happened to me at a nail salon before. After leaving I noticed how messy my toes still were. When I contacted the salon about a partial refund, I was initially told one thing and then later told something different. I was asked to come back for a partial refund of $15, but at that point I was already embarrassed for having to repeat myself, the nail tech was making fun of me for chewing my nails, and clearly I wasn't going to get what I wanted, short square nails. Now short on time and the only day I have off before Christmas & going out of town, I went to another salon immediately after, where they removed the nails, did exactly what I asked for without any pushback, and even offered to fix my toes for free because of the condition they were in. That's when Pepsi offered me $30 back like I had originally asked for, at this point I'm upset, inconvenienced, and stretched for time. I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews, but I feel it's important to say this, clients should not have to argue repeatedly to get what they ask for, especially for a paid service. Clear communication, respecting customer preferences, and finishing services properly are essential. I hope this feedback helps the salon improve for future clients.

From the time I stepped in the door, their Manager (Duke) was extremely welcoming and helpful. I wanted to try something new and he shared all options and pricing with me, and even made up a nail comparing two similar polishes so I could make sure I got exactly what I wanted. Seven was the nail technician that I was assigned to, and he was WONDERFUL! Very detail oriented. He had a very quiet and kind demeanor as well which made the experience very enjoyable. I will absolutely be coming back and recommending Be May in the future.

Not surprisingly, he didn't & began w/o even asking me. He immediately started cutting them short & saying "cut the tip so just your natural nail". He couldn't understand that's not what I wanted. Then wanted to charge me to put tips on the nails he cut. I declined. The attempt to make them even was lopsided at best. None of my nails were compared to any other for length, so they are crooked & random lengths. Still WAY TOO SHORT. When I tried to explain, BEFORE he started with the drummer that I didn't want my other nails removed, I just wanted a refill, I was told that they don't do that. Only removals & "always fresh for you, no fungus". I kept trying to explain, but the woman came over & told me. "You don't like, you pay $40 & leave" I wasn't going to pay & then have to go elsewhere to have them fixed & finished. I felt stuck, so I let him finish. I did pay & even tip, BUT this will be my last time there. Language barrier at a nail salon is nothing new. I just feel like this particular place uses it to get away w/ bad business practices & cheating customers.
