QT Nails & Spa is one of the best nail salons in McHenry. Originally I started going because they were open on Sundays which was rare, and I have been going faithfully for over 6 years now. All of the staff is amazing, they're all so kind and skilled at what they do. Each person has their own skill set so it might take you a few times to figure out who can help you the best, but you will definitely leave very happy with your nails. Everyone is very willing to help each other, you will often see the nail techs rotating stations on the busy days to help each other out and it shows how much they care about their customers, they're all trying to make sure everyone is getting a good service. They truly do care that the customers are happy, if you're not satisfied with something or if something breaks, you should always speak up or return to get it fixed, they are always willing to fix something to make sure you're happy. They are all human though and sometimes the salon can get busy but they try to take walk ins as much as possible, and even if it's busy, they at least try to get your feet soaking or your hands wrapped and let you know they'll be with you soon. Dana, the owner, is so talented at what she does, her designs are amazing. If you find a picture of something that you want, you can bring it in and show it to your nail tech and they'll do their best to recreate it for you, and if they can't personally do the design, they'll have another tech come and help just to make sure you get the design that you want. Dana and her sister Queen are constantly keeping up with social media to follow all of the latest trends for nail art and always buying new supplies to make sure they can do the newest designs. They can free style designs on your nails, they've got foils and stickers, a ton of different glitter and cat eye options, air brushing techniques and they'll even mix different elements to get you the perfect color. The color selection is INSANE, they have so much to choose from for no chip and dip, you're instantly provided numerous books of color to choose from and then the techs will get the bottles for you so you don't have to search along the walls. Pedicures here are also top notch, they recently got all new chairs for the pedicure area, including themed chairs for kids. The new chairs have so many massage options and a heat option. They've recently added new pedicure packages so that customers can have a spa-like experience for their feet. All of the prices per packages are listed right away so there's no secret charges which is super important. You're presented with a list of all the packages and allowed to choose, and even after choosing your package, you're then given multiple scents to choose from to make sure you're getting the best experience. QT Nails & Spa is very active on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube. They're always posting videos to showcase the unique nails that customers are requesting to provide inspiration for others. Poor customer service. Sat there for 39 minutes getting a manicure. Did not have one word spoken to me directly, not one! Had to listen to owners kids argue and try to help customers. Asked for a design and was told I didn't need any!! WTH? read more

Not good and not going back I had a manicure and pedicure as soon as you sit down, they hand you which looks like a menu for a restaurant and they want to know what you wanna do. All I wanted was a manicure pedicure that's it so we are done with the pedicure we're gonna do the manicure. I think she could've done better the nail polish put on was too thick so we're all done. She asked for $78 and I had a coupon for 10% of and right away the owner said no that expired and she went on and on I don't understand what they're saying because they speak broken English, but you really couldn't honor a seven dollar coupon? I don't need to go back to your place and on top of that I didn't leave a tip and I really feel good about it. The owner/ manager she needs to keep out of everybody's conversation. Made an appointment a month in advance. Was there on time for my appointment and it still took an hour and 20 min for my nails to be done because they had me sitting for 45 minutes soaking. Would have walked out if they didn't put foils on my fingers already. Nails don't look anything special. Other guests walked out as well because they were sitting for 30+ minutes. read more

I have been going to QT nails for quite some time now, I always asked for Kathy, and she did a terrific job. A few weeks ago, I booked an appointment with Kathy for a redo and dip. When I arrived apparently on the books it showed me as having an appointment for acrylics and a pedicure. After I sat down the owner in front of everyone in the salon very sarcastically yelled to Kathy, I thought you were doing acrylics and a pedicure!!! The technician said no there was a misunderstanding. The owner was literally bullying her, which is totally unacceptable. Then after bullying Kathy the manager came up to me and put her card on the table and said next time call this number. I was appalled that she talked to me like that. As for a next time there will not be a next time. As a result of the actions of the manager they have lost a loyal customer as well as others I told. read more

My mom and I decided to try this place for pedicures. Neither of us enjoyed the experience. Both of our techs didn't listen to what we wanted. Mine wouldn't even look at me or speak to me. We both left with way too short nails and pain from them digging in the sides of our nails with sharp tools. Definitely won't be back. read more

Really disappointed, I did dip nails and a pedicure and it did not last even 2 days. For paying over $80 I thought they'd take their time and properly do my nails and toes. It was rushed and very unfair. My honeymoon was ruined and it's very upsetting. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else and they can fix this issue. read more

My nails broke off after three days after I got them done. The lady was rude and put the electric nail filler on my finger and it left a mark. She didn't even apologize. After that she up charged me for my nails that she didn't even get correct. They were crooked and uneven. They had me switching nails techs constantly. 0/10!! It takes me ALOT to give a bad review.....having said that I have been going to this Nail Salon for over 2 years and it has gotten progressively worse. They only speak to each other in their language which I think is incredibly rude to do consistently on top of being rough and unfriendly. I get that you speak it once in awhile ok but not the WHOLE time and ignore you and when you try to make small talk they don't respond kindly. I do not feel welcomed at all and they are rude and borderline mean. The quality has gone down the drain as well, my Nails chip and crumble easily. I have never had a hand massage or any lotion even after I asked about it! Would it kill them to greet me when I come in? Hey a smile goes a long way!! After all I am PAYING you and TIPPING you ALOT for this treatment. Maybe they have enough clients now and do not need anyones business? well it was slow today and many times in there. The other women were looking at each other like WTF is going on. I do not recommend this place.
