I was pretty disappointed with the cleanliness of this salon. The price was right and the availability was good but that's where the positives stopped. The nail polish bottle I picked from the wall was sticky (not from nail polish; some mysterious ick). The pedicure chair was ripped and broken. The arm rest wouldn't raise up, so i had a very difficult time getting into the chair and had to straddle over the bowl. Getting out of the chair again was difficult and I smudged my polish. When I asked for it to be fixed I was ignored. I also asked if I could stay in the chair to dry and was told no. The cleanliness again was in question when I realized the disposable flip flops that were put on my feet were not new. They were two different colors and already stretched and bent. Pretty disappointed and I won't be going back. read more

Terrible and dirty shop I took my 8 year old to have her nails polish and they charged me $50!!! Insane I see the shop empty do they must be hurting for clients and charging crazy outrageous prices to walk in clients. Do not go here they rip you off I do not recommend Bad business read more

Visited for the first time today and i loved my nail tech - she was friendly, funny and did a great job and was fast too. My main complaint was the cleanliness of the place as well as the products used. The chairs were all ripped up, the tech had a towel down that was not new for me and was dirty. The nail powder had big chunks in it and the acetone was not fresh. The price was competitive with other salons that offer clean surroundings, tools and product. i wish i could say that i would go back but the cleanliness factor has me wanting to leave while i was there. read more

I used to come here all the time growing up with different management. It's been years since I've been back but went back over the holidays for a dip set and a pedicure. First, I called ahead and they were able to take my mom and I for same day appointments. When we arrived, we didn't have to wait too long after we choose our colors which was great. We both opted for the deluxe pedicure which is a few dollars more than their standard and we're both very pleased. Toes looked great and great service! My five stars is really for my dip set. My manicurist was so wonderful! He was gentle with my cuticles and did a great job with my dip set. Plus normally I don't get a massage with dip and they still do it here! Reasonably priced as well. I will be back next time I'm in town! read more

I like to take my friend here for pedis as a treat. She seems to enjoy the ladies that do the pedis here. They're always quite nice and let me sit with her while she's getting work done. She really likes the attention paid to relaxing her feet/lower legs and the hot towels. It seems like a really popular place and we are always happy they can find openings for us. They've never hurt her feet once and they have a great selection of shellacs. Will always be back. read more

Came here for pedicure and left relaxed and satisfied. My go to salon for acrylics and waxing Kim is attentive to detail and always gives me what I want! I brought my 48 year old son fir his first pedicure. What a disaster! I brought him for a wonderful experience. Far from it. The tech did not know what to do or how to do her job. I'm not sure if she was trained right or she did not care. $70.00 apiece and I was embarrassed for my son. read more

This is the best nail salon I've ever gone to. Kim is wonderful and Dore and Ras do the best dip manicures! Everyone is so nice here. I've been going here every 3-4 weeks since January of 2022 and I've never had a bad experience. My nails look fantastic and last until the next manicure without chipping or cracking. They're equally good at doing simple manicures and more complicated designs. Highly recommend! read more

Went for a pedi with a friend last Saturday (01/12/19). I was chatting with my friend while the tech was working on my toes, and let me tell you, my feet are NOT bad, I do my own pedis at home so it wasn't much to do for her. She trimmed my toe nails all crooked! Took me like two months to get them perfectly straight and she nipped them with cuticle nippers! I thought 'ok, maybe she will file them' ... no she didn't! She just filed the free edge, didn't even clean it and put dark nail polish over all that mess that was still dangling from the filing ! I am so upset! And I tipped her 20% of the cost! I won't be coming back. I understand feet are not as 'important' and visible as hands but still... this was unacceptable read more

I made an appointment to get a no chip pedicure. I did not get what I asked for. I wasnt mad but I wanted to be sure they knew I wasn't going to pay for a no chip when I got a regular pedicure. I was disappointed when all the workers began blaming me and talking about it being my fault right in front of me. That was very rude. I won't be back and I will never recommend them to anyone I know. read more

I just moved to the area and this place is 10 minutes from my home, so I decided to give it a shot. The very first thing I noticed was how dirty it is. My technician's station looked like it had never been wiped down. Same for the products and materials she used. They seem to re-use materials, which I know is common when it comes to things such as nail files, but considering how unclean everything else looked, it made me uneasy. The technician did a half ass job with my nails. She didn't even cover the entire nail with polish, or bothered to clean up the area around my nail where she'd gotten polish. Needless to say, I won't be visiting this place again. read more

****UPDATE***** As of April of 2018, I no longer use Foxxy Nails. Since Eric and Janelle sold the business and moved to Texas, the quality and cleanliness @ Foxxy have become substandard. I've moved to Evolution Nail Spa in Round Lake. Discovered Foxxy Nails after a falling out with my previous nail salon in McHenry (over a petty $10 polish change). I don't go just anywhere when it comes to my little "luxuries" in life so, when I find a place that I absolutely love, I remain loyal to that business. I will always recommend friends and/or family to that business based upon my own personal experiences. The same loyalty applies with my service provider within that business. I will make my appointments specifically around Vicky's schedule because we have established a great relationship. She does fantastic work (I look forward to her leg/foot/hand massages). She let's me complain about my day or celebrates my successes with me. It's like a mani/pedi with a side of therapy. Employees at Foxxy Nails are polite and attentive when customers arrive. Customers are greeted and their needs are addressed immediately. Staff and guests are welcoming. Conversations are free flowing (and ALWAYS IN ENGLISH). You almost forget you're getting a service because you feel like you're with family and friends. My favorite services are the no chip manicure and the OPI pedicure. Services are an excellent value and certainly competitive to the area. Considering there is a nail salon just about every 10 feet, the best way to maintain relevancy and to stand out in this market, is with customer service. Eric, Janelle, Vicky, Mai and the rest of the team are skilled at what they do and they each focus on promoting a relaxing environment where customers can go to be pampered. I anxiously await my bi-weekly nail appointments. Plus, they will let me watch Selena as many times as I want so that's a bonus! read more

This place is a favorite of mine. I've tried other nail salons but I always leave those places thinking I should have gone to Foxxy instead. I guess you could say that I always leave this place feeling foxy! I disagree with the reviewer that said this place was a dump or that there are kids toys everywhere. I have been coming here since 2007 and never experienced this. It's true that the owners bring their kids every now and then, but the kids are so well behaved that I'm taking notes on how I can get this kind of obedience with my own kids! Sometimes I'm here 15 minutes before I even realize the kids are here! Also, this business makes regular updates, most recently the lights and manicure stations. One last thing worth noting is that the bickering a reviewer commented on is usually pretty hilarious conversation that is bound to take place when you are amongst one dude and 10 girls - not necessarily husband/wife stuff, and I always feel like a part of the family and not like an awkward observer of it all. I recommend you get your nails done here and see for yourself. What's the worst that could happen? There is a thing called nail polish remover! read more

In efforts of finding a new nail spot, tried this place and big mistake. I requested a no chip gel manicure, not once did he ask if I wanted them trimmed, which I did never asked me how thick I wanted the tip, never evened out each finger to make sure they were consistently even. Some nails were uneven and didn't match. Before I knew I looked up and he was done. I would of requested to fix but didn't have time, also they reuse their tools, I noticed them cleaning them and putting them away. read more

I have been coming here since it has opened. It is family owned by a husband and wife. I know others my not like it because they want to relax but their kids are at the salon on occasion. So yes, there will be some toys and it maybe loud sometimes. They have done a great job with keeping the salon up to date. They have put new light fixtures in by the pedicure chairs. I have tried other salons just because the price for a no chip manicure is $40. Other places use low quality polish. So in other words I keep going back to Foxxy Nail Spa. Yes it maybe expensive but it is a good quality. My favorite gel polish is called Gelish. I have never had any complaints about the service. Eric and Janelle are very friendly. I will keep going back. Oh, and before I forget my gel manicure lasts about 3 weeks. And yes I do work, sometimes having to wash dishes. I am a preschool teacher that teaches year round. read more

I just moved into the area and I stopped at Foxxy Nails after work to get my dip polish taken off, it had been 3 weeks and I just wanted fresh nails. While I was there, a woman was sitting getting her nails done and overheard me saying I was new to the area, she immediately told me that Foxxy Nails is the best salon she's ever been to and I have to try them out. I decided to listen & get a no chip manicure. The guy doing my nails was Minh, he was amazing!!! He showed me the colors and I was blown away by the selection they had! It was so hard for me to choose because I've never had so many options. He did a fantastic job on my nails, took his time, asked me my preferences, and we had great conversation throughout! I will definitely be back to Foxxy and i will always request Minh as my tech! read more

I love getting pedicures, but they always make me just a little uncomfortable. Everyone was very nice, although rather soft spoken so it was difficult for me to hear. But otherwise, very nice. I was a walk in, but didn't have to wait more then 2-3 minutes. However. I went in recently as I needed a pedicure (I was 'suffering from lots of chips) so, I went in get in really quickly. The person doing the pedicure was very pleasant and quick, maybe too quick. The sides of my large toe is inflamed and really painful. I'm sure it will get better, but I'm not pleased. It really hurts. (No, I didn't hit it into anything, it was cut with the clippers. Ouch.) read more

Staff is very nice - Trish the owner is wonderful (She did not assist me). Although, It took three hours to get my pedi and no chip mani. Not including the time I waited because I did not have an appt. I left with polish all over my cuticles, even after I asked for it to be removed as she was doing my nails. My thumb looks chewed up from the cuticle cutter. The woman also did not clean under my nails after my mani so my nails were essentially stuck to the underneath of the nail (If you get no chip you know how uncomfortable this is). If going here I would absolutely make an appt with Trish. read more

Today was my first time at Foxxy Nail Spa. I went in undecided what to exactly get and ended up asking for a full set, no chip. Right when she started working on my nails (I believe her name is Kim) I told her I did not want my nails thick and long. Throughout the process, my nails seemed okay, however, when she was done I saw they were very thick for my taste. No base coat was used either. The length is okay, but the tips are too wide and thick; I have thin, long fingers and I personally think the end result looks unattractive. It was overly priced as well. My friend who got a regular manicure was also disappointed. Her nail polish came off!!! See pictures. Unfortunately, we will not be returning to Foxxy Nail Spa and do not recommend. read more

I have been going to this salon for over five years. Since it opened as I live very close by. When it opened it was very nice. But now every time I go I promise myself never again. It is a dump. Janelle is the only tech worth going to. She is the owner. She brings her son most of the time. He destroys the place. Toys everywhere. Food everywhere it is not professional. A salon should be a place for relaxing. This place is like a daycare center. They are also overpriced. I just recently tried the no chip and it complete came off two fingers in two days and the rest chipped. I tried it again. Same thing. Don't go there if u can help it. If you must only get Janelle. Even then you will prob have to listen to her constant bickering with her husband, another tech, Eric. It is pretty awkward. read more

I've been going here for several months and it is now the only place I will go. My daughter goes other places and always complains about her nails. They are on the higher end of the price scale, but well worth it! No chip is definitely worth the extra cost. I went 5 weeks with no chip and it still looked pretty good. I was washing my hands a lot, cleaning with harsher chemicals, and painting/remodeling a house during those 5 weeks. Latex paint came right off the nails with no damage to the polish. I don't recommend going that long without a fill because the grow out part looks awful, but the polish was still going strong. If it weren't for the grow out, I probably could have gone a lot longer with the no chip polish. They also do a great job with eyebrow waxing and pedicures. Update: this is the only place I will go to now. The staff are all friendly, which is a reflection of the owners, and do a great job. I decided to try nail art for an awareness month campaign and my nails turned out beautifully! read more

I am new to this area and my friend referred me to Foxxy Nail Spa. I am so happy that she did. They are slightly higher priced than the nail place that I previously went to but not by much. Samay gave me a great pedicure, she spend a lot of time on my feet and it shows. My feet look and feel amazing. Samay talked me into a manicure also, so glad she did. Came here on a Saturday afternoon and it was busy but we only waited a few minutes for a pedicure. They had a lot of staff working and the place was busy which is always a good sign. They didn't offer me anything to drink which I was kind of bummed about. They also didn't have more than one option of what type of service you would like included. The lady who did my mani/pedi was very nice and felt great. I usually like more to my mani/pedi experience and I just didn't get that here. The price for both was only $40.00 so that was a really good deal. So here's my thinking..If you want a basic mani/pedi with someone that does a great job this place will be perfect for you. If you want more to your mani/pedi then you may want to consider going someplace else. read more
