I used to go to this nail salon religiously. The women working there are super nice, very clean and provided a back massage after your received your manicure/pedicure. It was wonderful. (Five Star) But then they had some turn over, and I found it very difficult to get into Michelle or Julie. (Best technicians) and then my last favorite technician left. When I started going I was getting the kids right out of beauty school, and it was taking a very long time with a mediocre job... or the were rushing through the massage parts, not really doing anything. So hence the reason I'm raking it as 3 stars. If you can get Julie or Michelle, go. If not, pass. read more

I called around 2pm the afternoon of Grayslake's prom night... Yikes. They were booked with appointments all day but they were able to fit my goddaughter in for mani pedi. First impressions: very clean! The decor is very nice and not outdated. It's overall a relaxing atmosphere which I love! There's coffee, water, and kettle chips. The staff is professional and friendly. I also noticed they remember regular customers' names. That's always a plus in my book. I tried Queen's Nail on a whim while driving by. At 11 am on a Tuesday they were full but had time to fit me in for a regular mani right away. I lucked out and had Trisha for my technician. She asked if I wanted my nails cut down, how I wanted them shaped, and how well my polish typically stays on. She noticed that my hands are very soft and knew that this would mean my cuticles tend to bleed easy and that my polish may not last as long. I was surprised she could tell this from my hands but I completely believe it's true. In fact, Trisha is the only person that didn't overtrim my cuticles and make them bleed in recent months. Her filing was also gentle, but quick. I liked that she seemed to take some simple extra steps to help my polish stay on longer. She was able to paint them really well (good coverage, smooth, shiny) and also efficiently. I loved that they ask if you want a quick shoulder massage while you're drying too. I keep ending up at places that take an hour for a simple mani or just 10 minutes. I'm glad I found Queen's Nail because I feel the service time was just right and was exactly what I was looking for, a good shaping and professional polishing. They also had many brand name polishes to choose from. Prices were affordable too! Credit cards are accepted. Cash tips are preferred. They do not appear to do full sets or fills, only regular mani/pedi and/or no-chip. read more

Love Queens, they were my favorite nail salon until I moved! The no chip is not a joke, best place for a no chip mani in Lake County. Staff is really friendly and always doing sweet gestures to accommodate you. Pedicures here are pretty good as well, the massage is longer, they offer no chip for your toes, and again staff is SO friendly. I ended up with bleeding cuticles and my fingers were sore for a week. The leg massage with the pedicure was more like punching and my legs felt bruised for days. They messed up one of my fingers and instead of redoing it they tried to paint over and it looked awful. I should have complained when I was there but will never go back read more

By far the best nail salon I've ever been to and I've been to a lot!! Just moved to the area and this salon is right down the street. Decided to try it out and I will definitely make this my go to place. I had Michelle who I think is the owner. She took her time and did a great job. They are very professional and take their jobs very seriously. I've been to salons where techs are on their cell phones or chatting with other techs but this place was all business. It's serene and quiet with music playing which was a nice touch. I especially like that they do not use a drill to remove old layers of gel on the mail. Everything is done by hand with a file!! And the best part was at the end I got a full salt scrub, oil and lotion massage after my nails were finished. For those of you who get gels or acrylics, you know this is rare. I went into Queens Nails seeing all of the great reviews and wanted to pedicure and no chip. I saw one review that said her no chip chipped quickly but ignored it because there were so many positives!! Very clean salon and was greeted immediately. I could tell they had appointments coming in, but they were able to QUICKLY get me in. I say quickly because they were running around and moved my from my chair after j was already soaking my feet. That was fine, but they were really rushing my service. I wish I could have waited! A week after my no chip it had already all fallen off and chipped! I was so disappointed because those are expected to stay on for 3 weeks. My pedicure is even chipping (that NEVER happens to my feet!) and my feet have a lot of hang nails :( perfect place if you are in a hurry but wouldn't recommend if you have a special occasion in the near future! read more

I went to this place because of the awesome reviews. I was disappointed. First off I asked for a no chip sparkle ombre look......They said they don't do that. So I opted for a solid color no chip. She removed my old no chip manicure nicely...... With acetone soaked gauze then foil wraps. My no chip manicure looked awesome when she was done. But it is now a week later and I need to have it removed. The polish is lifting up and chipping near my cuticles....... And catching my hair. ...... ladies you know what I'm talking about. This is my test on whether a no chip is any good or not. They failed. Will not be returning here. read more

This place is awesome! The service is incredible! From the moment we walked in they were nice & attentive. The shop was clean & had lots of options for service. I definitely felt they went above & beyond for service. It seems these days a lot of nail shops just don't are about their customers. This place does. I got a manicure & pedicure, while they were doing my pedicure the owner served me fresh coffee, then during my manicure she places a warm relaxation pad around my shoulders, it was so relaxing. Also At no extra charge while my nails were drying they did a mini massage on my shoulders & back with an electric massager. It was awesome. For the price this business is amazing. I've gone to Queens Nails at least 10-15 times before I felt comfortable giving my recommendation. During my first visit, they did an amazing job and took their time. I was ecstatic because the location is in very close proximity to where I reside, so naturally I went back. Sadly enough with each time the quality of the manicure and pedicure went gone down. It seems as if they are always rushing to get done which leads to not a very good job or experience. Even though I have been disappointed I kept going back in hopes of a change. There has been none so I have decided that I will not be returning especially for the price I pay including the tip; which I feel is more than fair and exceeds 20%. I want to love the place because it's close and the staff are friendly but the quality just isn't there. Sadly, my last visit was today and I am unsatisfied with service/overall job done on my mani/pedi. read more

I really like this place. The salon is clean, decorated cute and reasonably priced. It's also less than 5 minutes from my house...definitely gets points for convenience. The staff is very sweet and they do a nice job. I never request a specific tech and honestly, don't know any of their names (they don't wear name tags and I don't go regularly enough). I've had several different girls do my manicures/pedicures over the last couple years and all have done a nice job. I've never noticed anyone seeming "just out of beauty school." Wanted to treat my daughter to a pedicure before Christmas. Ive been there before and they do rush you. This time my pedicure was 7 minutes. They rushed me and my daughter to pick a color. Sat in the chair with cold water. Applied polish so messy that I am redoing it now. $50.00 dollors for a 7 minute at most pedicure. Worst experience ever. Will never go back. I live in Grayslake and will pass the word. Horrible to take appointments if you cant allow at least a half hour for a pedi...Very disappointed! read more
