I'm on a quest to find a home nail shop near my new home, unfortunately this won't be that place, they did not earn continued business from me. Here's why not: my tech said a total of 3 sentences to me. And I usually enjoy a quiet mani/pedi at times, but I'm new so I wanted more than 1-"hello" 2-"wash your hands" 3-'thank you". He burned/cut two fingers and didn't acknowledge it with an apology even after I winced. I get dip service so there's no drying time so why use a regular clear top coat after a long service, I hated that and didn't sit the 5-10 min he told me to I just left. And it's not as good as the dip top coat. My son enjoyed his service, even though his tech also said nothing, not sure he even got a hello, he just doesnt care as much about the crappy paint job on his toes. So she has the entirety of 2 stars. The lady who received us when we arrived was my favorite part of the 3 hours we spent there (yes 3 hours) one full hour I sat with acetone soak on my hands ugh. read more

The owners do a good job but the old lady with no English skills is terrible. Avoid her at all cost, she does a horrible job (burned with the file, did not remove the old color completely, gave me fat and bubble nails, and shaped and cut your nails without asking). I am not a "regular" as I only go every 5-6 weeks so I cannot get an appointment with one of the owners anymore. I am looking for another place where I can communicate what I want and I do not have to redo my nails the next day. read more

I made an appointment at Pretty Nails after researching nail salons in my area. Pretty nails had a 4.5 rating which is why I chose them. My technician was Julie and she was wonderful! I had a pedicure, leg treatment, brow waxing and manicure. The entire staff was absolutely wonderful, courteous and personable. What a great experience...I'll definitely be back! read more

Peaceful, serene ambiance. All staff quietly tend to their duties without shouting at each other or conducting loud, personal conversations which are a distraction to relaxation. Staff wear matching smocks so they're easy to identity. Love the large TV playing a great movie! Acrylics aren't done, which contributes to the cleanliness (less mess). If I could give NO STARS , I would!!!! Initially before coming here I called to see if they had any availability for a PEDICURE, the gentleman says yes come on over. I asked how much for no chip - he tells me $35, cool. I head over and soon as I get here he states oh I thought you meant for your hands and I was like no just my feet and he says it's $45 for no chip pedicure, cool whatever. Then they're instructing me to pick a color and I say I want French - oh that's $55. Now im getting uncomfortable because initially I was told 1 price then by the time im there it's $20 more. So I proceed to say never mind I'll just do regular no chip color. They point to all the walls and say they have no chip for any color I pick.... Pick a color , have a seat, get my pedicure done (no massage which I thought was standard for a pedicure) and the lady doing my pedicure puts REGULAR POLISH on my toes when she knew she JUST took off no chip on from my previous color. Polish is on my skin! My child could do a better job! If I would have chosen a darker color you would be able to see if better in the pictures. I was LIVID & did not want her to stop to start over with no chip polish I did not want to be in there any longer than needed. One of the worst nail balances I have ever gotten. The gentleman rushed through my nails, burned me with the file. Did not listen to my request that I do not like my nails fat and bubble like. So back on the hunt to find a local salon that does not treat you like a drive through client. I could go on and on. I am so disappointed. read more

My sister and I called this place at 3:30 on a Friday afternoon and asked if they could accommodate us for 2 pedicures and they said to come on in. When we arrived, they were already filling the foot baths for us. The polish selection seemed a little limited (I'm still not 100% sure, but I think there may have been more colors that weren't displayed well). The staff was very friendly and very helpful. They were engaging and skilled (a good foot massage is the best part of a pedicure, in my opinion). The prices seemed normal if not a little high for the treatment we received ($27 plus tip for each of us). I'd give this place 4.5 stars if I could (but not 5 due to the color section and the prices), but all in all, the quality of the staff makes this place worth checking out. read more

Never a disappointment! First time at the new place, and it's nice! More chairs for pedi's, larger seating and love the new floor. The young man that did my pedicure today was very quiet, but I've not been here in a while so maybe I'm a mess... nice hot water, great message on my feet and legs, and I love the end where you get the really hot towel on your feet. Don't bother! Only came here cause my other nail salon was busy and I needed a quick manicure before Christmas. They were able to start right away, but right from the beginning I knew I wouldn't be happy. They don't keep it very clean. After cleaning my cuticles, she just blew it off her table..gross! She added something to the polish I chose and before she put it on I asked if I should pick another color, she replied no. It didn't apply very well. It's hard to describe, but it's like there's a ton of air bubbles on my nails. I start work at noon and didn't have the time for them to fix. She charged me $20 for a basic manicure. What?! She said for manicure & take off since I had a few nails with the old no chip on them. I've never been charged for taking off the no chip as long as I received another service. Over all very unimpressed! Close to home, but not worth the convenience. read more

First let me say that I can only get polish changes because my cuticles get open, painful sores after anyone cuts them. I have been here 3 times for polish changes. First time -- Robert did an outstanding job on my polish, but barely shaped them. I just assumed since my girl in Palatine did them the week prior that they were still in decent shape. Second time -- Not so good. Third time -- went in there with badly shaped nails because they all broke due to the winter dry air and I had to file them, so they didn't look good. He didn't shape them at all! Just barely touched them with a file, but buffed the crap out of them (not good for the nail). And polish job was not that great either. My girls at Ladies Nails in Palatine gave me wonderful polish changes. For $8 plus my $5 tip, they shaped the nail, pushed cuticle back, and always polished beautifully. I might have to endure the hour drive next time for some good service. P.S. Do not get your eyebrows waxed at this place. She did a horrible job! I was almost in tears because I was standing in wedding that weekend. 2 totally uneven, different shaped eyebrows... They aren't set up for it. She can only get to one side as the bed is against the wall. You can't match the brows if you're looking at each of them from the same angle. Pretty Nails, You should not send people out your door with ugly nails. Now I have something to show people when I tell them your salon is not good. read more

I go tanning a few stores down and I thought this place would be great.. I thought wrong. I have had them do my nails a few times and every time I go in.. yes its later in the day but not to the point where they have to be irritated that I showed up which I give them well over an hour before they close. They will watch the clock, look to see if anyone else comes in while they are trying to do your nails. Don't feel like they care about you when you go in nor are they personable to you and I hate that feeling. read more

Went for a pedicure last week. Very unsanitary, instruments just kept in a drawer and not cleaned in between clients. Files had obviously been used and not sanitized. The tech cut my nail at a really odd angle on the side that then pulled a section of cuticle and skin off which was painful. Now 5 days later its red and inflamed and still painful. i guess you get what you pay for on short notice. lesson learned. read more

I have been going there for 4 years. They are excellent! I have had services from pedicures, no chip manicure to artificial nails. Not only is the Salon well maintained they do excellent work. Some may say how do I know the work is Excellent. I personally did nails for 12 years. So I am over the top pickey. The prices are inline with any salons in the area. If you find a very cheap one, in my experience buyer beware. I can't say enough good things about this place defiantly you should give it a try. You won't be disappointed ! read more
