I have used Q's Moving Corp twice in the last 3 years. It was always a pleasure to speak to any of the office staff. They knew what they were doing and made everything clear as far as costs. They confirmed with me the day before which other companies don't always do.The same men, by coincidence moved me both times. I wish I remembered their names so I could recommend them personally. Both were very friendly yet professional. They took apart furniture and put it back together once moved. Nothing was ever damaged and was moved in a timely manner. Horrible service. I just moved my one bedroom apartment from the Bronx to Brooklyn and it took them 6 hours. When I called the company to inquire about the additional cost I had someone hang up on me. I was later able to contact the owner who gave me an incorrect charge. When I told the owner his price was not my initial quote he began to yell at me. The customer service was terrible. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to this moving company. I will probably make a formal complaint with the better business bureau. It was as if they were trying to bully me into paying more than the quote. Very disappointing!!!!! read more

DO NOT USE THESE RIP OFF ARTISTS!!! I got their info from a current offer they have on Angie's List. The offer did not apply to me but they gave me a good price anyway.....over the phone. Less than an hour later, some nasty woman claiming to be the office manager (Danitra?) called to pull the old bait and switch. The price I got was not from her so therefore invalid and did not include a additional B.S. charges. Now I know why they did not need or want to come and do a quote in person. They have a nice soft spoken woman call with the quote, then have a rude, mean condescending and ignorant one call back for the kill. BUYER BEWARE. read more

I have used Q's Moving since 2013 and have never had any issues or problems. No broken or scratched furniture and the efficiency of the crew remains as good as it was when I first engaged them. I have had the same crew, with the exception of those who have moved on, for all of my moves and they are familiar with my requirements. Tom keeps things moving and shaking and sets the tone to get the move going and finished timely. I've never had any issues with pricing. Customers are asked about their inventory prior to an account being created, however one must be completely transparent and flexible. You may not think you have a significant amount of furniture/items to move, but the moving company has to reassess due to truck size and number of personnel needed. We all would like to save money moving, however if you have more things to move than stated in the original quote, you should be liable for paying for the omission(s). read more

I m very disappointed in this company. It was my second time using them and I got the same movers as the previous move 4 years ago. They were actually very good even thought they broke a few of my things. But this time I had to deal with the office manager, Demetria, not only was she untruthful about hidden costs, which she said I had been told about and hadn't, she was irate and very difficult to do business with. I'd give this company 0 stars if I could. In addition to chipping and scratching our expensive furniture, the movers were completely unprofessional--two of them were loudly arguing over some personal disagreement while precariously handling our items, and ended up having a vulgar shouting match AND fist fight right outside our apartment...in the middle of the move. One of the movers actually left without finishing the job and without telling us. When I brought this up with the claims department, they completely denied the unprofessional behavior and failed to compensate us for half of the items they damaged. I've used Q's twice for moves. The first was an out of state relocation to New York where the guys unloaded my truck. The second move was a full service move with a three man crew from New York to New Jersey. They wrapped all of my furniture, TV, pictures, etc., very well and were quick and efficient. The unload went very well and the crew was really nice. The folks at the front office do a good job of staying in contact to let you know where the movers are when they are on the road. They were quick to provide certificates of insurance to the buildings as well. I'll use them for any further moves and would definitely recommend them. read more

This review is long overdue. The move was done on June 29 2015. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that I was kept waiting a few hours past the estimated start time. I received calls from the crew telling me they would be "a little late" and then they would be on their way soon and then they were stuck in traffic. I called the office to find out what was going on and the lovely lady that helped me was trying to contact them to find out what the problem was. Needless to say by the time they arrived I was beyond annoyed. I was moving my father's belongings from his apartment to my house. The "house rules" in the building are that the super or maintenance man must be on-site during a move. My move was scheduled for between 1 and 3. The maintenance man leaves at 4. The amount of furniture and boxes was not great so even if they started at 3 I knew it would be done on that end by 4. I received a call telling me it would be after 4 before they would arrive. In order to have the move done that day I had to pay the maintenance man to stay overtime. I began to panic when the maintenance man said he had to leave by 6 and it was 5:40 and the crew had not arrived. They arrived at 5:50 and he agreed to stay and help. I have to admit I was less than cordial to the crew. They were pleasant and professional and acted as if I was their best friend. Once they arrived at my house they explained why they were so late. The job before mine took much longer than expected due to the locations of the apartments and sudden requests from the customer. By the time the truck was unloaded and my father's belongings brought into my house we were all friends :-). They were very grateful that my job did not involve long walks to the truck and carrying the furniture and boxes up many floors. My only suggestion is that they could have told me the reason for the delay and given me (or the office) a better ETA instead of making me wait with no idea as to when they would arrive - if at all. I chose Q's because they are a local company and when I called for the estimate the lovely lady that helped me was so pleasant and assured me that I could call any time. I don't anticipate needing them any time soon but I would certainly recommend them. read more

Absolutely Horrible! Very sloppy job- they scraped the paint up the hallway and ruined two door entrances. They could not figure out how to get the couch in the living room so they just left it in the kitchen. The leather couch was also completely scratched up! After they left I contacted another moving company who was able to move my couch into the living room within 15 minutes! Q's Moving should be embarrassed to call themselves a moving company! The amount of damages they caused is more then the amount it cost for me to hire them- it was a very bad decision and I warn anyone before choosing this company!! read more

Moved from eastern Connecticut to lower Manhattan. I had all of my belongings in a 5x10' storage unit, and the two men from Q's arrived on time and packed it all into their truck in under an hour. It would've been even quicker, but they had to repack some of the smaller items that weren't in boxes. I took Metro North into the city and expected to arrive before Jeff and Shane from Q's, but they arrived nearly an hour ahead of me. They were able to get into my apartment and began unpacking right away. One of them had to stay with their truck due to construction and not wanting to get a ticket, but overall, the unpacking went quickly and smoothly. Everyone at Q's who I had contact with was pleasant and helpful, and I will certainly use them again! read more

horrible, horrible, HORRIBLE experience with this moving company. I hired them through Hire-a-Helper. They severely damaged most of my furniture because they packed it wood on wood. There were more than fifty moving blankets left over that my husband bought so there is no excuse for this. I have pictures of all the move - while they were packing (the side table they dropped and broke), just after the packing of the truck and all the damage when it arrived and we opened the truck. Literally pieces were broken off of antiques. There were also broken pieces of furniture on the floor of the truck when it arrived. When I called the owner he was extremely rude and was yelling at me about how professional his workers were. He instructed a person in his office to file a claim to his insurance company and they came back with offering $120 for all the damage. I told them this wouldn't even cover to fix one piece and they said the owner would put in $120 for a total of $240. Still not enough to fix even one piece of the damaged furniture. There was broken marble so this joke of an offer wouldn't even pay to fix one piece of furniture. I also told the owner how the day of the move one of the workers went into my bathroom with a pair of scissors and asked me for matches. After quite some time in the bathroom and running the water for at least ten minutes, and after my husband knocked on the door to see if he was ok, he finally came out. There were burnt matches thrown all over the floor next to the vanity between the wall and the vanity. What in the world and was that professional? I have pictures of that too. Here is a copy and paste from the email from someone in the Q's moving company office where they finally try to blame others for their bad packing: "Once again, I am sorry for this. I have also spoken the Hireahelper and we only did the load onto the truck. We did not drive nor offload. As per our insurance and Hireahelper for damages, the price is 60 cents per pound to the amount of $240." I could go on with my disappointment but let me sum up that I don't recommend this company. read more

I had two storage containers with PODS storage in Franklin, NJ. Q's Moving Corp. was contracted by Pack and Load Services in Florida to empty, shuttle and move our things to our New Jersey apartment. These guys, Anthony as the "team leader", were absolutely fantastic, professional movers. They unloaded both PODS onto their truck and what I wanted to remain in storage they actually repacked into the smaller unit! After a small parking issue I encountered, they unloaded their truck with lightning speed into a small, elevator (only one we have). Part of our bedroom had to be carried up five flights of stairs due to its size. They assembled our bed perfectly. Everything was well taken care of; they were conscientious of every aspect of our belongings and residence. Best movers I have ever had and I HIGHLY recommend them for moving in the NEW YORK area. First, I will start off by saying that everything arrived in the same shape I packed it in (they were really great about being careful with my things) -- but it took 5.75 hours, for a SMALL one bedroom apartment. Really an unbelievable amount of time. Everything started off great, and the movers were courteous and professional. However, they were extremely slow, spent more time folding boxes and mats at the end of the move, rather than unpacking my stuff, which I feel were minutes/hours I should not have had to pay for. My uber from my apartment in midtown to the upper west side took 15 minutes, however, somehow it took the truck over 1 hour to arrive. $150 to travel 30 blocks. When I called, the person in the office said that maybe they had to use a different route because they had a truck -- it was MANHATTAN STREETS. Then, they started yelling at the doorman when he was being a stickler about loading things into the elevator. It was very uncomfortable. I ended up having to cut off tape and mats from around my furniture once in my new apartment to help speed up the unpacking, because we were nearing 6 hours. Every other quote I had received for my move expected 3-4 hours tops for moving. I felt seriously ripped off for the amount of money I had to spend. And at the end, they tried to charge me for additional boxes they used for packing -- I even had extra boxes. Thankfully they waived those fees at the end. But in short, I don't think I'll be using Q's movers again. Unless they quoted me a flat rate -- then they can take all the time in the world. read more

Based on my interaction with the company until the movers' arrival I would give them 5 stars. Unfortunately, from the moment the movers arrived I began being very disappointed. The truck was too small and the movers, while being friendly and nice, they were very slow and not very good at what they did. After telling the owner that we had to move 2 apartments into a house, I was quoted that I needed 3 people for 6 hours. One of the movers never left the truck and my boyfriend had to carry a lot of the furniture himself. By the time they got to his apartment, there wasn't enough room for all his furniture on the truck. They didn't use any blankets to protect any of his furniture because they were already packed away behind my furniture in the truck. As a result they severely scratched an expensive bed frame. In the end the move ended up being a lot more expensive than originally quoted by the owner, the bed frame is ruined, and we had to make several trips with my car to get the rest of his furniture. This was a terrible experience and I will not be recommending them to anyone. My boyfriend already left a thorough review, however I needed to express the experience from my point of view and leave a review Q's moving corp. should expect based on their performance. read more

Used them for a labor only job. We had some furniture delivered that was on the lower level of our house that we needed moved to the 2nd level. They moved the 150 pound dresser, and the night stand in no time. They also helped us assemble the other furniture, the crib and glider, both of which are perfect and look great in the room. We are finally ready for our baby should it arrive a little early! Both of the men (William, and i forgot the other gentleman's name) were professional nice and helpful. They even showed up a little early! I would recommend them and would use them again for a labor only job or a moving job. read more

Everything about Q's was great! The front office girls were sweet, accommodating and efficient. The movers: Hector, Basil and Berg were outstanding-so fast and careful. They packed the pod to the brim with everything placed in a designated way to eliminate shifting. I underestimated my "junk" and had to order a third pod. We weren't sure when the pod was going to be delivered, but I was due to fly out in 2 days. Hector gave me his cell number and kept in contact while the crew was on hold waiting for the pod delivery. It ended up being the next day. Hector and Willy arrived by 8 in the morning, loaded the pod before I left for the airport. They even came back after I called the office telling them I had forgotten to give them my bar stools and loaded them in the pod! Couldn't be happier with the service all around! read more

I had a lot of furniture that needed to be moved from a storage facility to my apartment finally. From the minute I called Q's Moving the experience was excellent. The representative worked with me so we can find a suitable time and date, being that my work schedule is so tight. My furniture was picked up from the storage facility, and was in my apartment in no time. I was a little worried because my building is old that the doors would not be wide enough for some of this furniture. But to my surprise the delivery guys managed to get it all in without any hassle. Most importantly nothing was damaged, scuffed, or scratched. They even arranged the pillows nicely on the couches before they left, which I thought was really sweet. I would recommend Q's moving to anyone that is looking for a pleasant moving experience. They are affordable, courteous, neat, accommodating, careful and on time!! read more

These guys were great. We used them to help load out of an apartment into a Uhaul and they were extremely professional. We had a small COI issue that was our fault and Q's moving handled it all very well. We were able to contact someone in their administrative office on a Sunday to get the COI resolved. The team moved very quickly and were experts at packing the Uhaul. I would definitely recommend using them. read more

Q's Moving company did a great job for my move. I moved a large 1 bedroom a couple of miles down the road and they loaded up a large truck with all of my stuff in 2 hours. They carefully blanketed and protected all of my furniture and nothing was damaged. They delivered and moved my stuff into my 3rd floor walk-up, which was a tough and demanding job - I have some heavy furniture. If I had any criticism at all, it was only that they manhandled the boxes a bit - even ones marked fragile. But nothing was damaged as I had packed very, very well. Only mentioning it as a learning experience for the company. Thank you Tom, Q, EG and Hector for a great experience and for being so entertaining to boot! Would definitely hire again. read more

We were recommended to use Q's per a family friend whose company I guess uses them as well. The three man team broke down my bed frame and put it back together great, they handled everything else with really great care, especially my big glass mirror from my dresser. Took 4.5 hours to move and install all my stuff and made my life so much easier. Don't know about what team everyone else got on here but the team I got was definitely top notch. read more

Awful. After being hired by husband's company for our long distance move I cannot say I'm happy with their work. Initially all was fine. We had a small one bedroom and it seemed like they were working efficiently. I don't know if I was too nice or what but there's no reason it should take 10:30 am to 12 am to have packed the whole thing & loaded it onto the storage unit. The kitchen took wayyyy to long to be packed up. And they didn't take anything from the bathroom. I had to have a friend ship all that stuff over. I had to catch a flight to my new home that same night. I scheduled it at night just so could oversee the move but they took so long I needed a family member to come just so I wouldn't miss it. Now I'm here in my new home and the inventory list they were taking is nowhere to be found. Each side of this move (the review for the ones that delivered the unit is up next) has been a disaster. read more

I just used Q's to move. This was the worst moving experience of my life and I have moved a fair amount. As some of the other reviews have noted, the movers were slow and seemed to almost purposefully wrack of time (cigarette breaks included). When I called the owner he yelled at me and called the movers to tell them to unpack everything and leave it on the street. I wasn't even disputing the charge, simply calling to express my disappointment. In addition, the woman over the phone who I spoke with about the move told me to have one woman undo my queen bed while the other two men packed. When I told the movers this, they told me not to tell them how to do their jobs. I ended up running around doing the work, along with one of the other movers. The third stayed downstairs and had a horrible attitude. Save yourself the trouble and don't use this company. They do not appreciate customers. read more

I hired Q's moving to move my grandmother into her senior citizen building. I only requested two guys because my grandmother was only moving a twin size bed, boxes, a few end tables and some lamps. I will start with the fact they arrived early, which I appreciated. I was courteous and thanked the guys for their promptness, and I think that might have been the cause of their lack of enthusiasm when moving. Granted the elevator in the first building was tight, but the movers refused to fill the elevator up, only send down two boxes at a time. My father was watching the truck outside to avoid the company from getting a ticket and watched one of the movers stand outside holding a lamp in his hand for 10 minutes before asking my father if he should put it in the back. Needless to say, 3 hours went by before they even arrived at their destination! I took a picture of the truck to show the company that it took their movers 3 hours to load half of a truck that only included a twin bed, boxes, lamps, and end tables! When the movers finally arrived, I watched them slowly put 2 boxes on a dolly and walk to the elevator. I actually video taped one of the movers use the handicap ramp to walk a shopping cart into the building, when there were no more then 8 stairs. At this point I was furious and in constant contact with the office because the movers were not trying their best to move my grandmother efficiently. What took them 3 hours at the first location, took me (a 26 year old woman) my dad (a 57 year old man and my uncle (a 54 year old man) an half hour to get everything in the new apartment. I called the company explaining that everything all items were moved into the house, no thanks to the movers (they did not step foot in the house until it was time for payment!) I refused to pay them in full for a job I ended up doing myself. Due to their laziness, the amount due was $550, I settled with $400. So I will give the actual company a star due to customer service, but as I explained to the office, the movers need training on customer service skills (one of the movers gave me attitude when I asked to load the elevator with more items, items that I took put in the apartment myself.) and training on managing multiple priorities efficiently. There is no reason 3 unprofessional (mostly older) people should do a better job in moving then 2 professional movers. Imagine if they had bigger pieces to move, such as sofas or a larger bed. Overall it was a nightmare and I suggest going with a more professional company. read more

Q's moving was recommend to me by someone who knows the owner. We had a 4 man crew, and we're moving 6 rooms from a multi family house (multiple floors). At first, they worked quick to disassemble everything, so quickly that we just had to get out of their way, which later turned into stuff that they took - main cable wires for the fios main box in the house which was staying, and stuff they left behind- clips that secured a mirror to a headboard. After lunch however, they slowed down. It took a total of 9 hours. I've never had a moving company so I don't know if this good or not. The damage - broken mdf board under an ikea bed, a broken wheel on a queen size bed, a broken wheel on our barbecue and a broken glass payne on a hutch. My sisters however saw the broken glass and helped them hide it & the broken mdf board under the bed was crappy , so that's a moot point. They seemed to have trouble re assembling the furniture, at times needing 2 people to assemble what i did by myself when i bought it (ikea furniture). Boxes were left with heavy ones stacked on top of lighter ones. Considering that I paid 1400 dollars, I wasn't thrilled with their service, and I wouldn't use them again. My whole expirence over was meh, I could have done it better myself had I had the time. read more
