This QFC, from what I've learned is a step up from others because of the neighborhood it caters to: Medina. This kind of results in some quite exotic offerings including a huge cheese section, a deli with items like prosciutto di parma and pate' and expanded selection in just about every department. It's a little pricier but they tend to carry what most others don't, which makes this one of our favorite grocery stores to go to. Its also the only 24 hour market in downtown Bellevue, which gives it a definite edge over the competition. read more

This is a review for the deli at QFC. The downtown Bellevue corridor probably has a dozen or more places to get a sandwich, ranging from the usual subjects, e.g. Quiznos, Subway or Jimmy Johns to higher end places such as the café at Nordstrom or Gilbert's on Main. But, when I'm the mood for a sandwich there's only one place that I typically head, the deli counter at QFC. For my money, this is hands down the best sandwich shop in town. As I was preparing to write this review, I was trying to quantify what makes one sandwich better than another. So to try to compare apples to apples I'm thinking specifically about the vege sandwich I had at the Knead and Feed in Coupeville (see my review: http://bit.ly/14Iebv6) versus the vege sandwich that I had on 01.14.2012 at the QFC deli counter and, all things considered, it may just come down to choice. At Knead and Feed, you simply order a vege sandwich and they build a sandwich their way. At the QFC, you are in total control, from the bread, to the condiments, to the veges to the cheese to spices or dressing. You can even choose to have it toasted or stacked (double meat & cheese), all of what adds up to YOUR perfect sandwich. There is also an outstanding assortment of deli items, from soups and salads to twice baked potatoes, General Tsao's Chicken, salmon filets, many varieties of noodle salads and much more. The preparation area is probably only 8" wide, so you'll often get three employees working elbow to elbow to crank out one order after another, all while maintaining a clean and healthy work environment. Through it all, the team there is polite and happy to see you. This was my one and only trip to a QFC, as I'm not from Washington. I flew into town for the weekend and wanted to get some healthy munchies to keep in my hotel room. QFC made that easy. The store was attractively decorated in light brown wood, and the lighting created a very subdued ambiance while still allowing you to see what you were buying. :) I bought a selection of different types of fresh fruit. The produce department was full of beautiful looking fruit - fresh, firm, and colorful. Everything I bought tasted great, and stayed fresh pretty much the whole weekend. The prices were not unreasonable, either. The lines were short, and they had a self checkout so we were in and out quickly with our purchases. Pleasant experience. read more

QFC - Grocery Near Me - Bellevue, Washington

This is by far the nicest QFC stores I've been to - and one of the largest (it's interior size isn't apparent from the outside. Very deceiving!). I went here today and was struck by the gorgeous produce department, with samples of fresh tangerines and other fruit in acrylic globe containers. There was a lovely Murray's cheese island which was fully stocked with cheeses not often seen in other grocery stores. I liked how there were samples of various condiments out for the tasting (I saw different mustards out) by the deli island. They had a small kosher area but I was impressed by the British/English food imports. The whole rear section of the store is devoted to organic fare, health foods and gluten free foods, and there is a substantial bulk food section as well. I was pleased to see how many employees were around, and all pleasantly asked me if I needed help finding anything (I must have looked lost. LOL!). Every aisle was clean (like, immaculate) and wide. Shelves were all well-stocked. People were all nice. Then I wandered into the home goods and kitchen area, and wow, what a lovely addition to the grocery store! I remember years ago when this was a separate kitchen goods store, but I guess QFC bought it out and incorporated it into their store. There are gorgeous aprons and cool trivets and gadgets and small appliances and great hostess gift ideas. Fabulous area for items like this! Perhaps a bit overpriced (I saw some identical prep bowls and gadgets at Bed, Bath & Beyond just yesterday for $5 less. But that's the price you pay for convenience, I suppose). The Starbucks in the store is fantastic! I found Starbucks mugs here that I was looking for the past 6 months! Plus they had a special on their cranberry bliss bars that was a steal. A real steal! (The whole big box for $5! I've never seen that price for the whole box). Two other impressive items of note: they have a bar here! Yes, a real bar of sorts here, in the store. (I think it was called "Cork & Tap", or perhaps it was "Tap & Cork"): a counter with a bar, where you can get beers and wines, and a cordoned off bistro-like area with café tables and chairs. I've never seen such a thing in a grocery store! Also, there was an intriguing industrial machine that caught my eye in the bread/bakery area. They have a self-serve bread slicing machine here! So you can buy any of the awesome-looking fresh breads (sourdoughs, ryes, French baguettes, etc) and slice it yourself in this cool machine! Bread stays fresher longer. I thought this was a fantastic feature to have in the store. I really was impressed by this QFC. I plan on returning the next time I have errands at Bell Square across the street. read more

I am a fan of this QFC because it's open 24hrs! Yep, you can go anytime and get what you need. They also have cool things like a sandwich & salad making station and an olive bar. They also have a lounge near the Starbucks where they will have musicians playing live music on some nights. Most of the employees are friendly and helpful and even the ones that aren't are pretty funny. read more

Located across from Bellevue Square mall, this is a very busy little QFC! The store is well kept , very clean and has friendly staff. The produce selection is fresh and has a great variety. The floral department here is over the top and puts Your Local Market to shame! The flowers always have great color, competitive prices and a great assortment of options to buy. Checkout service moves quickly, despite at times long lines. Yes prices here are a little more then other stores, but they are QFC prices in general. My point loss in stars is because I purchased donut holes on sale for 2 for $3.00. When arriving back at work to place then on the break table, I was sad to see that the price under this sticker stated 10 for 10 on all 4 boxes I purchased. Although this is little, is it really that hard to take off the price sticker if you are raising the price then trying to advertise it as a great value?? Really now, this is just pure laziness on the part of the stores bakery department and really is an unacceptable business practice. read more

The staff in this particular store are incredibly helpful and so super nice. Rarely do you have to wait in a long line, they always smile at me at the check out, and most of the time they even remember that we prefer paper over plastic. It's the nicest QFC I've been to and fortunately, it's in my neighborhood. They have a good selection of fresh produce and meat. Their sandwiches always seem to be stocked unlike other QFCs I've been to. And the best part is that they have a bar with local draft beers. They'll also fill your own growler and have their own growler, too. I've actually seen some people hang out in the bar, just drinking beers. They also have wine tastings on certain days and the wine selection is good. It also helps that QFC is open 24 hours -- definitely has come in handy. read more

I was really impressed with the wedding flower arrangements and bouquets we got from QFC Bellevue Village! I gave them about a 1-2 month notice before our wedding date, as we ended up not going with our original florist (who got her flowers from the same supplier as QFC and was going to charge us much more). I communicated with Lori and sat down with Erika, our designer, to go over what we wanted. She has lots of experience and showed us many photo examples of her work. I told her the exact colors I wanted and said that we could not have any flowers with any scent or pollen (my mother-in-law has severe allergies!). Erika was very accommodating and gave us the perfect flower suggestions that would last all day. I also asked for extra touches like tea leaves wrapped around inside the vases. The flowers added up to a little over $1,000, which included 10 centerpieces, 2 large altar arrangements, 2 bouquets, and 2 boutonnieres. We also asked them to deliver to our venue for $150. Very reasonable considering how expensive flowers are! I highly recommend this QFC! They have one of the largest flower departments in the region! read more

QFC - Beautiful QFC bouquets (that don't make my mother-in-law sneeze) - Grocery Near Me - Bellevue, Washington

How to screw up a perfectly good grocery store... QFC Bellevue Square is right across NE 8th Street from Nordstrom's - prime retail territory in pricey downtown Bellevoid. A few years ago, this was a fairly modesty but quite serviceable supermarket that had a great selection, good specialty departments, and REASONABLY helpful staff, as long as you didn't want wine. At wine, they were abyssmal for over a decade but then they hired Yancy Noll and fixed that. Result: great place to shop. Then, about five years ago, Whole Foods came to town. QFC panicked, started to renovate the store with a vengeance, rearranging the layout, futzing with the lighting and...it actually kinda worked for a few years. Then, about a year ago, they evidently got the shakes again because they announced a massive renovation that would completely transform the place and, presumably, make them...well, more like Whole Paycheck. They pretty much gutted the entire space, drove out the rather sleepy kitchenware shop on the east corner, and totally rearranged all their stock. It's pretty much done now and here's what one steady customer thinks: 1. One of the things that made it pleasant to shop there was their lighting. None of that over-bright fluorescent omnipresence. It had subdued lighting in appropriate areas and you could easily see everything. Now, the fluorescent interrogation lights flood the place. It's glaring and relentless and makes robs the store of any comfort. 2. Having worked for a local grocery chain for a couple of years, I heard repeatedly how it's important to have people see attractive things when they first enter the store; foods and flowers and other stuff that looks inviting. Here, the first thing you see when you enter the east side main entrance is...foot powders, deodorant, and OTC medicines. About as inviting as your dentist's waiting room, AND the check-out counters positioning requires you to make a hard right turn, restricting access significantly if there are more than a couple of people entering. 3. One thing that this QFC has never had is the sort of cafe that practically every other grocery store in this area has, where the store's prepared foods are sold. One trip to Whole Foods shows that this works just fine, as it's almost impossible to find a place to sit there at lunchtime. In this QFC, they built a seating area that will accommodate about fifty people, with only a Starbucks there to service it. Their service deli is all the way on the opposite side of the store. Walk a hot chicken sandwich over to the seating area and see how cool it is when you get there. They could have created a state-cl;ass produce section in that area, if they moved wine, beer, and liquor out, and put the seating next to the food. 4. Speaking of booze...the "improved" version of their adult beverage department winds up with the net result of making the place look just like the smarmy Safeway down the street. The dark wood racks, wheelchair-ignoring seven foot display shelving, and tiny, half-assed liquor section just look like a Booze Ghetto; an afterthought that takes all of it out of the flow of the store. Their stock is crammed with wines they'll never move before the next ice age and the liquor section is skeletal and shows zero imagination or interest. 5. Most of all...this whole renovation appears to be mostly about sizzle and no steak. Their stock isn't any better or more varied, they're created a lifestyle-driven "organic and health food" area into which they've stuffed all sorts of things that seem haphazardly culled from their regular stock with no regard for whether they fit that category or not. Tim's Chips are in the regular snacks section. Kettle Chips are in Organic and Health. The main thing that does is make it harder to find anything, unless you have a list with you of what QFC considers "Orgainc" and "Healthy". That's just the highlights. This store is CLUMSY...AND, apparently to pay for all this rampant overkill, the prices have been inflated quicker than a car's air bag. If they hoped to compete with Whole Foods, they've totally succeeded on price. Congrats, QFC, you're now HIGHER than your ritzy neighbor! But in every other sense, what QFC has accomplished with this is to suck the vitality and appeal out of a fine, comfortable, spacious urban supermarket. read more

Gorgeous flowers. Deli counter that winds along one wall, filled with a wide variety of pre-made goods. And Bacon Man. He measures out the 1/2 pound of thick-sliced bacon you and your boyfriend order. He looks at the two of you and says: "I think you want a pound." Bacon Man...you were SO RIGHT. And when we wandered back by him later, he called out to us, "Need more BACON?" Not today. Not yet. But, oh, yes....someday soon, we will be back! read more

This is the QFC I grew up shopping at... and the whole atmosphere has changed drastically over the past 10 years. I could easily mix this place up with a Mercer Island grocery store. I think their prices are too steep to shop here regularly... you might as well shop at Whole Foods. Atleast WF gets creative with their deli items.... QFC is always in a rut. read more

For me, this QFC is like the bad ex who is just under the level of crazy that would keep one away, which would be better for all involved. The one you keep going back to for sex out of desperation. You always tell yourself, "just one more time," even when coming back for your 27th helping, who stops you from developing a healthy relationship with someone better for you. The store is reasonably clean, has no major issues, and has electronic self-checkout so one can avoid the inconvenience of human interaction while shopping, but everything is more expensive than Fred Meyer, which is also owned by Kroger. I've compared, and non-sale prices at Fred Meyer often beat "sale" prices at QFC, and one doesn't even need the almost-ubiquitous free-but-we-track-all-of-your-purchases grocery card at Fred Meyer to get sale prices. If you don't mind the cost, it's a decent place to go for standard groceries. I specifically do like the floral section; prices are reasonable and I can quickly get flowers as needed - even if I didn't use this as a grocery store, I probably would still come here on the occasions that call for a florist. They do have an organic section, but it's somewhat limited and you're better off at someplace like Trader Joe's or Whole Foods. Once, I had gotten baklava with someone from the bakery section and it just tasted a bit off, not like baklava, so I will not likely try their baked goods again. So why do I come back? Convenience. It is open 24 hours a day and I can walk here late at night if I just need a quick grocery booty call. It's never a fulfilling shopping experience, and I sometimes am asking myself why I just did it again as soon as I get home, but still I return. QFC, why do you hurt me so? read more

As far as QFC's go - this is one of the nicer ones. Prices are outrageous - sale prices are Safeway/Albertson's regular prices. I'm not sure how QFC has a reputation of having higher prices than other grocery chains. I'm a super bargain shopper (esp. when it comes to groceries) and I've found that QFC consistently has better prices than Safeway and Fred Meyer. More importantly, this specific QFC has the best produce than any other grocery store in Bellevue, aside from Whole Foods. It has a huge selection of everything, including British foods (..heart!..), and Asian stuff for when Chinatown's too far and Uwajimaya's closed. It has a HUGE floral section, which I LOVE. I love putting together my own bouquets, and they have everything I could possibly want at decent prices (not florist prices). Even without all of that, produce produce produce. I've always found what I wanted and the quality has always been great. They clearly order from the best and don't put out the bad stuff. I feel spoiled. Service is great. The people doing the bagging are a little wonky sometimes. Like one bag will be 30 lbs and the other will be 5 lbs. ..No idea. ALSO.. watch out for the early afternoons. Have an afternoon off work and think you'll get your errands done early? No. It's like geriatrics-central there during the days. If you go between the hours of 1-4, be prepared to get stuck between slow-moving seniors and and behind penny-counting, check-writing seniors. LOL. read more

Because this store is so dysfunctional, I rarely shop there anymore. However, yesterday, Friday, July 20, I stopped in to purchase four items that I have not been able to regularly find at other grocery stores in the area. 4 items! Just 4! At around 7am, when I was ready for check-out, there were NO check-out stands open, and NO cashiers/checkers in sight. NONE! And there were other shoppers standing around waiting to be checked through, too, who were just as mystified as was I. Michael, who just might be the only highly-functional person who works at this particular QFC, offered to assist me in the self-check-out area; as he did with a couple of other 'old-timers' who sought-out help. In addition to being a really nice and polite person, Michael has always been helpful. This store used to be a great QFC. However, it is but a shell of its former self and, amazingly, each shopping experience is even worse than the one prior. read more

Bleh, I've only gone into this QFC when I'm in Bellevue and forgot to buy groceries for the weekend. A lot of selection, oriented a bit weird (like the frozen meats and fresh meats are like on opposite sides, and dairy stuff is further away?) Not bad bargains but their fresh groceries don't have as much discounts than other QFCs in other areas, which I find peculiar. On a light trip, I can spend like $30 in Redmond but closer to $50 here. Oh well. Great people though, they're super helpful. And parking is easy/empty. read more

Terrible experience with the cashier Kasey. I used my Similac coupon at Target, Safeway and Walmart all the time. My coupon has a picture of the powder formula in top but it mentions that it is good for any baby formula. I wanted to buy the ready to feed formula. She didnt even look at the coupon details or let me explain. She just said I couldnt use it for the ready to feed bottle. Please educate the cashier better for those situations. read more

Awesome service from QFC's floral department in Bellevue is worth five stars. I was looking for a small bouquet not too expensive. Kate in the flower dept asked if she could help. It was a great experience from that point. She walked the large selection of flowers, put together an artistic arrangement in my conservative price range, then wrapped it up. The arrangement was presented with green netting backed with brown paper, tied with jute. Very nice, especially coming from a grocery store florist. I understand this QFC floral shop does weddings, parties, arrangements. As you walk into QFC, you can't miss the floral dept, it looks like a local florist shop instead of a flower dept located near the cheese. Give them a chance the next time you need something special. I really like this QFC. Its BIG and the employees are really nice!! All the people back in the meat department know my name and always help me out to the best of there ability. The cheese selection is amazing, and there sushi chefs are super good!! I usually don't like buying sushi from a grocery store, but the sushi here is always SUPER fresh! And i even asked them to make me a special kind of roll that they did right away!! Now every time i come in there and the sushi chefs see me they ask if i want it!! The girls at starbucks are very friendly and make excellent coffee :) i'm a fan and will be back frequently... besides, i live right down the street!!! read more

Their prices is even better than the drug stores. I am a super fan of the bakery! I stop in this store when I need some special treats for a birthday or for a dinner party. The cupcakes are on par with the specialty cupcake shops, some are even better! I only wish that they had nicer boxes for the cupcakes for presentation. I would say the same for their other treats, they have some beautiful desserts, but forgot about boxes, they are more of an afterthought. I've had some desserts arrive smashed or damaged because they were placed in an ill-fitting container. The store has a deli with nice, fresh food items if you want to drop in for lunch or take home something for dinner. They have hot soups, roasted whole chickens and plenty of other hot items. Friendly checkers, self checkout, busy parking lot and a Starbucks inside. read more

I came here to get a coffee before golfing, and wound up getting a really yummy sausage breakfast sandwich which was made fresh on the spot. Simply the best grocery store in Bellevue, the flagship QFC. Somewhat pricy, open 24 hours, wide open aisles, nice wine section. Great vegetable and fruit section. Convenient Bartell's drugstore next door. Wish they would stop blasting the Hollywood pseudo-news in the coffee shop. I prefer it to the Whole Foods for greater variety for foods, and to the new Safeway for easier parking. If you want a crappy shopping experience with overworked employees and no open checkstands, this is your place. The last time I was in there, a bakery worker smashed down my cupcake when cramming it in a container, the checker in self check couldn't add so I paid more than what I should have. I didn't notice until I left, and at that point, I just wanted to get out the heck out of there. They often have loads of near-expired milk for sale, and workers that can't help you because they are busy facing their department before the end of their shift. If they don't get it done, apparently they have to do it after their shift. Great morale! Go down the street to Safeway. Yes, the checkstands suck too, but at the end of the day, at least you won't be totally robbed of cash. read more

I love this qfc! I also love the fact that it's 24 hours! So helpful!!! If you want s quick snack at night! They're open for you! I also love their produce , it's so fresh !! I just want more organic fruits , coz it's quite limited! And more organic veggies too! I like the fact that they have fresh fish available, love the guy Joseph who works there, he serves you with a smile! Very hard working!! I also tried their fresh meat too and I'm very satisfied!
