I'm more so of a Chiptole fan but decided to try out Qdoba since it's was on my way and my friends mentioned guac is free! As a vegetarian I had a veggie bowl w/ half lettuce/half brown rice with all the grilled veggies and sauces. It was OK, not as tasty as Chiptole in term of salsas and seasonings. Qdoba is one of those guilty pleasures that I am drawn to. It is consistent and for a good price you won't leave hungry. Perfect late night food too. I like the queso with chips to start. The chips are always fried just right and queso isn't runny. It has a little kick to it too. For dinner I had the chicken adobo salad with tortilla crust. I do not know what it is but I enjoy it. It had been a long time since I last came here but Mexican food in Hoboken isn't great so I decided to give Qdoba another chance. I've been here several times lately and they've improved significantly and it's shown every time I've been here lately so it's been consistent. The service is much better and the food is fresher and better quality. Some Mexican food in Hoboken is very expensive, like a $25 burrito at Baja, so this place's main competitor is Chipotle and when you put them next to each other, Qdoba wins in every single way. The food in particular is much fresher and better quality than Chipotle. The difference has gotten so big that I don't know why anyone bothers with Chipotle at all anymore. My boyfriend and I ate here yesterday. As a couple of the other yelpers mentioned, they do give you a tiny amount of guacamole and small portion of protein. I came here to compare prices and food quality with Chipotle. Chipotle totally won!!! At chipotle they aren't stingy with the meat or the queso or the guac or the sour cream! I hate to drop a score that much but two of my three visits now have been a huge disappointment. From rude employees to screwed up orders I can't really stand this place. My wife doesn't mind ordering it online but she refuses to go inside after the cashier got nasty about a coupon she wanted to use. When I enter inside I noticed someone who looked like was rich was not following the guidelines and no one had told her anything. I came here during late night hours. I found the menu very difficult to read. It made it harder for me to decide what to eat. I ended up going with a bowl. The portion size was decent - not the biggest. I thought the peppers and onions weren't cooked all the way through since they were cut in very large pieces so the onion still had a raw taste to it. The service was good. I told the manager it was my first time at a Qdoba and he was very helpful. The only thing I didn't like was when he was asking me if I wanted bbq or queso sauce with my chicken burrito. I decided to try the bbq sauce (which I ultimately didn't like) and he failed to let me know it was an extra charge for the sauce. I don't like surprises like that. The burrito was ok (probably because of the bbq sauce). And while eating my burrito, I kept thinking "Man, I should've went to Chipotle instead."
