This was a great place for takeout. I was planning to order from a larger chain restaurant but stumbled upon this instead and I was not disappointed. They have all the tex mex options you'd expect, but lots of fun takes on classics like burritodillas (burrito quesadillas) and general tso tacos. The jalepeno poppers were awesome. They had a nice crunchy bite and the perfect amount of cheddar cheese filling. I also enjoyed the sweet chili cauliflower bites. I would've preferred a bit more spice and less sweetness, but the batter was light and crispy and melted in your mouth. I also got the bean and cheese and apple pie empanadas. The dough was crunchy rather than the flaky, pastry style that I like best, but they were still tasty. The bean and cheese empanada came with a nice tangy dipping sauce. The price does not reflect the quality and quantity of the food. My burrito was so bland and lacking. I went inside and all the food looks like it's been sitting there for a long, long time. I swear I think the brown beans were almost congealed. Someone said the wings were great in their review so I ordered it. It was very mediocre, reminds me of cafeteria food. No, just no. I'll never return & do not recommend the food. I'm going to go back to try the fried Oreos though bcus surly they can't do those wrong! The staff need food prep training. She put on clean gloves then grabbed a dirty rag to clean food off the board from a past food mess, then with those same gloves prepared my burrito! Improper! Visited in person on grand opening day August 23, 2022 This place is flashy indeed but falls short in almost every metric. FOOD It's a Chipotle knock-off, expect the same menu options as Chipotle with the addition of some protein options like hibachi steak or hibachi shrimp. As well as fries/wings/tots. I ordered hibachi steak, the steak is cooked fresh to order but the line is not managed well. Took almost 10 minutes for them to prepare my steak. Although it was opening day, there was no order, no process, no effective workflow for them to manage the hibachi steak orders or orders just in general. Staff were confused whose shrimp was whose and same for the steak. They need to improve this workflow because it took me almost 10 minutes to get my food just because the steak wasn't ready. Not to mention, the portion size of the steak was absolutely tiny. Chipotle would give more by default. SERVICE The staff displayed no apologies or sympathy for how long it took to get the food, they seemed like they were on robomode for better or for worse. I can't recommend this place. To be fair, being from California, we were warned not to even bother with any kind of Mexican food attempt but this looked so good we thought maybe we found the exception . . . Ya nope. We all had burritos made and our "fajita veggies" were just raw, unseasoned veggies. The "seasoned" white rice was plain- or the seasoning didn't stick during the cooking and the queso for the fries just wants very flavorful. The churro bites were decent though. Lesson learned. I suppose if this was all that a person knew it would be ok but maybe cook the veggies and add some seasoning to them. read more

Love this place ! When I found out that Bubbakoo's is opening in the area I was thrilled. The food is exactly the same as the other locations, everything prepared to order, fresh ingredients. We ended up ordering on the opening day ( we ordered online since they've been advertising DJ and a party for few weeks prior so we wanted to avoid the crowds) the restaurant was packed but our food was ready for pick up just like the app said in 15 min. I recommend ordering online always, the app gives you an opportunity for discounts in seconds, you can avoid the lines and waiting time. Extremely disappointed. Not worth the price point. I had a party of 3 order 3 different things; unfortunately I ordered the Keto bowl and let me tell you my disgusting story. I opened the container to it completely slopped together, you couldn't make out what it was. After I figured out which order it was, I started forking through it. The ENTIRE bottom of the container was WATER as if they never shook the water out of the lettuce. For $20.00, this was despicable. I'll never order here again. I visited this place twice so far and both of them were not good experiences. I came here because I loved the food from the Bayonne and Manasquan locations. Since I began going to school, Jersey City was the closest one I can go to. The first visit was ok, I was lenient because the gentleman who took care of me was new and didn't know much. The second visit was on Wednesday 09/14 around 4:30 pm. The experience was worse because the lady who took care of me had a terrible attitude. I could not catch her name because she did not have a name tag and I did not request a receipt. When I addressed that she got my order wrong, she began talking smart to me. When I asked her to put more sour cream, she dumped a large amount of cheese onto my food and I said "what are you doing" and she said that "I have to put more cheese". Chipotle wouldn't do that if I were to ask them to put more sour cream. I presented a coupon to her from a flyer I received on 09/10. She said she can't accept it because the coupon was valid on grand opening day. If the coupon was valid only on grand opening, then why would you distribute flyers with a coupon attached weeks after grand opening? Plus no where on the print specifies expiration date or how is it valid. Since both of my experiences was not good, I am not coming back here again. read more
