Ok, so I've been back multiple times since my last review, and it seems like my last experience was an outlier. Every visit since then has been a great experience with amazing customer service! Morgan is my go-to gal for nail art now. The skill level that she has with painting detailed little things on my nails is just mind blowing! She's personable, knowledgeable, and understanding. She also rolls with my nervous quirks and ticks that make me pick at my nails and works around them to limit what destruction I can cause. Time flies by when she's doing my nails! Wendy is super nice and friendly and always greets me by name when I come in. She has some kind of superpower that lets her remember every client there! I got "no chip" gel manicure as part of a girls day with my mom and sister. The experience and customer service were amazing, however, I am extremely disappointed in the quality of my manicure. I'm not sure if it was the person who did my nails that didn't do something properly but after only a few days, my nails began to chip and big pieces peel off of my nails. I would go in asking for the the cheapest mani and pedi combo without any upgrades and each time the person doing the work would rub my foot or hand with a salve for a minute. They would then tack on $30.00 as an upgrade. It cost me $95.00 plus tips each time for a polish job that lasts about 2 weeks. I tried to look at the price sheet when I came in and realize it was very faded out print above the paying counter placed so it could not be viewed easily. I feel I have been scammed as I specifically said just a mani and pedi. Plus their no chip work only lasts about 2 weeks at most whereas I Care Nails in Mundelein lasted months each time. This is the worst nail salon I've ever been to; today was my second time coming in. The first time I had gone in for a fill on my gel nails, the lady them and I got a french tip. I saw after words that small hairs from her brush were in the gel, you could see it through the polish. Today I went in for a pedicure and notice that two employees were working on each other for training, I had walked in asking for a pedicure on the manager put me with one of the new employees. I sat down and told her I had no chip; she got that machine to start removing the polish and I let her know I wanted them square. My nails were not that short so I told her no need to cut down just file. Then she's removing the polish and a piece of my nail is missing, like a chunk. I pulled my leg back because it was stinging, and she paid no attention just kept filing. Until I said you're not even making them square your just shortening them. The place only had one other patron but filled up quickly after I was seated. The slain wasn't the cleanest I've been too but wasn't just filthy but definitely needed some areas to be cleaned. All the nail techs seemed harried and far behind even though people who called we're urged to "come right now". 3. Nice, no frills nail salon. I stopped by on whim on a business trip to the area. I had a work event coming up that evening and had broken a couple of nails down to the quick, so I thought it would be a good idea to get them looking halfway decent before the event. I walked in, was greeted immediately and asked if they did walk-ins, which of course they do (I don't know of a nail salon that doesn't, but its polite to ask anyway). I was immediately seated and helped by a woman with piercings and green hair (unfortunately I did not get her name!) and she was really nice and did a great job evening out my misshapen nails. She worked quickly but accurately, and I was in and out within 35-40 minutes, which I appreciate because I **HATE** waiting around getting my nails done so I don't go often. She was super sweet and we had a great conversation. I just got a basic manicure but was pleasantly surprised that it was only $12. Most places I have been charge like $20! I went here years ago and thought it was okay. Yesterday, I stopped for a manicure. The man that started the manicure filed my nails so they were ragged on the edges. I asked him to correct it and he did it again, but it was not much better. He cut 4 different fingers with the nippers. I was bleeding and I finally said STOP, I am done, I want my money back. I went to the nail salon because they were able to accept a walk in. All in all it is ok. I got a mani and pedi. The service was ok. The massage is a rub down. I like the manicurist which is the reason for 2 stars - he was very friendly and initiated conversations which is nice. There is not a variety of color if you wanted to get plain nail polish. I can't speak for shellac nail polish. The massage chairs are also ok. I don't think I will go here again. I had never gone to this salon before, but heard it was under new ownership (with a new name) and wanted to try them out. I called this morning to make afternoon appointments, and even though we were early they were able to start us immediately. My daughter and I both got no-chip manicures. She asked for nail art, which I knew ahead of time was an extra fee, but they took the time to compare the picture of what she wanted and double check w me that it would be ok, which I truly appreciated. I'm very rough w my hands at work, and have not had a manicure since before Covid. My technician went above and beyond to transform my nails. I've had many manicures in the past, but I feel like she took more time on things like trimming my cuticles and adding extra cuticle oil than other technicians in the past. Then I wasn't even asked what kind of pedicure I wanted. I actually wanted a deep massage pedicure but received a standard pedicure. I went here to get my nails done for prom, and when I called on Monday to make the appointment they were so nice and accommodating. I came in and the place was clean and everyone was nice. The man who had done my acrylic full set was chatting me up through the service which I enjoyed. My nails turned out exactly how I had wanted them until I left and saw the filing he had done was not a smooth job on two of my nails and they had weak points on them where the apex should be to make them strong and sturdy and none of my nails have an apex they are all flat, and the shaping is not all the same throughout. read more

DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS!!!! I WAS DISCRIMINATED AGAINST HERE AND WILL NEVER RETURN!!!! I would rate them a ZERO Stars if I could... On January 01, 2017 I called to find out if by chance Q Nails would be open for service that day. I was advised over the phone that they were in fact open, but would be closing early due to the holiday. They then advised me that they were not taking appointments though and would only be accepting walk-ins. I was very surprised and excited to hear that they were open and advised them that I was on my way. About 15 minutes later as I parked my car in the lot, I noticed a group of women congregating. Many of them were actually leaving as they already received service. When I got out of the car, one of the women saw me walking towards the salon and asked the other ladies if they had appointments. They responded to her with a simple "Yes". Mind you, I spoke with the salon prior to leaving my home and was advised that there were no appointments allowed for the day. The woman then said "Well, I don't have an appointment, so I am going in." I then entered the salon after her only. This is when the PROBLEM started. When I entered the salon, there were only people working. The first woman who walked in right before me was acknowledged and asked what she would like to have done. Then she was advised to pick a polish. I, standing behind the woman waited to be addressed which Never Happened! I then advised the woman working that I too would like a full set and she then told me that she would not be able to do my nails because the woman was with a group. I advised the staff member that I called ahead and was told that there are no appointments and only walk-ins. I also advise her that the woman was the only one who walked in before me therefore I should be served because walk-ins are first come first serve basis. I let her know that the woman asked the other ladies outside if they had appointments and they told her Yes, when in fact they didn't. As I was explaining this, the other ladies then walked in the salon. The staff member said that the lady's (who just walked-in) sister just left the salon and that she was coming to get her nails done now. I reminded her that there were supposedly no appointments and emphasized that I was the second person in the door and the only person in the salon other than the first woman for minutes prior to this group walked in and insisted that I be serviced. To end a long story, I was DENIED service and told "Come back tomorrow". I was livid and honestly felt discriminated against. Now, whether it was regarding race, or the potential amount of money to "missed" if she broke up a group of ladies who came in after me due to lack of time to service everyone before closing, I don't know. What I do know is that I will NEVER give my hard earned money to this salon and encourage all of you to BEWARE!!! read more

Immediately, I was impressed with the receptionists attitude and welcoming tone of voice when I called. It got even better when I arrived. This is the first nail salon that took the time to introduce themselves, ask for my name, and truly listen to how I like my nails done. She was up front with the price and took her time. She was friendly and conversational. Later, I found out the lady on the phone and the one doing my nails was the owner, Wendy. Wendy truly knows how to run a business.
